Tried this on my 06 Ram 2500 using my Veepek OBD 2 bluetooth tool and whenever I go into the WCM-Ignition Key Programming, it's a blank screen. Can't do crap inside that app. I'll keep researching. Good video though I think I found the problem, my veepeak adapter is not 4.0. I went ahead and ordered the icar pro 4.0. hopefully that does the trick
I had a different OBII and it can't find the vin number. If there a way to get around that or should i order the icar pro? Suggestions? The test is good except for the module comes back false.
The Vin number will automatically find when you buy a license. If you mean pin number, it's on the screen menu right below programming. If you find that and it finds back unable to find it, you may need to host the app or try again. It could be the obdii reader. By the mxpro on Amazon, use it and return it if you don't want to spend the money
@EvolvingMale I got the license and everything was working great, then I got home today shut the van off and the key wouldn't respond to lock the doors. It won't open them either. Worked perfect yesterday. Have you had that happen before?
@EvolvingMale it gives 3 errors when I run the scan. B1AOA active rke fob 3 performance. It all also gives B21FB says historical and ignition fobik removal inhibit unlock. It still starts the 2015 dodge grand caravan but the wireless locks don't work. They all worked yesterday and the remote car starter worked too. Very weird.

Sounds like the starter, since the battery has been replaced. Could be as simple as the starter relay. You can swap that around with another one the same and see.
Ok, I have spent way too much time on trying to sync the dongle to the app. The app that you get when you use the qr code can not even find the icar device listed.
I don't know. Download the free app and see if it's available. There is a demo mode you can play around with if you're vehicle is in there. Probably is
Thanks going to try to delete the app and reinstall it and reboot the phone. On the second option server 2 it said changes made successful and it said possible pins. But it didn’t show anything.

License for the Vin of the vehicle. Each vehicle needs its own license.
@@EvolvingMalehow or were do we do that ?
@@hectorortega2699 in the app
Tried this on my 06 Ram 2500 using my Veepek OBD 2 bluetooth tool and whenever I go into the WCM-Ignition Key Programming, it's a blank screen. Can't do crap inside that app. I'll keep researching. Good video though
I think I found the problem, my veepeak adapter is not 4.0. I went ahead and ordered the icar pro 4.0. hopefully that does the trick
If it doesn't order the mxpro through Amazon, and return it after you do it.
B1A24 historical key not programmed. When it worked yesterday I had no idea how it worked. I was giving up and then the key started the car and the locks worked. It still starts the 2015 dodge grand caravan but the wireless locks don't work. They all worked yesterday and the remote car starter worked too. Very weird.
Cool, already have the J-scan too
This is an extremely useful video. thanks for taking the time to show us the ropes. I just bought a used jeep with one worn-out key fob. My truck had six copies to turn in because I can never find them. You should mute out that customer guy's name address and phone number though.
I didn't realize his info was in the video until way after I posted it. I can't edit it after the fact
But thanks for watxhing. I'm glad it helped out
Will it work on any obd Bluetooth scanner? Or do you need the icar pro?
Any should work
Will this change my original door clicker , just brough used jeep compass 2022 need to change entry.
I'm not sure, but I believe it will program it. You can play around in the free app or go on the apps Facebook page for a lot of info, or help.
Dyslexia is real..... "ODB" was a rapper in Wu Tang Klan.... OBD is the port in the car. 🤣
Haha. I’m an idiot
@@EvolvingMale My real question is - my 2020 Wrangler has push-button start. But I lost the key blade - don't ask... How to get a key cut without one to use as a duplicate?? (Any way other than dealer / locksmith?) My keyblade doesn't look like yours... Mine looks like it was CNC-machined...
@@HorsepowerHouse some locks smiths can cut one on site by hand. A buddy of mine had a motorcycle key done at his house. The locksmith was skilled for sure. But it is on file with the dealer
My question is, if you have only one key fob 2 buttons and you bought a 6 buttons key, how to program it by yourself? For x Chrysler town and country 07
Idk. You’ll just have to try it out
Any idea if I can do the same using the BlueDriver Bluetooth Pro instead of the iCar Pro ?
