I stop drinking so much coffee last week and started drinking tea this week. There is a difference in my motivation. Last night at 8 PM I dragged my butt out of the house and joined the gym. Enough with the gloomy days and crazy weather. I live in central Ohio where the weather can change drastically in 10 minutes. I turned the TV off. I started listening to me, in the quiet. I'm gaining my mental strength back, my motivation, self care. I hope the world doesn't end soon lol I'm coming back. A Big THANK YOU to ED and this show, wow where do I start? Simply life changing. 🍀
I live in Ohio, too. 2 months or so ago I signed back up to the gym. Cut out sugary and starchy foods. Walk to dog on off gym days. Spend an hour or more a day on education outside of work, like reading Power of One More or watching motivational/educational videos. Regulating my sleep, taking supplements I've researched, and drink tons of water. I honestly have lost cravings completely & I'm hitting new PRs every week in the gym. Went from walking 1 mile in pain to 4-5 miles. Again all of this in just a 8-9 weeks. It's incredible what happens when you put some gas on the fire.
Everything we all truly need is free to us. The sunshine is free. Going to the park and seeing nature is free. Not eating junk is free. Walking is free. Everything humans need to feel amazing is free. This is why i plan on moving my family into the country where we belong. This was an amazing episode. I’m so happy everyone is talking about what humans need, and it’s not the big pharma benefitting from it.
Fermented foods can literally transform our entire gut microbiome. Im Eastern European and just finally started to learn from my mom and they have changed my life ❤.
This episode has helped with my hypothesis. I started with gut issues, “allergies”, then developed epilepsy in the hippocampus and my memory is now disabled. I have been searching for years. Today I was tired like always and took a nap. When I woke up, this episode was playing. I started searching and just found a research paper published in August 2022. Gut health has been linked to the adult onset of epilepsy in the hippocampus. Thank you!! Now I just need to convince my doctor to help me w/o all these meds. Maybe I will have to travel but I’m determined to find a fix. Thank you Ed!! Thank for inviting her to your channel. And thank you, Amy!! I can now imagine a light at the end of the tunnel 🙏🏼.
This Doctor is a dream. Thank you for sharing her with us Ed. This is what makes you head & shoulders above most creators. You build value in every show. Thank you 🙏🏻
I have been STRUGGLING with gut health for a few years. I have tried MULTIPLE doctors to try to get help. All they seem to want to do is to put me on meds. I finally had to tell them to STOP giving me more meds & help me find a natural way to deal with my issues! I almost cried as I listened to this today! I have already pre-ordered the hard cover copy & I will be listening again so I can take notes!! You have no idea how excited I am to possibly get some answers naturally!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
I love thiiiiiiiissssssss episode!!!!! I love how she makes all this medical, microbiome and gut information simplified and appealing. I just want to hear more and read more. Thank you Ed & Dr. Amy
It is not ironic, that women love your show. It’s not only your voice, it’s your empathy and your passion that are so attractive. But you know that. You’re just being humble. Thank you so much for this podcast, I’ll be taking more care of myself, being a woman in my 40s, I should finally realise how important it is to take care of myself.
The #1 thing that help me with my food craving was meal prepping for a calorie deficit. Basically I'll meal prep on Sundays for the whole week. Two meals a day at around 1,500-1800 calories a day. I'll ensure that I get my daily recommended protein intake and tons of vegetables. If I have a sweet craving ill eat half an orange and save the rest for later. No soda or candy and my water jug stays by my side. Thanks for sharing Ed!
I seriously am so grateful to have come across Amy Shah. She is just amazing and has a wealth of information. We need more Dr's that are up to date and informed as she is. Thank you Ed for having such positive energy on your show🙏
This video spoke to me so so much. As a wellness coach, I try to preach how important fiber and probiotics are to my clients! Thank you so much for this video and I cannot wait to get this book!
Thanks for your power of persuasion! You got me! I never imagined that was the number power we must have, and discovering how good or how we can get better on this will help me to bring my business to other level. I love to help people and help them discover the power they have in their hands to change their life!
The previous show you did with Dr. Amy Shah was such an eye opener and WOW AHA show for me! I had never heard of the connection between the brain, gut bacteria and our mood. I finally understood things about my gut, my eating habits and my mood. The whole idea of fecal transplants sounds like great preventative medicine for many kinds of ailments and illnesses. Ever since that show I've been sharing food and beverages with as many people as possible. This episode was just as fantastic! The bacterial dopamine in fermented foods is super important for our mood. Food cravings as opposed to hunger are a result of our memories and directly connected to the dopamine pathway. I will definitely eat the 6 superfoods on a daily basis that she mentioned and buy her books! I really liked her insights on the correct way to fast according to the circadian rhythms, and incorporating prebiotics and psychobiotics into our daily regimen. So many incredible take aways from this show and the previous one. I need to listen to both of them again! Thank you Dr. Amy Shah for this incredible groundbreaking information and thank you Ed for all you do for the world getting this info out to all of us. God bless you! #MAXOUT from Israel
I didn’t want to watch this podcast b/c I knew my current eating habits are no bueno. So happy I got over my resistance! Now, I’m on a mission! Amy, Ty for your dedication to your research! Ed, Ty for interviewing her! I would like to get Amy’s opinion on the product called Adapt.
