A big surprise from Cooler Master.
Looks like it's in stock on Amazon too for those keen to pick this up!
edit: listings are currently $80 for the base model, a bit more than I was told this morning, but that's still a great deal imo.
Hopefully ITX motherboards reduce in price.
Cool case but it would be even better if you reviewed it with kanye Omari west
Yayayayyaya
To be honest, if transportation is super frequent in your life, most will go the laptop route. 200 Bucks for a case kills the price advantage, and you still need a monitor...
It's $80, not $60. Still quite a steal in terms of a great performing SFF case. By the way, talking of slighlty larger cases, how would you rate this compared to your previous cheap SFF recommendation Cougar QBX and the not so SFF Fractal Define Nano S?
This is going to be the entry-case for new SFF builders. Beautiful.
I'm so down, SFF has such a high entry price because most of them a niche cases. Meanwhile SFF is getting more and more popular than the old standard ATX monsters.
The only thing I don't like is the branding on the front, I'd rather it be a power button
@@milesgaither534 you can maybe put a sticker on it , like a razer one if you are a fan boy 👍 ( joking) , however I think we can't complain about that because the logo they havr put on is still minimalistic in comparison with other company or their other line of cases
@@kingkazma9582 you are not wrong, but at the same time, it really kills the aesthetics having that logo there, vs keeping it a clean and smooth in the front.
@@milesgaither534 the logo is minimalistic. it is better than putting a full blown cooler master logo which would look terrible.
I remember seeing your channel first and was like "Why doesn't this guy have more subscribers? only 10k? There's something wrong here." Now here we are; reaching 300k and cooler master is asking you for advice regarding their case design. Congrats on getting this far and good luck in reaching new heights.
Almost 4 years later and he has over 900K subscribers 😄
Ali, I’m sure I won’t be the only one asking but I would love to see your take on a custom loop in this case.
damn yeah
And please check if there is an option to fit a second radiator in the top or bottom.
already working on it :)
too much space for our sff god
Agreed that'd be dope!
definitely my favourite case for the price, been a huge fan of the Ncase M1 for a long time but to me, it's just too expensive. A case like this is really gonna put pressure on sff case manufactures and maybe they'll consider making a cheaper alternative to their flagship sff cases
The ncase would have been 1/3 of my pc price... a little overkill imo
Boycott the snob manufacturing vultures
I hear ya. I'm not sure how much those smaller case companies can cut, though. They simply can't compete with these HUGE case manufacturers.
How much does it run for cause I added it in my list on PC part picker and it's currently 130 ish
Yes, finally a review on this!
Edit: I think this will be the new budget SFF king, as it offers so much better hardware compatibility than the SG13
Yeah because the sg13 is smaller
wait what leonidas here i used to be a fan of yours when you did tuts and blender 3d mainstream intros lol hi
IDK about *king*, since they are different. Sg13 is geared to be small and versitile and it ~11-12L and this is 18L. But definitely one of the top Mass market budget cases, without a doubt! :D
@@vilebloom oh hi, yeah I somehow got addicted to SFF PCs and how have a Velka 3 xD
@@brandoneich2412 true, but from what I have noticed most "newcomers" to SFF PCs are fine with the extra volume, especially considering the footprint is very similair.
SG13 is just so hard to configure as airflow is a pain, and if you max out the CPU cooler clearance, it will suffocate the CPU fan and it's harder to build in aswell. I think this will convince more ppl to try smaller PCs as it has a more traditional layout like a normal ATX tower.
yesss!!! finally an affordable premium itx case. ITX BUILD HERE I COME !!!
Rewatching an old video and seeing your old intro/logo is ... hearth warming.
Ali with the MKBHD flex like: oh i’ve had this case for months now
Mkbhd does not have even half of Ali's attention to detail tbh
@@random_birch_forest true
Alex Y not as much to cover with his content though
He’s ITX Jesus now.
@@random_birch_forest He actually does (listen to his podcast). He just purposely condenses this down into UA-cam sized information for the masses.
Ahh it's finally here. I've been waiting for this one and Dan's Dancase C4 in development
Love that you're starting to include noise levels in your standard thermal testing methodology.
The intelligence and due diligence put into your videos is top notch. Style as well. I very much appreciate your clean visuals and dynamic b-roll; almost every shot is framed with a pleasant composition and is moving - whether it be a dolly, truck, pan, tilt, or even a rack focus. That is attention to detail many others could learn from.
