I’d only heard of the Wavellite and Brazilianite so it was awesome to see some new ones! That kinoite is stunning! And the Brochanite does look very much like dioptase, super cool
The Brazilianite was AMAZING and the Mimetites were also! The Scolecite w Chalcedony are just oddly beautiful!

I asked a gem/ rock collector hut in an antique store if they had brazilianite and she got all “I’m the pro here and you meant amazonite”… like no I want that pretty yellow green stone, not blue shiny one that’s available everywhere
I don't call them "gem/rock collector" if they don't know Brazilianite, sad.

Omg we have several samples of brochantite we got from Central Oregon. Nobody could figure out what it was. Thank you! They are beautiful but very delicate and can’t really be used for anything other than a cool shelf specimen. I’m 99.9% sure this is what we have. Got it from a rock guy out in Prineville.
How about Benitoite? I know where a beautiful specimen is that is at least 3 carats. A friend of mine had access to the mine before the lady closed it. She had opened it up to the rock and gem clubs to get specimens but folks started breaking in with earth moving equipment and tearing up her land. My friend is 91 and a retired professor from UC. I am so blessed to have met him and now i basically have a private geologist as a tutor.

I'm in Arkansas. I have several wavelite. I thought the brilliant blue one looked like azurite.

Is the outline/almost small gap on the wavellite specimen the demarcation from the matrix? I’d love to hear more about how it’s formed and why it looks like that.
When I first saw the brochantite, I thought it was clinoclase. I have a small cabinet specimen in precisely that colour; a decent clinoclase specimen would be worth looking into obtaining if you're into vivid blue/green minerals 😉
I'm wondering if you were planning on doing a lesser known wearable gems show??? possibly including some gaspeite, lazurite, sinhalite, andalusite, kornerupine...
I rarely see lazurite in jewellery but the others do pop up from time to time, I'm not sure if anyone else is as keen on lazurite considering all the glory seems to go to it's more common cousin lapis lazuli, alas, lazurite is a beauty in and of itself that seems so hard to find polished simply due to the tendency to mislabel it as lapis, or, lapis as it conversely.
I think it deserves more appreciation than it receives currently being often misidentified or otherwise just misrepresented.

where do they find that glass stand for specimen
Scolecite is not a no-go for jewelry. I have seen plenty of wire wraps with it. I have a bunch of stabilized and cabbed pink scolecite and the accicular patters are incredible.
Only one of those minerals could be used as a gemstone, video should have been called seven minerals you may have never heard of.
Tincalconite - which is used to craft the pudding furniture set in FFXIV....

I would call many of these specimens minerals and not gemstones. If you can't facet or cab a stone, it's not a gemstone. Cool minerals though!
You can cab scolecite and put it in jewelry.
Oh, I’m so glad I now know to keep my gemstones out of the oven! BTW, it’s pronounced WASH-a-ta (Ouachita) mountains. Everyone pronounces it wrong! Ask Google!
I put some into the oven depending on what i'm doing. Sometimes oven changes coloration. Sometimes it just works really well to dry off the fresh clay. :P

Kionite has a Hardness of 2.5. A human THUMBNAIL has a 2.5 Hardness. Yes, a thumbnail would SCRATCH Kionite. Nothing is considered a Gemstone has a Hardness that low.

Aren’t these classified as a mineral specimens and not gems? In what capacity would these be considered gems? And if you’re such an authority why aren’t you using the correct terminology? I believe you’re doing a disservice to those that watch that might not understand.

Arkansas doesn't 'produce' shit...they are just found there.
Bronchantite has a Hardness of 3.5 - 4!! It FAILS to meet the requirements of a Gemstone!!

Calling Kionite a Gemstone is a LIE. You should be ashamed of yourself for calling an uncuttable mineral with a pitiful 2.5 Hardness a GEMSTONE. How dare you.
According to the G.I.A., the ONLY material in this video that is DURABLE enough to be a Gemstone is Brazilianite. So, everything else in the video is too soft, too brittle, and not Tough enough to be a Gemstone.