Apperently spiritually means “you have good survival techniques”;)
Thanks for the vid I found a key someone lost. Same make as mine. Is it possible to reprogram to work for my car ?
Yes
Hoping you can help! So. I have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee overland. It was totalled but engine was rebuilt. My pops lost the key. I got a brand new battery turns on. We had a locksmith program a new key with the pin and key code. It still won't Start. What do you think? I think it's the starter since it's been sitting in my garage for years. Power works good in the car but radio won't turn on or if you turn it. It clicks. Starter?
Sounds like the starter, since the battery has been replaced. Could be as simple as the starter relay. You can swap that around with another one the same and see.
Ok, I have spent way too much time on trying to sync the dongle to the app. The app that you get when you use the qr code can not even find the icar device listed.
Contact to it by Bluetooth first
@@EvolvingMale the icar device is not even listed as my choice to connect to
@@tombauer9550 did you put the icar in pearing mode?
Alrite i just got my key cut so ima order this and try it! BET
Does this work for 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?
I don't know. Download the free app and see if it's available. There is a demo mode you can play around with if you're vehicle is in there. Probably is
Bought the license but on the pin screen keeps saying. Something went wrong disconnected OBD. No mater how many time I try it doesn’t give me a pin.
Try unpairing the OBD device and repair it. Also restart phone/uninstall and reinstall the app
Thanks going to try to delete the app and reinstall it and reboot the phone. On the second option server 2 it said changes made successful and it said possible pins. But it didn’t show anything.
I been trying to do this for my 05 Dodge Magnum, and it keeps telling me that my pin is incorrect.
Now what? I spent the $24.99 to get the pin on my jscan, and it isnt working.
You have to enter the pin a certain way. It’s either no space or a space. Just try different ways
I tried both ways already, didn't work.
@@edsvws I had a similar issue before, too. Closed the app down each time and kept trying. First time took me forever. After that not so many issues. For some reason I found it helps to have a good WiFi signal. Weird, I know. But I was at my wits end and it worked.
Those mnm bars are good I loved the crunch flavor but can’t seem to find it anywhere lately
I did this but now it charges per Vin and when i did my dodge my remkte start on the key fob dont work so trying to get that done now.
That was hilarious. You could have edited out 90% of it and acted like its soooo easy to do. But you did it like it was real life, like 90% of us when we keep getting error code.. I would be all freaked out that I would deprogram my good key, but seeing you totally screwing this up a bunch of times makes me feel as though I can do this just as well,,,.....
Well, I wanted to show how difficult it was. It’s still in beta (it was at the time at least), and it’s finicky. I believe in keeping it real. Hate when they make it look so easy and then you try it and it’s anything but easy
Hi, thx for the video. it was a big help to use it to program my mother-in-law's jeep.
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help,
Great video but the Ace in my area will not cut the key because I didn’t buy it from them smh they wanted $179 for their blank key to be cut
Thank you so much, program 2 keys for my son's Jeep compass.
You're welcome!! Please subscribe
I have a 2020 Jeep Compass what year was yours? Just Curious if this will work for a 2020. Thanks and hoping for a response.
Okay so my situation is the antitheft was triggered when my key got stuck in the ignition when the tip of the fob case that held the actual key part with a tiny screw broke i had to jiggle the key loose.
After getting it out. I have no crank no start antitheft activated on the car. The key will lock and unlock the car when i press the buttons just the car wont crank.
i can stick the key in and turn it to run dash lights work but no crank. Could this help?I only have this one key that won't work.
If the original key was damaged and I bought anew key couldthis still work?
I’m not sure. Go to the JScan page or FB page and seek help there. There is a lot of info
can this be done with a junk yard used remote???
