Why does anyone need a bright tv tho? I mean, your just gonna put it indoors anyway. It's not like the sun is shining straight on the tv. But a tv with a very low minimum brightness is useful. It would reduce glare in the middle of the night with the lights off

OK, so I’ll tell you what’s crazy about that. I went to COMDEX way back in the late 1990s and saw prototype displays that I thought looked really neat but I was upset that they’d actually hang printed mockups on their booths to try to promote how great their display technology was. And then the screen transitioned to another image while I had my nose up to it because it looked so real that it looked fake and I was trying to see how it had been printed... this was a quarter of a century ago! Now the big difference is that that display was a “one of one” or “one of two” lab prototype that likely cost about $100,000 or more just to manufacture, and it was about a 17” display, but it does amaze me that that kind of quality was actually possible that long ago. Pretty awesome to get to see bleeding edge technology so far in advance.

@@josh8k23 why would you want that... LG says their "QNED" has 2500 zones and Samsung is in the same boat. The OLED has *3,320 times more* zones and not to mention perfect blacks. There's no reason to spend that much on led tech
I really love the picture quality of a TV that big! I would LOVE to get an 80" OLED Smart TV and set it up in a mancave/movie theater room with recliners and all! Imagine watching Endgame(or any other BIG movies) on a screen that big in the comfort of your own home!
It's very true what you said about being spoiled by OLED and not wanting to go back. My phone's display is the only OLED panel in the house, with the most color accuracy, and nits at that. The big 65 inch 4k TV gets no love ever since. Even my computer monitor feels lacking in comparison.
Not as bad as your making it sound to be. I own the LG CX and I have a lot of windows and it’s pretty bright as well and I don’t have a problem watching tv during the day. Oleds have gotten way more brighter than when they first came out.
I'm looking into buying the 42 inch LG oled if they release it this year. I almost bought the 48 inch CX oled. If I do go 55 ill probably get the 8k but microled is what I'm interested in.
Enjoying a more realistic image than what could be achieved on an OLED. I have no idea why people say things like "It looks amazing" or "the blacks are great" without thinking whether it's true to life