Always right on time Ali! I was considering this case for my new build.
Me2!!
Same, granted I'm planning it for two months now 🤔
Hope you'll make a custom loop in this case! Looking forward to that showcase.
Fuck me it's amazing how fast your channel grew. I remember when you had below 50k and now you're at almost 300k! It's absolutely well deserved, congrats Ali!
It's a bit crazy how many times I've watched this review in preparation for my build in it haha. Love your work man!
Is awesome to see companies have the “balls” to send prototypes to youtubers and request their input on it. You know if you wanna have a good ITX case just send it to the guy that do that for a living. You will guess that who build those cases know what they are doing but then you have cases like the Era from FD and you realize that they don’t.
The NH-D15 fits perfect once you take out the HDD/Rad panel. It also offers 3D printed ATX PSU adapter, but that limits the GPU you can install. Love this case, so many options. Edit: I also highly recommend a fan controller as fan leads are minimal on iTX boards and it eliminates splitters and allows more granular control, I used a old commander mini and it made managing wires easier and cleaner.
THANKS, just pre-ordered! Perfect size for easier custom loop with options
This is really cool! Definitely like the idea of a custom loop in this case and there’s space to mod/customise the appearance too!
This seems like the best we will get from big case manufacturers at the moment. Not as refined or sleek as the specialist cases but cheaper and more accessable. The B450 of cases.
It looks refined and sleek. Easy to build in, good thermals and noise, and a nice, minimalist appearance. It's just larger than the smallest sff cases.
definitely better than fractal's era
sg13 is still good D:
2 years ago $60. Now it is over $150.
it's $90 dog
I’ve been waiting for something like this, already preordered it. Thanks for the review
Great review. Clear and concise information presented. This is definitely on my wish-list for this Christmas.
Finally a case that offers an excellent value for the price. Hopfeully Coller Master will sell this thing in Germany
You don't see that every day: entry-level price with decent thermals in an ITX case
I think I'll get this instead of nsace m1
I mean, the Cougar QBX has been around for a long time, so you kind of do see that every day in ITX forums
@@ffwast true, but the thermals on this one are likely a lot better (more distance between the bottom and the desk, mesh top). I have the QBX right now but could see myself switching to this one at some point.
I have this case and the thermals are excellent.
@@ModMINI whats your cooling?
Thank you! As you pointed out, just the case we're all looking for! Great review as well... love those velcro straps under the PSU, drove me nuts in the NCase trying to cable manage that birds nest there
Appreciate you taking time to test the thermals.
I look forward to seeing an air cooled configuration in this!
Would love to see an optimal air cooled config with the U12A.
Same, I want to do a Ryzen build in the near future and would maybe just want to do a solid air cooled setup, this case is very attractive. Not too big or small
Same here, already been playing in my mind where to put intakes and outtakes, should you use the reas as intake directly into your U12A, what about the side mount, put fans there to? So many options that has to be done ;)
Same! I love the simplicity of an air cooled system and the U12A is just amazing. But getting that fan orientations right... some optimum tech research would be amazing ;)
I'm currently on a Coolermaster NR400. I love the simplistic look of the cases. I was planning on changing into an ITX build on my next upgrade and now that Coolermaster has released this, it's a no brainer for me to get it.
Finally made up my mind to buy one of these. Made sure to come back here to use your link to do so. Keep up the good work!
Damn this is such a good case for $60!! I was waiting for this case for a long time. I hope Fractal Design make new Core 500 refresh and Node 202 refresh.
I never expected such a clean case from coolermater...
Color me impressed...
definitely the case for my first mITX build. thank you for the review
I'd love to see what people can do for custom loops in this case, especially using the side and bottom for dual rad configurations. Great video Ali, thanks!
Planning my first ITX build when ampere launches. So far it's between this and the H1 for cases. I like the smaller footprint of the H1 but the better cooling and vertical GPU with a side window is getting to me.
Always go for cooling over looks.
It's $79 on Amazon right now. The demand is huge in the SFF market. I hope to see more commercial makers getting a pie in this market.
