Great removal and editing! Really highlights how terrible my videos are 😆 Nice device, I wonder if you could flick loops of the rope from down the spar to add and remove wraps from a distance like on a regular p-o-w....

Cool new toy! I think it would be nice for butt tying to control logs when the spar pole is a little far away. I have a scarab rescue descender I use for that and it's a similar concept. I have been eyeballing the new rock exotica do-hicky for in tree friction but I already have the rigging rope wrench which I love because I would rather have the ground guys doing more productive things than holding a rope. I almost always run my own ropes or speed line and never understood loosing a guy that could be dragging or running a machine when I have two hands.

nice video good cutting! seems like a little device that might be handy for solo rigging? i guess its a pain pulling the rope up the the climber again with friction added on top...

  • @ongridself-reliantfamily1751

Thanks for showing more of the climbing. As a new climber, getting to the right place to make the tie and make the cut is much harder than tying and cutting. I really appreciate the great video. Take care and Godspeed.

Enjoyed the video. Climbing and working a tree down piece by piece is always a challenge....which makes it exciting and fun. But, a lot of work is involved. You devise a plan from the ground. Then you revise it when you get into the tree. AND then you keep making a few changes to it as you go....changes to make it safer, cleaner and possibly easier (although sometimes the right way is the hardest). This was a very enjoyable video. You did a masterful job at not only dismantling the tree, but also as videographer. It's tough enough working the tree....then you add in thinking and planning camera work? Well worth the effort Jeff. Thanks.

Some excellent camera angles. After whitnessing all that is involved in positioning on a job like this, it is clearly evident a tree professional doesn't learn that overnight. Very well done take down once again! Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)

Really liked how you included the extra "climbing" parts. It shows how much effort and finagling goes into these jobs. Always cool to see you in a deciduous tree instead of a conifer. Not every tree is straight up lol

I think I ran 4 wraps with 1/2 stable braid when I did it and I didn’t have the rope captive as I had a block higher above the device so I could save the rigging point and run the rig from wherever I needed to make the cut
