Today’s question of the week is what’s something you enjoy watching in secret that no one knows about? I think we all know that one answer, but we’ve got a few actual shows and it’s not just porn. Let’s hear yours. Let’s talk about!
Today’s episode is one that we think can all can learn from in some way. We want to know what does romance mean to you? What does it look like and/or feel like to you? I think we all see romance differently, and that’s the great thing about all of us, but does it have to look like it does in the movies? After the conversation today, I think we all realize a few things. One being that it doesn’t have to be rose petals all over the floor, candles all over and everything. Romance can be as simple as paying attention to your partner to know what they need, and how you can fulfill that for them. Romance is about your partner, so that attention is needed. I enjoy the cliche sentiments of romance (cliche as in what you see on TV & in movies). However, as I get older and mature, being intentional in anything you do for me is romantic.

17 years of marriage and romance looks different. It could be doing a chore that he hates to make my load lighter or calling me and saying I picked up dinner. I’ll take it. I understand life be life-ing.
Damn it I fell off and I need to do better. Trust me it’s not that I don’t want to leave a dissertation time just gets away from me… 🙄 I do watch all the shows though.
I suck because I can actually admit I wasn’t reading the descriptions. This helps a lot!! I be forgetting to answer the questions of the day… 😂
I enjoy watching in secret besides vegan cooking videos… 🤷🏽♀️and if you know me that would make no sense. I enjoy British movies and tv show and I watch a lot of things with subtitles. YT videos, movies and tv shows. I like watching life at a slower pace and most other countries don’t move as fast as Americans do. It’s calming.
In one word romance translates into effort for me. Period. A lot of what you guys mentioned required EFFORT. Whether taking a little time to listen or to take the effort to do the things you know your partners would appreciate and/or enjoy.
Romance gestures feels calm to me. I’m not the big loud attention type - on purpose . I like subtlety. Knowing what i like music, food, small gifts of something I mentioned not the big things… like my favorite flower. I remember a guy dated back in the day after dinner and a movie asked if I wanted to take the long way or short way home. It was so romantic because it was a scenic night drive the later he surprised me with a lot of candles and some 90s RNB. I don’t know if it was more romantic because it was unexpected or because it was typically not what was expected from him. But it took effort either way. There were a lot of candles burning 😂😂
Romance does look different in various stages of life for sure. Romance could look like a “massage” with incense and Robert Kelly playing in the background ending with a warm towel in college 😐 😂 to now it’s playing records, cooking together. It just depends. From what you pointed out “romance” for men seems more this “acts of service” the warm towel, get “becky” 😂😂😂 damn it Brandon, listening and/or being supportive. I would’ve never guessed that. You guys are learning me. Lol Romance tends to be tied to intimacy as in leading to the physical for the most part. Some look at as romance usually leads to 👉🏾👌🏾.. eventually even in the movies. 😂😂 Honestly where you tend to learn romance says a lot on how to apply it later in life. Goes back the saying that men are simple. Lol
At the end of the day… romance is just constantly learning the person your with.
