- Hi everyone, it's Destiny. For this video, I talk about my job at Amazon. I talk about how I got hired, new hire orientation, training, and what to expect on day 1. I hope you all enjoy the video, and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe :)
I work at a sortation center too. How you like building those pallets? I just got hired 3 weeks ago and I love it not so much building those pallets lolz. I'm already trained for transporting and splitting. Most of the time they flex up with the night shifts just to give you a heads up. Early morning they don't as much and they give alot of vto too. I hope everything works out for you.
How long did it take for the drug test and back ground check to come back

I was working at Amazon in Customer Service but I think that the shifts were too longs. Like 9 hours and it was todo much for me. Nevertheless it's a good company and I would like to comeback again.

Thanks for all this info! They say "must be able to lift 49 pounds" but I'm a really small person. I don't think I can lift 49 pounds for 10 hours! Any advice for me? Thanks a lot!!!
If you have problems lifting anything , I would ask someone( that looks friendly lol) that works along side you .I definitely had trouble lifting some stuff and I just asked someone to help me if I had trouble :)

What does pending a final contingency mean
I heard u can't even be late for 1 min ?and u can't clock out 1 min late lol... I heard they are so strict?

@@jasminejones5585 Every company have their different options and rules . You can ask your dsp about that , i’m sure they can give you the right answer . I do pay by weekly 😁

What ever you do don't make the mistake I did . Don't transfer to there main fulfilment centers. They do not tell you the rate that they require you to meet . Plus they will not let you go back to there sortation centers. They never tell you that . amazon is sneaky like that

I finished all the paperwork needed except I can't see where the modules videos are..do they send another link after you finish the paperwork ?
I go too my pre hire appointment Monday what do I need too bring i lost my ss card
I went Monday and did my “interview “ how long till I get email about my drug test and my videos with questions ...? When I went too the interview she gave me a start date
I received an email about my drug test and everything about 1-2 days later . I think they usually send u an email when you can start the modules/training with your login info

So my shift is 10H my I will get 3H videos to watch and my first day is coming in two days ! I know whatever you did on your first day won’t take 10H do you think they will let us go after few hours ??
What happens if u don't get your online orientation email
I went to the pre hire appointment but I didn’t receive my badge do we get it after they train you ? And what if I want to change the schedule because I choose night shift but now I’m thinking about doing morning shift lol
How do they pay salary?is cheques allowed as mode of salary? Do you need to have an bank account before pre-hiring?
I got my pay thru direct deposit ( requires bank account).They might offer checks , but I can’t remember.

Can you bring in your cellphone(emergency calls) or wear your apple watch while working at Amazon?
For cell phones you have to step off the floor to use it for emergency calls . When I was working there , I saw ppl with apple watches on

Do Amazon part-time seasonal workers get any benefits, medical or retirement plan?

@@dangggdestiny I selected the seasonal part time job on weekends only with Amazon. Does Amazon make you work on the weekdays if you can't work on weekdays due to having another full time job elsewhere?
@@Anna-lc4no I don’t think so . If you picked your own schedule and you only work weekends , you won’t work weekdays . The schedule you sign up for is the one you work

So the drug test is given when you show up for New Hire Orientation? And when you say you had to submit a date for the drug test... do they drug test on site or do they send you somewhere to have it done? And if so do you schedule a time for that?
Drug test is given orally on the site and they send it out
And yes before your first day. So at your interview process
Will you get 15$ per hour in hand or do they have tax deduction cut and get 10$ per hour in hand

I went to my appointment thing Friday it’s now Sunday & they told me that my start day would be the 22nd but I haven’t gotten an email should i wait a little longer orr 😭
I would wait another day and reach out to HR if you don’t hear anything
It takes 2-5 days for your background check to come back with the reaults
They will send you the next steps after you clear the background check. But since your comment is a week old you probably figured that out lol

@@brekaylaparker1189 oh good! Glad you got it figured out! My friend just got hired at Amazon and he starts on Tuesday. I helped him with the whole application process lol. So now I’ve been binge watching vids about Amazon..... not sure why considering I don’t work there 😂
When can a new hire do overtime?
Usually in the app , you’ll get notifications for extra shifts you can take . Hope that answered your question
Is the assessment like a brain teaser?
Do you have to show them your diploma?
i just did my new hire appointment and they didnt even ask for it or if i completed high school (i did) but they ask it duing the application process online

@@user-km9sw5ww8c If the insurance company classifies vaping as "tobacco use", you might have to take more expensive insurance with a surcharge. They like to consider vaping the same as smoking.
