This last month I have been hit by this cold (Not Covid) which has knocked my training plans off quite a bit. I took a whole week off for the 1st week, then eased myself back in on the 2nd and third. Rolling out of the cold week 2 my power was down. It felt like my engine was broken which played a bit with my head. I remained patient and kept things steady. This vlog is documenting my return to training and its also a behind the sciences, week in the life of a on line coach/ I hope you enjoy it. Got any questions please just ask.
Great stuff. There’s always chance to improve even for older cyclists. After a break of many years, I got back into road cycling. And consistent training lots of Zone 2 being part of that. In the last four years I’ve shed 16kg. Now weighing in at 60kg. I didn’t change my diet, just burnt the calories and eating a healthy diet. And I’ve not been fitter than I am now for many years. I’m 68 now and still love flying up those hills and enjoying being out on the bike. And I feel my longer term health will be much better for it. I look forward to watching more of your vlogs. 🙏
Man it’s wet aroud your place Simon. My bike doesn’t like wet weather 😂. Glad you’re feeling better my friend. It’s indoor cycling here for the next 3 1/2 months with some back country skiing. Enjoy your regained strength and health 😎
Into my third week now with chesty cold and cough. Will wait till I'm fully recovered. I've heard that so many cyclists end up with pneumonia because they tried to come back too early.
One of these days I'm going to watch one of these videos and Simon is going to have a hair out of place. I keep hoping to catch him, but no, it's always a petfectly coiffeured barnet... Even after a sweaty session in the gym. How does he do it? 😂

Yeah it gets wet in the south west. Thanks. Finally feeling better. 👍🏼
Great timing. Just getting over a bad one myself and was asking myself this very question.
Take it easy. Listen to the body. In the first three weeks of I felt like an extra day off I took it.
If I'd known what you were making for dinner I'd have popped round😆, looks great. Can't beat lentil combos!
It’s very tasty. 🤤
Awesome video mate 🤟
Thank you. It’s not easy filming across the week.
@@veloperformance you did a great job 👌

Ooof, today had to cycle in Girona with short bibs & only a jersey, was too hot :D Safe cycling!

Take it easy on your return. Hope you get better soon.
how do you guys ride without gloves in winter i see it so many times and i dont know how you can do that.
It wasn’t that cold some days filming. I seem to have hot hands though as gen start out with gloves but take them off mid ride.
Unfortunately getting fit is a fine line between recovery and effort,so easy to blow your emune system by over doing it.
Good point. Yeah which its good to have a structured plan to keep you from over loading yourself.
