I’ve seen many pruning videos of so many presenters. Yet, this video is the first one that instead of going crazy with a knife and keep cutting the entire tree into a single stick nude standing on the ground; this lady with cute EU accent first talks about why branches needs to be cut! And she does it with a low ink red pen. She says why that cut needs to take place. 🤙🤙👌👌👌
I have searched for hours and hours on your tube trying to understand what you so simply explained in 10 minutes! Thank you for making this video! I am early in my journey and it was intimidating to prune but this gave me confidence!
Great video. Probably the best explanation one I've seen. One more tip I would add is to rinse your pruners in a diluted bleach solution between trees to avoid spreading any disease from one to the other. 🌳
I started trimming my pear tree today. I finally found your video. Very informative and I also like the fact that you explain why we should cut or keep a branch. Today, I cut only the -sick branches of the tree. Tomorrow i will follow your guidelines! Thank you!
This has got to be in my favorites playlist! I have always wondered about pruning trees and there is a lot of good info here. Also, that's a really good drawing of a tree.
It's much easyer to understand what's the goal explained on 2D, on 3D... it's very hard to me to see it for myself; but now that i've seen the theory in 2D... i think that i'd get the theory, and in case of doubt... i always can comeback to your video to refresh the lesson. Very clear explanation, many thanks. Also, i like your meows; even when you seem to have the same "success" than me with my own cats, that look at me like.. "what are you doing!? don't you see that we're trying to sleep, punk??", that was great heh. >>;-)
This is the best pruning video I have seen so far. I loved the drawings first. Much easier to see and understand. Will start on my apples tomorrow (winter in New Zealand)
I love it when people break down the why(s) to something like this. I'm so glad I found this. I had a pretty good idea of how to prune my ridiculously overproductive young apple tree (I swear it's importing plant steroids in the middle of the night).. But this just made me understand it full circle. Thank You! Danke! (Hope I guessed that correctly lol)
YOU ARE THE BEST PRUNING TEACHER I HAVE FOUND SO FAR !!! LUV YA... SO I THOUGHT I HAD EXPLAINED THIS VERY DETAILED TO MY WIFE.... WHEN I GOT HOME TODAY I HAD ONE BRANCH STICKING UP. I GUESS MY WIFE THOUGHT ALL THE OTHER BRANCHES WERE COMPETITORS ON MY CHERRY TREE THAT I HAVE BEEN BABYING FOR 5 YEARS........... I AM SURE SHE WILL DO BETTER ON THE PEAR TREE !!!!!!!
Those drawings and explanations have been the best I've seen so far. Thank you so much. Hope to get some edible cherries this year on my trees. Great job!
This video is awesome! Thank you for the effort! The tree diagram was just what I needed to understand it better. This is one of the best videos on pruning I have seen on UA-cam!
Very good presentation. You did a great job explaining the whys and the nuances of how. I feel pretty confident now that I’m not going to mess up my trees.
Thank you. Good info. It is -28 degrees Fahrenheit here Minnesota. Maybe I will wait a few days before trimming my fruit trees. You make me think of Spring.
This is an amazing video, thank you for shareing. I'm been trying to learn how to trim a tree for forever. I finally have the confidence to try it myself. Thank you.
Excellent video! Thank you. As others have said, thank you for explaining the "why" not just the how. The drawing and then live demonstration was perfect.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in making this great lesson in pruning, and you explained clearly the reasons and intentions for the cuttings. I learned a lot from your knowledge, and will watch this video again and again to get the technique right. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much. I’ve just bought a cherry tree and will also be having a plumb and an apple. They’re not dwarf but I want to keep them at a manageable height. Your video is the first I came across and so easy to understand. I’ll be back to rewatch in the autumn or spring when my trees will need a bit of managing. Thank you.
Good explanation. Can you show this again next year, when the branches grown again? So we can see how the branches worked out. I recently made a video about cutting wine vines, but I never tried fruit trees cause they are much more complicated. Maybe I will try it this year after watching your video.
i have watched too many videos on this topic but haven't learned anything but your video was wonderful especially with the theory option which was great thank you very much great job.
Very nicely explained... Especially the diagram part... Well i belong to a farming family but for the second year i destroyed my fruit trees successfully and now i wached this video... Thanks lady, you could have made a nice school teacher..
I've been following your survival series for some time and had no idea you had this channel as well! What a great surprise! Why hasn't this channel ever been recommended by UA-cam? I watch gardening channels all the time. Anyway, again, I'm so glad I found this. Thank you and keep up the excellent work you do. (the 37 dislikes as of 11/2020 are complete idiots)
Really great video. Glad that I found your gardening channel. I'm also in to gardening and greenhouses. Have made videos on building and growing. Looking forward to the next video. Have an amazing week, Andreas 🇸🇪
This was very helpful because you explained the "why". It's hard to learn if you don't know why you are supposed to do something. Thank you!!
Seeing an illustration was way more helpful than seeing people cut actual trees. Thank you!
One of the better pruning videos I've watched.

Or just carry a bottle of lysol.
I don’t have bleach. Can I use pure alcohol like the solution we use for covid and hospital?
@@wemuk5170 Yes.
As a visual learner this is 1st of last 10 beginning pruning videos that makes solid sense. Tu

Very well explained, wish I found this before I hacked at my tree
This is the best pruning video I have seen so far. I loved the drawings first. Much easier to see and understand. Will start on my apples tomorrow (winter in New Zealand)
I also do a lot of fine pruning and you did a great job to explain the basics of pruning ! 👍 Thanks for making this vlog !
One of the best to the point video. With no uncesseray jabber at all. Well done from India.
I got a top tip from a farmer also trained in tree care -rub soil onto the raw cuts to prevent infection as it seals them
I'm watching from Las Vegas! I have 2 Meyer lemon trees in my backyard. In 5 years they are doing OK. But not great. This video is helpful.
This is the best explanation I've seen on how to prune young fruit trees. Thank you!