@@hectorboyar4321 i sing see why not
The link in the description goes to purchase a cable not the actual old module. Which one did you use?
Any of them will work. The Mx pro+ is the best. But on Amazon, use, return
Bro, you’re a pisser. Great video, very helpful. Thank you for leaving all the frustrations haha. Love it.
Ha! That's me, keeping it real. Thanks for watching and reaching out
I'm just curious how many people are thinking about calling Don after hearing him give his number to the cashier 😂
That's funny. I didn't even realize that. The funnier thing sbout it is, my mom watched it and this is the guy I bought my first jeep from 30 years ago. I didn't even recognize him.
I thought the same thing. LOL!
Right, no editing!! 😂
wow great info so helpful i did it with my veepik bluetooth obd is great
What is the app you used?
JScan
Does it work for jeep gladiators? Really don't wanna pay 300 bones for a new fob
works great thx bro
so everything you used will work with my 2006 Cherokee ?
or it needs a different cable Im guessin
ok so prob no cable just the obd2 scanner blue tooth and use the app ?
Hi, did you have to buy or pay for a Vin code? I thought it was free? Mine is reading codes ok. But I can not get the key to program.
Yes. You have to buy a vin code to do that process
The obd link no longer works, do you know which other one would work with the app
The mxpro+ is expensive but it will let you do a lot more stuff
@@EvolvingMale I had another question, do you have to buy the license per vehicle you’re going to be using it on or is it like alphaobd where you just pay once and use it on any car
@@Hugolopez732 you have to buy a license per vehicle. The app itself is free.
@@EvolvingMale ohh okay thank you for clarifying that! I want this to program keys on various vehicles, I think I’m going to be going with alphaobd because with that one you just Pay a one time fee and it’s not vin locked to any vehicle
@@Hugolopez732 well, I wish I would’ve found that one before. Thanks for the heads up
Did you use the i car v2.3 or the v2.1
I wil use it for my Dodge Caliber and Nitro
I honestly don’t know. It’s fairly new
@@EvolvingMale did you buy a licence for your car.? The program jscan told me to buy a licence..
@@BBMAFKOOS Yes. Each Vin# needs its own license. It's legit. I promise. The developer is in Frnace but he is super helpful and responds to email questions.
Two Ace Hardware's in Dayton said they cannot cut key if not one of theirs, and it's $199. I went to GemCity Lock shop. $2.00 to cut 3 keys. They got a big laugh when I told them about Ace. They charged me 2 bucks and I had them cut a plain key to carry in my wallet in case I left the fob in the ignition. Ace sucks here!
It's people. People suck. Can't think out of the box. I havent cut a key in 30 years and I could do it in a minute. They act like everything is a hassle. Glad you found someone to do it
Can I reprogram and old fob? So I have 2 fobs( one good one and one reprogrammed a while back and doesn’t match now I believe. Can I just reprogram the old one?)
I’m pretty sure it will work. I’ve reprogrammed one twice so I don’t see a difference. I had done it a second time to show someone
What about the jeep with push buttons
@@Saoody1997 app still works. Should be similar.
Mine is asking for the PIN number of the van I have to call the dealership. Not the Vin the PIN.
There is a screen right before that one qhere it will read the pin off the vehicle
What do you need the obd connector for? Do we use the app or do we need the ond device?
Will this work with a 2005 Jeep Liberty?
Looks like 2008 and up
Ace, in our area, will not cut a blank key that you didn't purchase from them.
That sucks

@@freddiesalguero9604 it works
what about 2018 dodge ram 1500 eco diesel? what item and app do i need ????? thanks i also was thinking of buying an expensive scan tool

Does it work with push start?
I'm not entirely sure. But I think it still works fine. I've programmed it on a charger and it worked.
Tried these steps for some reason I am unable to generate a pin for the programming .Jeep Cherokee 2019
Check vehicle year first, it doesn’t show on my old liberty
"Cherokee Liberty KK 2008-2013" is what's available in the app.
