What a ratty tree! Geoff you got it down, the roof is intact and so are you and Andrea. It's not been a moneymaker, it was an educator! I think you & Andrea did fantastically!
Feel for ya Jeff, I had a similar day yesterday myself!! 94F with no breeze. 85’ Poplar with a big split happening at the base not to mention a bad back lean. Couldn’t get a high enough rigging point on adjacent tree, limbs were hanging up in adjacent trees etc etc
I don’t know if you’re making the same mistakes. I did as a younger man when I used to pray to God for patience, and I found that he just gave me more things to test and try my patience. That way I would get good at it.😂

Enjoyed the video. DANG!! Yes, dang is right. Nice guys sometimes get the bad/sad end of the deal. That's at least a three man job. But, you low bid it to help customer out. You have to put the advantages in your favor when bidding. How to get the job done the best & safest way (necessary resources) and what the price should be. Too nerve racking when cutting corners (not enough crew). Those branches were WAY big.....too big (and to think how punky/rotten the tree truly was). JMHO. It's better to lose a job on realistic bid than to compromise your work with low bid, low resources, etc. Again, JMHO.
I was wondering how this compares price wise to what you would charge , I have a gum tree / eucalypt whose roots have invaded the septic trenches and so needs to go , it's about 75' tall and 2' dbh , large drop zone well away from structures apart from a fence that's avoidable , got quoted $2200 for a climber to remove limbs and groundies chip , fall the stem and grind the stump , i.e. complete removal OR $880 for a no cleanup . Everything else around here I take care of myself but this one is too much for me . Easy access for chipper etc. , fairly flat ground .
@@jeffschroeder9089 Thanks for that Jeff , I briefly contemplated going cheap but I know how big it would be on the ground , I might get one more quote but this sounds pretty reasonable , this mob have 5 star google reviews and have been around for a few years .