Excellent interview. Both my wife and I battle to sleep throughout the night and are guilty of using cell phones before putting the lights out. Thank you for sharing
When you guys talk about gut health and sleeping, for people like me that work 3rd shift, what's some of the biggest differences and most important things we can do for gut health? Also Ed, for future interviews, can you start asking people you interview, especially when it comes to health and medical information, cam you start asking questions more specifically for people who work 3rd/night shift? I would greatly appreciate it.
Love your podcast, learn so much weekly! Confused on this point - Dr. Sinclair preaches intermediate fasting for anti-aging / longevity, Dr. Shah preaching breakfast so important for energy throughout day, digestion, etc. I can’t be the only one confused here.
Dr. Sinclair has gone off the deep end. Despite his claims, he does not look particularly healthy or vigorous to me. Breakfast is the one most important meal of the day. I have 1/4 c oatmeal w/Isopure whey protein, cinnsmon, unsweetened cacao powder, walnuts, raisins, goji berries, craisins, almond milk, 3 poached eggs, a pot of green tea, and a fruit platter, varying eith the seasons: currently apple, blueberries, fuyu persimmon, & feijoa. Do not eat any processed or ultraprocessed foods whatsoever. Am 67 and fit -- this year's new year's resolution is working up towards my first pull-up in my life. Do weights 4x/week, am starting daily 5-mile walkd outside, am hitting my daily protein target, and still putting on muscle. These changes and good habits have taken years to accomplish. Little by little, and if you fail, just try again, like Olympic gold medalist skater, Brian Boitano said, "I must have fallen 40,000 times over my career." The important thing is to get up and try again
The mental health & gut health connection is just AMAZING🤯....we need these fecal transplants approved by the FDA for ppl suffering from severe mental health disorders...LOVE YOUR SHOW ED💕 WE NEED TO GET THIS INFORMATION OUT TO EVERYONE OF EVERY SOCIOECONOMIC LEVEL!
This is my favorite Podcast so far. I could listen to You both discuss the subject for hours. I've had so many wild moments during this and will implement her strategies into my life. Thank you so much for all you do in educating the public about truth.
This was AWESOME! Loved the first interview with Dr Shah, but I feel like I learned even more with this one! Was also just nice hearing things that affirmed some of the things I already do daily! Awesome episode as always and thank you to both of you for sharing your knowledge with us all!!! ❤
I am so happy that I listened to the full hour discussion. I have been looking out for my personal health for quite some time now and I can say that whichever stage of your health journey you’re in right now, this simplified discussion will reinforce all the good you’ve already been doing and would add more actionable knowledge that you can implement in your personal life. Thank you so much to both of you! ❤❤❤
Hi All, I don't drink alcohol but I do love candy, ice cream and chocolate...however I took 30 days off of it all and my cravings have dropped to zero. The first couple weeks were rough but now I can see that I really don't want or need that extra sugar! Fruit will suffice. Good luck out there!!
Such awesome information, I needed this, same as you Ed no blue light before bed. I need to get another clock!! Thanks for this show Dr Shah your amazing thanks for taking up this work!!

I have shared this with so many people already! So fascinating how all of the things she talks about I feel like most have experienced. Thanks Ed for bringing up the experience that you've had as of late with coffee. I used to drink so much and now find it hard to have a cup and I now believe that is probably due to the probiotics I started taking. Ty
A few years ago I was 300lb and on my way to the grave. Nothing had worked including the diabetic clinic! I was lucky to find a Dr. who believes in changing our attitudes and not just handing out pills. I now stick to a metabolic living plan. On a basic level I cut carbs out, for the first couple of days it feels like flu but after that everything clears and the "fog" will go. Now at 200lb I feel fantastic, with a few Lb's to go. I now have not diabetes, no longer need glasses, normal BP and good cholesterol. All because I now leave all carbs. (we get plenty in everything else we eat). As Dr. Amy says let get back to natural foods. The dopamine breakfast works great and keeps me full for hours. Great listen, thank you Dr. Amy and Ed, you ROCK!!
