In the most respectfully way possible, I didn’t think Levy was capable of taking down another top 3 player in the world, even if it was just one game. Congrats Levy and let this win motivate you even more than you already are
wdym he has already beaten hikaru
I mean, in blitz yes, it is possible.
He beat Hans which is more impressive
He has beaten hans nieman
Guys him beating Fabiano is far more impressive than him beating Hans Niemann. Hans is good, but he isn’t even CLOSE to Fabi
This better not be clickbait

Hikaru reviewed these two non-point games.Levy was ahead in the first 3-0 minute game until he flagged and then he won the second game. Give Levy credit but I think Fabi has another level. :)

Hey Levy,
I just wanted to say I have been watching for years and I really am grateful for all that you've done for the chess community and myself in particular. Yesterday was 2 1/2 years without hurting myself, and chess, learning from you, and being entertained has been a large part of making that happen. I appreciate it more than you could know.
Best of luck in the GM journey.
I know how hard it is to concentrate on something else than selfharm and you ARE DOING GREAT.
Congrats from Italy on your journey and hopes you will keep it going, WELL DONE MAN
Pin this Levy!!!!
Wonderful work that’s so awesome to hear! Best of luck to you in the future as well

They threatened him at the scc. Not to milk magnus.
That should give you a lesson levy, it's not that you are not skilled enough , as you've probably shown us, if you are capable of beating Caruana almost 2 times, you are more than capable of winning in your tournaments, keep that in mind, don't let anxiety take over, and just unlock your full potential. Best of luck!
Like Hikaru said, you've got the brains, but you haven't shown that you've got the mind. You admitted in this video that you let Fabiano's status get to you at one point. And even after out-playing him twice in a row, you still question your own abilities. You've really gotta stop doing that.
We are literally all rooting for you, Levy. We know you can do it, Hikaru knows you are capable of doing it, and now Fabiano knows it too. You gotta start seeing yourself as the villain that you are.
Look at fabi's stream, he kept praising levy 👀
He's going far, it's a shame we can't always play our best
Hans a few months ago before they played said he believed Levy could become a grandmaster too
It would be would be better for his conscience to consider himself an anti-hero.
The irony is he might need a little bit of that confidence that Niemann has too much of. Maybe that training camp wasn't the stupidest idea ever.
@@MusclesfromBnah it's still stupid. 200k isn't worth it. I don't care whether it's a training camp with Kramnik or even Magnus. 200k is just crazy
I feel like this is especially impressive for Levy since this was played knowing who his opponent was.
This makes a very good point
Rare comment in this comment section which makes sense

- Hikaru? Dead!
- Alireza? Wasted!
- Hans Nieman? Headshot dead!
- Fabi? Brrrr
- Grischuk? Draw, will get m next time!
Also Levy: Earn a GM norm? What’s that? Do I have to become a grandmother?!
Him becoming a grandmother would be weird as hell!
He is gonna become a grandmother 😮

Not bad for a depressed IM now let's see the depressed GM do it.
This is so awesome Levy, Fabi has always been one of my favorite players. Glad he rematched you, very cool of him :D
Levy this is incredible! Rooting for you and for everyone that is chasing their dreams. :) you are incredible! Anxiety and "feeling stuck in your own way" sucks - but you have it in you to be among the best of the best - first Niemann and now Caruana?! You have what it takes! :) 🎉 good luck and all the best with consistency and i hope you're not chalking up the wins to "luck" and the losses to "yourself". Take a page (ok maybe a *paragraph* lol) out of niemann's book - just a teeny bit of outrageous belief in yourself! You got this, GM-in-the-making!
Great games Levy, hope you can bring such confidence to OTB tournaments. I guess one of the keys to your successful road to GM is to have fun playing, it really brings up your game.
The hardest thing for levy to do is Not beating another grandmaster without knowing who he's playing.
Didn’t fabi challenge him though? So wouldn’t Gotham know?
@@Thoughtful7-x3b he knew

Levy knew he was playing fabi he literally challenged him
I think levy is a GM level player but he gets way too nervous and can't beat gms. All he got to do is some stress management
Fabiano seems like the coolest guy. Just a class act. He's probably my favorite personality in chess.
Great job Levi it’s been an absolute awesome time watching you best of luck GM SOON
Saw it first in hikaru channel, thought that ain’t no way Levi doesn’t do a video about it, congrats bro, gm road seems quite easy after beating the top 3 best player!
In a parallel universe Magnus makes videos with Levy as click bait.
You say that, but Hikaru TOTALLY milks Levy for clicks. Compare his Levy recaps to just about anything else. I say that with full appreciation, though. I like both players and want them to succeed in both Chess and streaming.
It's gonna happen in this universe if Levy grows at this rate, wears a blindfold to all his offline games and has no knowledge of who he is playing.