So happy to see your review, thank you! I’ve been eyeing up this case for the last few days. I really like the look of the glass with alternative layout. When can we expect to see you review this format? Thanks again for the best ITX content out there 🔥
Also, do you think there’s room for an ATX PSU? That’s what makes the Silverstone SG13 accessible too
I’m so glad this case exists! It’s great to be able to recommend a sff case with wide part compatibility and a reasonable price to beginners. Thanks for always staying on top of the latest sff releases and keeping us in the loop!
Way better than the cougar qbx! Although about ~150%-225% of the price of the cougar qbx, but slightly smaller, better looking, and more optimized!
Awesome, I've been waiting so long for this video since the leak on reddit :D Are you planning to do a best air cooling setup for this case? I'm glad to hear the NH-U12A just fits, does it even fit with the tempered glass?
Thanks for your fantastic videos!
Cpu cooler height restrictions are usually not too strict and there is usually 2-3mm of space. I'd wager that a D15 could actually fit, but it would be an extremely tight fit.
Thanks man for addressing this, I had the same question👌👍
Just moved into it after my lovely Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX. It was a hard decision because Evolv ATX is I fockin piece of art. but now I placed my case on a table, moved to wireless headset and mouse, managed my cables well, and absolutely happy with it. Now I can literally hug and stroke my new compact build every time I want haha. I'm on your channel for the last 3 years, thank you for your recommendations and inspiration
Great vid as always!! Sadly doesn't appear to exist on the UK market at present, fingers crossed Scan or Overclockers or Amazon get some in stock soon.
i really hope they will make a micro atx version of this case, with similar size to the cerberus
Now I wish I had waited a month to buy this thing if I knew it was coming out! I decided to go mATX just because I wasn't finding an itx case that I liked.
What a great step in the right direction here by Cooler Master. As you have seen in your comment section as you review all the premium itx cases out there its PRICE that keeps people from really getting into SFF computing more than anything. Availability right behind it. Looking for more big players to get good chassis out in the sub 20L market because the demand is definitely there. Thanks for the review and all your hard work for the SFF community! I will be short listing this case for sure when building machines for friends and family.
i have a newfound respect for you guys building sub 20L. I just built my first SF build, Ryzen R7 5800x, using the Kracken 240mm AIO, ASUS RTX3070 TUF card and the power cables out of the bottom of the Corsair SF750 are touching the GPU and the stiff tubes from the AIO are hard to navigate around the case. Need to watch how you did the cable management around that 7min mark as mine looks crap :)
Great videos by the way, helped me pick my parts and understand PC's of tody.
Finally now let's hope they make more then 1-4 available a year like every SFF case out there.
A slightly bigger NCase m1 with hopefully a better availability and for only 60$, that is insane!
Once again people at Cooler Master are carefully listening to the community
Sweet reveal Optimum Tech! But I wish the top grille grate on the CoolerMaster NR200 was one seamless design and did not have the top I/O but moved it to the front like the NCASE M1.
I used to haul around my cm storm trooper 90L 15kg case, so this case will be very movable for me. Great review!!
one thing curious, where is the 'dust-filter' (they should have and it will be much better)
anyway, its nice and i really cant decide between this and NZXT H1. the temp are fine cuz i won't do any OC.
thanks for the reviews.
sadly it's still out of stock in my region :/
currently in stock on amazon us
EU getting the shaft as always :)
The nr200p is in stock but i don't want the tempered glass.. need that gpu to breath
@@thiccbaron p version comes with the vented panel and an extra top fan. I think because of vertical gpu support it loses the rear exhaust van and mount. Depending on your cooling set up it may still work if you're feeling impatient.
@@michaelhenderson6829 ooh i thought the non p also comes with vertical gpu mount.. Damn
that's really cool that they wanted your opinion on it
This might actually be my new case after having my pc sit on my table without one for 5 years.
Got some gripes -- only sffpsu, no dust filters, no support for drp4 or nhd15 and quite a boring look with a TG panel and radiator installed haha.
Would've loved to see an air cooled build in this case to show the layout without the radiator blocking the view.
Great review as always
I had no idea this was coming. I was all about to jump onto the NZXT H1 train, but those thermals.
I was too until i realised my MSI 2080 Gaming X Trio won't fit in the H1. It won't fit in alot of ITX cases but it will in this.
Me: Perfect affordable SSF case doen't exis---
Cooler Master: wait!
Fantastic case, had it about 6 weeks and loving it :)
I'd buy this for sure! Great video covering it!
“Portability out of question.”