@@jenniferbrown3782 Great question Jennifer, I tried many thing, all those diets, weight loss programs and the diabetic clinic. Nothing really worked and the food was sooooo boring. I finally got so big that it was affecting me so badly I beleive I would not be here now if I had not made that change. There is no secret, it boils down to mental strength and will power. You have to decide this is it! NO more eating XYZ.... Diets are for short term only if you want to release you weight you must change your habits that you have set since you were small. I threw out/gave away all the foods with high carbs, drinks, snacks so that they were not in the house. If I don't see them I don't crave them. The book linked to my success is called Dr. Poons Metabolic Diet. Canada has adopted this format for several of it's clinic's and have had lots of success. Finally somebody not praising fasting. As a woman, could never do a fast (i.e skip breakfast, or fast all day). Skipping dinner works though as Im not doing any work in the evening.
Many Doc.s have yet to make the connection, never mind the Enteric nervous system. They treat symptoms only. Not good enough for people. Again this information is excellent !!
I can identify with the doctor's advice. 18 months ago I radically changed my diet and started exercising, I am 50. I suffered from bouts of binge eating before the diet change. A few months ago I realised that I no longer binge and I crave healthy food only. I find the taste of processed foods off-putting now. My new microbes are making great choices for me.
@Ed-Mylett is this legit? 🤔 Ed Mylett is at least in the top 3 MOST inspirational and motivational people in the world today. Forgive me, but I find it hard to believe that Ed would have the time for a call with me personally among millions of followerswhile maxing out his life.
This is awesome. May I recommend listening to any interview with Dr Will Bulsiewicz. He’s a gastroenterologist who has additional insight on the microbiome. He has a book called “Fiber Fueled” which is so amazing
On the water part, the key is to get minerals in your water. All of our water sources from tap to bottled water are stripped of minerals and that's why we have to keep drinking more to stay hydrated. Sad thing is the government and corporations push this so we can buy and use more water, when all we need is the proper minerals. Celtic sea salt and Himalayan salt are key for minerals. They really help for hydration and energy.
This is an interesting topic that you covered today. I have been struggling to better my gut health for a while s Hopefully there is going to be more research and knowledge that can be shared with us.
Thanks Ed. Have been trying to resolve by gut health with no resolutions so far. Do you have any recommendations. Tired of seeing gastro, pcp, and other specialist with no positive results.
Ed, PLEASE...read The Sleep Book by Guy Meadows. It has resolved my sleep issues, so similar to yours & helped enormously with my coming to terms with my tinnitus! After the gift of Dr Shah's knowledge, I hunted around for something to give you. The Sleep Book ticks all the boxes! Go well. Best Mike Wood U.K.

After a good pump at the gym videos like this really set the tone for the day 💪🏻💪🏻
@Ed-Mylett is this legit? 🤔 Ed Mylett is at least in the top 3 MOST inspirational and motivational people in the world today. Forgive me, but I find it hard to believe that Ed would have the time for a call with me personally among millions of followerswhile maxing out his life.
@@shawnbartz9829 that’s a scam brother…
@@lupemolina9117 yeah, I figured. I reported them. Maxout! 💪🏻💪🏻
@@shawnbartz9829 that guy is definitely a scam! Please report!
@@lupemolina9117 Thanks for seeing through that scammer, please report if you haven't already!
Thank you both ❤️
This is awesome. May I recommend listening to any interview with Dr Will Bulsiewicz. He’s a gastroenterologist who has additional insight on the microbiome. He has a book called “Fiber Fueled” which is so amazing
Thank you for sharing this!
I love sunny walk!!
Loved the talk!!
Thank you!!!!
Always my pleasure to share!
@EdMylettShow you're one of my absolute favorite people and I hope to meet you one day🙌
i love eggs i eat them every morning mostly organic eggs

This is an interesting topic that you covered today. I have been struggling to better my gut health for a while s Hopefully there is going to be more research and knowledge that can be shared with us.
🎉🎉🎉 omg . Ed mylett responded to my post. Is this really Ed? No way in the earth.
So happy to hear that you found value in this interview, I hope it helps with your gut health brother!
Thanks Ed. Have been trying to resolve by gut health with no resolutions so far. Do you have any recommendations. Tired of seeing gastro, pcp, and other specialist with no positive results.
Crazy how this auto played as I was meal prepping for the week and the entire time I thought HECK YES I’m doing it right 😊😅
Ed, PLEASE...read The Sleep Book by Guy Meadows. It has resolved my sleep issues, so similar to yours & helped enormously with my coming to terms with my tinnitus!
After the gift of Dr Shah's knowledge, I hunted around for something to give you. The Sleep Book ticks all the boxes!
Go well.
Best
