That 2 second lag gap between getting hit and the registration of the brain feeling the pain, so relateable.
It sucks, because you're given just enough time to dread the pain you're about to feel.
It’s not a delay. The pain is so extreme that you can’t even register it.
Yeah the one time I nearly broke my leg I knew it was going to be bad even as my body entered the water. (Leg got caught between two railings and while it slipped free that didn't stop it from nearly breaking). I literally felt the cold of the water which probably distracted my sense of feeling long enough for me to think about how it was going to hurt like a bitch and while I was right, I couldn't stand for over an hour and couldn't swim for 2 days afterward cause moving hurt a lot.
My cousin who was in the same accident also had his foot torn by a bolt he was standing on when my brother pushed off the raft with his then 300 lb form. Everyone else on the raft was lucky to be sitting down, but me, well I was literally just climbing out of the water and had stood up. The laws of physics were working quite fine that day.
And at the two second mark: "Oh God...my life is so over...."
That's the worst part. You feel the impact and for the first couple of moments, _nothing._
...then you start to feel the creeping grip of Death's cold hand on your very soul.

Woah absolutely blows my mind that I can have this level of shared experience with a bear. Any man knows exactly what that bear was going through and it reacted the exact same way most of us would. Just crawling on the floor in agony. I scratched my nut the wrong way this morning and it's the most pain I've felt in months.
Whenever you get hit in the nuts, there is a 1 second delay until it floors you.
You could clearly see the transition between the different stages of pain this guy felt.
Stage 1: shock
Stage 2: The pain settles in
Stage 3: The pain spreads to every area in your body
Stage 4: collapsing due to the pain
Stage 5: laying there in pain