Me: carrying hafx down a flight of stairs and putting it in back of van.
Hi. I want to ask, how do you fly in a plane while carrying CPU? Does it allow?
IG: ayyget wtf?
IG: ayyget oh I didn’t fly. I drove 16hrs :-).
just when I bought my Sharkoon QB one, this came out 😅
Sharkoon is lower in vertical
Sharkoon is a lot smaller.
Perfect sized case imo i just bought a fractal define c for my current build, may buy this for the next.
It's great seeing another affordable sff case from a major manufacturer. While it's too big for my tastes, I like the look and idea of it. Before the only other affordable option was the sg13. Which is still a great case mind you.
Hope this proves successful then we might see more from other manufacturers. Or perhaps a smaller version of this case.
A good cooler master?
What alternate timeline is this, Barry?
ikr
Cooler Master is a company much bigger than most people think. They pretty much manufacture all the OEM and rebranded stuff.
Well, lately they have released several good products like the Cooler Master MasterBox TD500 Mesh
Their NR cases are actually amazing. Build in them all the time at work.
My brother has the C700M and I have the SL600M. Yes they're pricier but both are possibly the most well built and quality cases I've ever used in my lifetime.
I don't associate CM with cheap any more. You get what you pay for with those guys. Their quality stuff is insanely good
Even at $99 for the TG version you also get the mesh side panel included.
**adds to cart**
Lol, that was my same reaction
Whut, really? That's a really good deal :D Know let's hope a can put it in my cart soon hehe
This is exactly what I've been looking for.
Something small enough but not too small.
I already use the SG13, and wanted something bigger but not too big.
Great review and content as always. Love the fact that big manufacturers are finally getting into the well-designed SFF market. I have a comment on the comparison of size between cases, however.
Comparing volumes gives a misleading representation of the actual difference in case dimensions. Our eyes naturally identify the difference between objects in their dimensions not their capacity or volume. The NR200 is certainly larger than the M1 by 40% in volume but visually the percieved difference is much smaller the the 40% would suggest.
It is better to compare the difference in dimension length as such. The average length of a volume = (Volume)^(1/3).
So for the NR200 it would be (18 L x 1000 cm3/L)^(1/3) = 26.1 cm. Doing the same for the M1 we get 22.8 cm. The increase in dimension length is now (26.1 - 22.8)/22.8 = 14.5%. This new figure more realistically represents the "size difference" we perceive between these two cases than the old figure.
I got in the SFF game because of you and please keep making this great content.
Already thinking how i can fir an EK kit into this so i can finally switch out of my node 202!
Damn that's a good price
It's wrong.
Zanpa in what sense?
Already pre-ordered two of them, one of each color. I'm super excited for this lol.
Thanks for the amazing review as usual. Hope to see an air cooled review in the future. Planning a new build to replace my ThermalTake Core V1. Sure its only like 5L size difference, but its half the cost of a Ncase M1.
I kind of wished it was just under 20L to accommodate 165mm air coolers. As much as the sffpc sub-reddit is cool, the it has to be under 18.5L elitism by some is silly.
" I think it's clear that the NR 200 was kind of born out of that exact frustration... just plain lack of availability"
well not much has changed then.
It's back in stock on Amazon!
cant find it anywhere in australia :(
Here's hoping Cooler Master get some headed this way sooner rather than later!
Hoping Umart or Computer Alliance get it in stock in the next few months, I may just upgrade from my QBX.
Ple computers has started selling it
thank you, been waiting for something like this
Awesome! Probably my next build will be with one of these!
A shame this case can't fit the mighty NH-D15
As someone that doesn't want any type of liquid into their system, this is kinda of a dealbreak for me...
It will probably fit, you'll just have to shove down the fan a couple mm...
Scythe Fuma 2 will fit. It's price/perf killer.
altynspiryt kind of torn between that cooler and the Noctua NH-U12A. Thinking of possibly taking the risk and trying to fit the NH-D15S by moving the included middle fan down to make it just 158mm height cooler.
Can you do a collab with kanye west
Why?

Started researching this case online last night and trying to find one to buy and then....BAM the Optimum Tech review lands. Awesome review as usual. Now just gotta find one in stock.
they release in august i think
Yes!! I've been hoping for this for so long! Maybe now some of those boutique case makers will cut some prices.
Loving the reviews, very high quality info!
