I just want to give a one week update because I feel crappy now that I’m back to my regular diet! I can definitely feel a difference between my body this week compared to last week😓 I’m more sluggish and have less energy. It’s crazy. I’m going to try to find a way to mix the lifestyles… maybe try to go pescatarian… wish me luck LOL

Girlll it be like that wen u return back to meat because wen I went pescatarian for 2-3 years I noticed the difference too but one thing I can say I’m a very picky eater so it was harddd to keep up with it but I did like it
I just couldn’t do it no more lol n plus I’m anemic so I had to find other ways to get iron in, one thing I can say tho ever since then I still don’t consume red meat up to this day because it make me sick n upsets my stomach I be on the toilet lol 😂😂😂 but I do recommend you trying it out it’s definitely worth it
P.s pescatarian lifestyleeee is so expensive also that’s why it was kinda hard too

Hey Janet, I really love your content. You’re a super positive and motivating light in the sea of different health/fitness influencers. I’d love to add to your conversation.
I was completely vegan from 2017 til this year. Now, I’m pescatarian, and LOVE IT. It made the biggest difference that I can enjoy time with my friends, family, and boyfriend without veganism being the center of the activity. We can go to any restaurant or take a trip anywhere without food being an obstacle. That feeling of “vegan ramen isn’t giving” is bound to happen sometimes and there’s no reason to feel guilty. Most of the time though, there just isn’t an option at all.
I never want to discourage anyone from incorporating more plant based options for health, ethics, and the environment but no one should feel the need to be all or nothing. Thank you so much for your video - don’t get lost in the sauce to your approach of moderation, you do it so well!!

I LOVE YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON THIS 🥹😭😍 you’re so inspiring! & you’re right, It doesn’t have to be all or nothing! Some days it was easy, other days i felt SO hungry and restricted! But overall I do feel like I want to sprinkle a little bit of everything in my diet. I can tell a huge difference in my energy levels this week, compared to last week which says ALOT. 🙈😫

Hi Janet. Loved your video. Going vegan is hard to do overnight. It was a process for me. I was pescatarian for 9 months before I became a vegetarian and during that time I added more vegan/vegetarian meals and got more comfortable using different foods and products. I didn’t switch to vegetarian until I felt comfortable that I could eat that way and not be struggling. I think this is the best way to do it. You have to give yourself time. Im not completely vegan now because I still use honey so I’m still technically a vegetarian but that’s the only thing I consume that vegans don’t. Also, the gummy candy was probably not vegan because of the gelatin. I think that’s made from animal bones or something like that. I just recently learned that. So much to learn. Lol!

Lol at the pizza. For most vegan processed foods, you gotta jazz them things up! For the daiya pizza I like adding oregano, garlic, and red pepper on top after I took it out the oven. But seasonings will be your best friend if you ever did this challenge again!

I’m glad you tried it Janet!! Honestly, when I first started it was super difficult for me too. But then I found really good recipes online that I made, and I made tofu taste really good, and so on. Sometimes I will crack down and have meat if it’s a special occasion, or sometimes I’ll have it on vacation when I’m with my boyfriend so I’m not completely cutting it out. I had that brand of pizza you tried and I was able to enjoy it, maybe it’s because I’ve had the vegan cheese before, like you said! And when I started this I decided to not cut out cheese or eggs, because those are also a source of protein for me.
    Thanks for the video!

😂 I commented on your other video about wanting to see you go plant-based for a week, and here we are! UA-cam shows things out of order. First, kudos to you for giving it a try. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I think if you had planned out your meals for the week with a bit more research, it wouldn't have been as daunting. You're right, though; it is hard to switch. I was a vegetarian for eight years before I went vegan, and that was a tough transition, but I've been vegan for eleven years. It's not a lifestyle for everyone, but I'm always giddy when people consume less meat. Again, it was awesome of you to give it a shot and document your journey. 😁

I did plant based eating for 6 months a few years ago and it definitely takes some changes. I found myself juicing a lot but it was fun trying new flavors and cooking more fresh.
Props to you for cooking regular meals for hubby and vegan means for you. That definitely takes discipline. I was only able to try mines because my husband was deployed. I’m not sure if I would have made it that long if he was home.
I wonder how your soups would taste if you put unflavored protein powder in it. Just to give you more protein, should you ever do this again

Plant-based food can be so delicious if once you learn how to cook it right, I myself am still learning because I hate vegetables but I'm like 99% sure it's the way I'm cooking them.

26-28 ish yrs old I was vegetarian BUT I didn't eat any meat, like I ate eggs & butter but no physical meat
28-29 started incorporating fish again, and now at 31 I just eat everything because same thing I didn't wanna be limited, I wanted to cook more and try different food so now nothing is off limits 😁

Katjes Rainbow Gummy Candy is DELICIOUS. Don't rule it out entirely, I say you could try a dairy-free diet, and a meat once a day. Majority of breakfast and lunches are vegan, without thinking about it from Oatmeal to a Veggie Salad, but when dinner comes around most people want to do a meat pasta or etc.. I find that many can achieve meat for dinner only, and finding good alternatives to replace dairy if necessary. With alternatives you have to get your palette use to it. I admire you for giving it a try it can be complicated for most, but I think you did an amazing job. I hope you will consider incorporating more of a plant based diet, as you mentioned you have so much more energy, and you feel fresh. The benefits are amazing.