But seriously, great result(s), and nice to see you so buzzed and respectful all at the same time.
the thing is levy is already a GM at heart if he just gets over himself he could actually compete for much more than just "GM".
Levy beating Fabiano Caruana makes me feel like nothing is impossible. This is a good day to be a Gotham fan.

Hey Levy
You probably wont read this, but i really have to say this. I dont comment on UA-cam videos often.
I really enjoy watching your Road To GM and im sure you will achieve the GM title one day.
I have seen your recaps from your last tournament and i have an important point to make.
You seem to struggle psychological and lack a bit of confidence. But you are a really great chessplayer, and these games again Fabi really confirms it.
You shouldnt think that much about your "situation". "Oh, im not a gm", "i have lost a lot of games" etc. But every chess game is the same. You have the same amount of time, 62 squares and they have to beat you! And you are a great chess player, so dont think all too much about, which moves you would play "normally". You have to play your own game, and dont think too much about everything outside the game itself, because you are better than you think. You beat Hans, Alireza and now Fabi. You can achieve great things because you are so dedicated.
So my advice. Just play man. Just play your game. Dont overthink everything. They have to beat you, and that is very ######## hard.
I'm a pro football goalkeeper, and have struggels in the psychological game as well, but this has helped me very much, and i think it would help you too.
So play a move even though you might be scared. You will scare them, because they dont know what you are about to do. You are freaking Levy! And very hard to beat. Yeah, no one wins 100%, but you are better than your result from the last tournament. So stay strong and keep going!
Several of your points sound remarkably similar to a number of things that Levy's official personal coach, GM Arturs Neiksans, has repeatedly told Levy in public. Arturs has also said that it's very important for Levy that his fans help him by encouraging him, especially after some game or tournament did not go too well. So thanks a lot for doing just that!
All the best for your career, too - really sounds like you have what it takes to succeed! ⚽
Those are sweet games, thank you for sharing and props to Fabi for the content! Love you!
Levy looks like the Temu version of Fabi
Gotham looks better

Sir that was a douchey comment made for no good reason.
Thank you very much.
To the point
If anyone is wondering why he didn't take the Rook and then the Knight at 21:19 it's because after Ng4 if Rxf7 Qxf7 Then Bxe7 black can play Qf2+ with a draw
5:26 im sad you didnt say "DANGER LEVEELSS!!!!"
The end of that second game is beautiful. Great work Gotham
At this rate, Levy will even go on to defeat Stockfish(without knowing that it's Stockfish playing) but become a GM. Anything and Everything, but that...
I've noticed that when Fabi plays much lower rated players in no-stakes games, he'll sometimes play weird lines. Not the disrespect-your-opponent style that Magus has, but stuff that feels like it's an idea he's had floating around in his head, and he doesn't think it's going to work, but he wants to try it. The first game here felt like that. The second game felt like he was actually playing (the lost 40 seconds on move 2 notwithstanding), so all the more impressive that Levy got a W.
0:42 ofc you did
😂😂
I mean that's what content creators do so duh
Go, Levy, go! You got this. We love you. We support you. I'll be here cheering for you! 💗
New title: Fabio caruana beats Fabio caruana
This made my night, really hope this turns into a winning streak for you levy.
If it's true that you learn more from losing, then I've learned more about chess than any player in history.
@@weirofhermiston2045 if you learn more from losing then in actual fact all 200 elo players are better than Magnus 🤔🤣
Yall underestimate how many games gm have personally lost or at least studied
Edit: before everyone comes at me saying it's a joke. .... ik. But still I'd bet magnus has lost more game than nearly any 200 has ever played. And the few that have played more gotta be a special case.
I mean the purpose of you learn from losing is for you to win. Learning doesn’t do you much if you don’t ultimately win, at least in chess
Losing is learning. Remembering what you learned is something completely different lol

POV: You are Magnus Carlsen on a Tuesday
its ok levy! You have been working hard on your road to GM. Your Burnt out, tired, over stimulated with chess streaming, tournaments, study, practice, etc. I personally, have found at times when I am improving I might take a few steps back before I go back to moving forward. After learning new concepts, tactics, and theory, I start to see moves I would never normally see, and not see moves I would normally have looked at. Sometimes I don't understand why this moves looks as good as it does, but it shows I am learning and improving sometimes. However, I play the move then lack the positional understanding to still make it work. This only means I am learning but I have much to develop still. Gl and I have been enjoying your video's and look forward to seeing GM Levy making youtube videos