Thank you! The best channel for this kind of thing)
I'm building a new SFF PC and have found your UA-cam channel invaluable. Just pre-ordered my NR200 on Amazon. They're due out on 15 August. Thank you. Found my case. That's the most important part.
Looks pretty good for the price and I love your videos been following you for a few years now keep it up!
Dang.. just took delivery of a new NCase M1 for a whopping $250 +/- (including shipping) and which took about 8 weeks for delivery. Anybody want to buy it.. haha! The NR200 looks very interesting.. only a bit larger, but better thermals and that price.. right where it should be.. $80 (standard) and $100 (w/glass side and riser) from Amazon (available Aug 15). Looking forward to your additional videos on this case, including different cooling (air coolers) and the window side panel version. Thanks for all the informative and entertaining videos at your channel. Thumbs up!!
Another great review. Since you're planning to revisit your previous reviews anyway, I'm hoping you'll consider having a separate chart strictly for air-cooled builds in the future (some of us aren't comfortable with the potential hazards of liquid cooling, so throwing liquid-cooled setups in the mix can make direct comparisons difficult). Also, since cases like this are a bit on the larger side of SFF, I would be interested to see how this stacks up against the NZXT H200/H210. For that redo I would suggest using a SFX power supply, foregoing the front intake fans, and including an intake fan under the PSU shroud, as this seems to be the most optimal air-cooled setup. Would also be interested to see the cooling performance of the NH-D15 in that case. Cheers
The jonsbo a4 mini is also worth having a look if you're looking for an affordable sff case. Would love to see an optimum tech review of that case 😉
Awesome vid mate, as usual!!
A size comparison between this NR200 and the silverstone SG13 would be great! Maybe also include the Raijintek Ophion!!
Hey Ali, great work as always, still top quality!
The maker of the Dan cases has indicated that the classical layout for the GPU hurts its temperatures. It would therefore be interesting to see the thermals for this case in a configuration similar to the Sliger SM580. Since top fans and bottom radiator could exhaust GPU-air, maybe thats a more optimized config for gamers?
Cheers!
I am so glad you include noise/temp performance numbers instead of just one or the other. The comparative data is useful - could go GN and do noise normalized, DeltaT/Ambient and stuff lol. Still great review, that white version looks goooood...
@Optimum Tech. In your graphs where you show both temperature and noise, consider using the color of the bar as a visual indicator for noise. It makes it easier to at a glance see both the hottest, and the noisiest case
Or even a bar within the bar with a second scale at the bottom
man this case has everything i need, plus those temps are very impressive, i think i will be using this for my 3080 build
Def the one I'm going for. You're also the only reviewer who build this thoughtfully and for performance it seems (imo at least). Two questions though: Is the radiator sitting higher than the pump? And if I go for a 3 slot graphics card, would there be room left at the bottom for 15mm (height) fans? And would this be favorable to having no fans on the bottom and letting the gpu fans do the intake (from a distance)?
Excellent CASE!! Finally a SMF case that makes sense with regards to price. Perfect. Thank you for the review and helping Cooler Master achieving their goal.
I've owned a few cooler master cases in the past and each had some level of plastic cheapness to them. I'm glad to see this doesn't have any of that. I might just pick one up for a future build. Can't beat the price and you don't have to go on a one year wait list.
This will be the new entry SFF case along the Cougar QBX. Thank you CoolerMaster!
Been waiting for this review for very long
Thanks for the videos on that case. I was disappointed in the thermals, therefore performances, of my setup (R5 5600X, RTX3070) in the Phanteks Shift case (I got it for free so I can't really complain that much), and I bought that NR200P in white and I have to say it's gorgeous ! I actually managed to fix a full size ATX PSU inside by removing the bracket and double tapping/tying it up to one side of the case. My GPU is a Zotac 2 fans so it still fits perfectly, I wouldn't be able to fit a bulkier GPU though, maybe if I move the PSU around a little bit but for now it's perfect. In game, I've gained from 20 to 30 degres Celcius ! Thank you again !
Edit : I've read that CoolerMaster is actually working on a bracket to fit an ATX PSU in that case.
Cant believe i havent subbed earlier! Great content. Was debatin on either this or the lian li. Looks like this one wins thermally.
Just moved my ghost s1 build to this case to have more gpu room for rtx 3000 series. This is a very solid case for price. Good video!
