@@riosautotransportllc awesome thank you I'm in so cal haven't hauled since early 2021 but seeing you guys out there makes me want to get back in to it.
Hello from Florida. Love your channel and all the excellent information you share. I'm a truck driver for a company and I'm going to start my own business car hauling. What do you recommend for my first truck and trailer? I definitely do not want a super high overhead.
Everyone's situation is different when starting out. If you have enough money to buy a good used truck and trailer cash is the best option, or you have to finance vehicle and trailer
If possible buy used you want your overhead as low as possible, insurance the first year is very expensive. My first year I paid almost $20,000 second year dropped to $5,400. My truck was used and not a Laramie it’s a basic Tradesman. I don’t have 4x4 because I never transport in the snow.
I don’t file 2290 but I only drive in California and my weight sticker is 45k (under the 55k form 2290 mentions). I keep my def system, California is strict.
@@riosautotransportllc thank you for your reply sir. I understand that’s up to me to decide but I’m asking for the money wise, home time, things like that. I appreciate your videos and please keep them coming because they are very informative.
I’ve hauled freight as a LTL driver for a company and as an owner operator (for one company) 20 years ago but never as a hotshot. Thank you for watching!
Watching yall makes me want to get back in the game
What game? Isn’t this their profession?

@@riosautotransportllc Awesome! Thank you for the response.
For hotshot do I have to file for a 2290 form? And do you prefer to keep the def system on a ram 3500 or delete it out?