Great video Janet! I have tried vegan and it really wasn’t for me either but I did cut back. Now I only do meat 3x a week. For the cheese I get nutritional yeast from Trader Joe’s of course you can get it anywhere but theirs is priced well and I use it to sprinkle it on my tacos or eggs. Its not only good for you because it has vitamins but it has a cheesy flavor so it definitely keeps me away from the cheese a lot.

Plant based foods doesn’t really mean replacing stuff with fake meats and cheeses! Plant based is mainly eating Whole Foods! Vegan for like 6 years and don’t really eat fake meats or cheese unless at a restaurant.
Dairy is known to cause eczema!

    • @kimberlykroemer2755

When eating mainly Whole Foods you have to eat more to be satisfied because it is lower in calorie density.

Love the you tried it out! I think struggle wise you nailed it on the head; it's about mindset. Also vision and knowledge. You went into it missing or thinking about the minimal "restrictions" from Animal meat and not look at how you're open to thousands of plants, large array or grains, fruits, and so many other options. I, health wise, can't afford to be anything other than vegan/plant based. I unfollowed most meat eaters in the first years of being vegan and even unfollowed/unliked restaurant accounts etc so that all I saw available to me was plant based thriving options. Also I eat way MORE now calorie and carb wise than when I was a meat eater 8 years ago. Just like if Outback has a bad steak you don't say steak is bad you say Outback steak is bad and try again. I think the brand of vegan pizza you picked just is gross lol. I've found that Earth Fare sells good vegan pizza and Whole Foods Hot Bar is 🔥. We also use Hot For Food cookbooks homemade pizza dough bc its so simple (I am not good at baking anything and I can make it lol)! Pick Up Limes and Eat Move Rest have guides on how to go plant based (Pick Up Limes is the best) and I love all things Tabitha Brown! Hope this helps if you choose to consider vegetarian/dairy free during the week in the future like you said. I started pescatarian. Also I agree with the other commenter - loving your videos and consistency lately! GET IT!!!! Sn: many of the candy options aren't vegan because they used grounded up bones or animal analysis glands to flavor the candy. Yes Animal anal parts! That sounds made it right??? Google it 😂 ruined twizlers for me forever lmao I feel like we have so many other options to choose from as far as flavoring goes and who was the first person to figure that out??? 😅

I commend you for trying but the easiest way to struggle while transitioning to a plant based or vegan diet is to not plan. Check out some UA-cam videos or ask friends what they’re tried, so you don’t waste your money or time! It feels overwhelming at first but there are so many more great options and accessible recipes now!

    Hi….
    Always love your content!!
    FYI
Did you know cooking on tin foil is very unhealthy to cook on. It apparently releases toxins in your food. I jus wanted to throw that out there.
For the daiya pizza it’s actually really good. Now idk about the one you had but the supreme is on point. I get it thou with the vegan cheese. It’s definitely good when melted the shredded cheese. Don’t care for it without being melted lol. The slices thou the best one is Follow your heart Gouda. At least you gave it a shot kudus to you❤
For seed thou I use to take that and I had to stop. After taking it for a couple of months I noticed it was making me sick. I was throwing up and at first I couldn’t figure out why. Then I stopped taking seed and I was fine. Then I tried it again and the same thing happened again. So plz people consult your doctor first especially if you have gut issues.
I do have IBS. I was thinking that seed was triggering something in my gut. Ever since I stopped taking it I’ve been perfectly fine.

Thank you sooo much!! I usually try to use parchment paper, but I’m really running quite low on it so I need to get some more! I might need some more adjusting to vegan cheese and the ingredients. I don’t think that the couple of days that I did it wasn’t enough for me to adjust but I do think I’m going to try it sporadically. It really helped my eczema and I wanna continue to keep my flareups controlled.
Also, I’m so sorry you had that experience with seed!! 😱

      @@janet.ndomahina Hi Janet!!
That’s awesome you found a solution to help keep your eczema stable.
Yes some days I eat vegan and it does take time adjusting to the taste. If you like Mac and cheese try the dayia one. It’s good!!
I have noticed that my skin is a lot softer since I’ve cut a lot of dairy out. I just need to figure out how to get my gut under control. It’s definitely a roller coaster…
Keep coming with the great content. Love your fun personality. Your very encouraging ❤️❤️❤️❤️😘

    Gummies contain gelatin

I am glad that you have tried the vegan culture 🌱 it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Some vegan dishes are good and some are just a big no no. I feel the same way - I can live like a vegan however I can’t live without my eggs, cheese and gummy sweets. Gummy sweets aren’t vegan due to the gelatin which is the collagen in the bones and connective tissue and the skin of pigs and cows! (Hope I haven’t put you off gummies lol) - this is also why Muslims only eat halal sweets as they cannot eat anything that has to do with pig. Hope this helps 🤍🤍🤍

I feel like you failed to plan. A lot of people go to replace items with the same things. Vegan cheese will not be cheese. However, go for normally vegan cuisines. You feel, and your skin looks better, because your inflammation is probably down. Gummies aren't vegan because of gelatin same with marshmallows. They do have vegan options. Props for trying.
