The screw through the muffler is what keeps it pointed where you want. I like the gas and nitro. Because you can fly for 10 minutes or more.

It is wonderful to see a glow plane flying! I am very close to going back to glow myself. The electrics are just too simple anymore. Love the sound and smell of nitro in the morning. PS, Check your exhaust pipe, it is loose. This will lessen your back pressure and create those starting problems. ;)

That was awesome! I have a few glow models and I take them out at least twice a year. I started with glow, the SIG Senorita. HUGE model and flew slow, low, and was acrobatic. I have since moved on to EDF and turbine. But, when I take my glows out, the slow, and calmness is such a great feeling!! I'll go out this weekend and fly glows!

Thank goodness for the evolution of electric technology in this hobby. Got back in the hobby a 2nd time in 2019 and 40 planes later (plus drones helis buggies SCT trucks crawlers and boats)...the rest is history!

Always nice balsa planes on nitro. I saw at 27.38 min the backpart of the exhaust was turning and was not tightened. So maybe you did not had good backpressure and the engine dies while flying. When the doctor/captain cleans the exhaust you can see it turn again. I enjoy your videos very much, especially the nitro/gas plane videos.

Hehe. 30 minutes of trying to get it to run and then five minutes of flight cut short by a deadstick. The only thing I miss about glow is the smell, which is wonderful. We all have different things we like though and it's awesome that he still enjoys glow.
Even in the 90's when I flew with ni-cd and ni-mh batteries I flew more than the glow guys. I quick-charged and flew 3 minutes and quick charged and flew over and over while they spent time trying to get things to work or cleaning the gunk from the airplane.
