    I can't believe this, your exercises are always so weird yet they unlock all the stuck parts in my singing all the time. Your channel is a miracle

    Tension is insidious because most of the time, we don't even know it's there. It's so habituated that it feels natural (like it's a "real" part of who we are - like a fixture that is supposed to be present). I think a huge part of this process is getting the "known" to feel unknown and the "unknown" to feel known and natural (hard to do after decades of conditioning). It takes a lot of concentration and consistent effort over weeks and months to "trust" what feels unfamiliar and discard what you used to do. Thanks for the video!

    Awesome! Really helps with stabilizing the larynx to not sound thin at the tops.

    TYLER, I LOVE YOU. I just did this exercise for 2-3 days and I ALREADY see a HUGE improvement in my ability to control my mix voice. Resonance also seems to be key. In fact, I think you can also use this way to hold your jaw still and increase resonance and improve your tone elsewhere in your range.
    Of course, to be able to do this you already need some initiation in your mix voice. But this is amazing. Another thing I have been doing to keep things interesting is instead of just doing the "na" sound over a scale, I have been doing it along to songs that I like that are predominantly in my mix range.
    My hands are covered in saliva, but at least I can sing in mixed voice now.

    If it's your first time on this channel, let me tell you this is the best one on UA-cam if you want to learn singing in a mixed voice. Helped me a lot, I couldn't sing above G4 without straining and shouting, now I can mix up to A5.

    I still cant get my folds to stop squeezing 😅. This is a bit of a game changer for my jaw and tongue tension though. Its much easier to know if Im tensing my jaw this way. Thanks for the tip!

    You are making it look so easy.I think I can never do it in my life time.I always flip and can never find the position and coordination.😢 I have been singing for 40 years and feeling useless for i can only sing in a lower range although there is nothing wrong with that.

      Start watching all his mix voice videos, listen closely to his words and the sounds he makes.

      I feel this. I feel like I'm always doing the exercises wrong on all these singing tutorials. I've experimented for a while now but still no mixed voice other than some weird mickey mouse sounding thing.
      Honestly, its okay to be annoyed that you can't sing high. If singing high is your style, then its no fun when all you can hit are the low notes.

    Is there a vowel modification hidden there? Plus, Tyler, do we need to exercise breathing? Thanks!

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  Рік тому

      Yes breathing is important! There is a vowel modification but it’s a passive one not an active one.
      It’s passive because the vocal tract stay basically neutral and so as pitch ascends the relationship to the harmonics and formants changes on its own resulting in a timbral shift.

    Hey uhhh, this is my problem. Also is this normal?
    Every morning I try to do mix voice, but I keep on breaking or cracking, and leads me too belting. Is it normal that every morning I can't access mix voice? Cuz like my mix voice comes out every evening and is ruining my singing at morning or noon. Is it normal or there is a solution? 😭😭😭

    • @RutabegaFarmer
      @RutabegaFarmer 11 місяців тому

      The only thing I can think of is warming up in the morning. It definitely feels like my singing sucks in the morning and gets a lot better in the evening too.
