Thank you! On my first crochet project (after practice swatches etc) I made a hexi cardi and wove my ends in as I went. A problem! I realised my stripes were not even width so I wanted to frog quite a few rounds of one of the hexagons. But I'd woven my ends in so securely it was difficult! So I now check everything before I weave in ends.
Thanks for the tips! Now I want some curved tip and chunky needles. I have one metal, 1 plastic and regular sewing needles, that are several generations old. My mom called them "darning needles". I re-use pill bottles for these and lots of things, like earbuds. One tip I use whenever I can is the russian join when adding same color....no ends! Thanks Jennifer!
I loved this video! (And I love your site). You are specific, clear and direct. I will follow you More in the future! I especially liked the tip about how to weave in short ends.
I don't weave in the beginning tail, I crochet it in! Plus it's only about 3 inches long. The ends I use a (smaller) hook to pull the yarn through a few stitches in either direction.
You are welcome! You can find the supplies listed in the description but for your convenience, here is where you can get those needles: Plastic Large Hole Needles (for Chunky/Size 5 & 6 yarn) - Purchase here: amzn.to/2UW00HB
The pattern for that mandala is free on my blog here: celticknotcrochet.com/2018/08/giant-plarn-mandala/.html I hope to have a video tutorial for it some time in the near future :) Thank you for watching!
You can simply work over the tail each next round. You just lay the tail from previous color flat on top of the last row and work as normaly, almost like it wasn't even there, you just have to make sure it is tight, every few stitches you just gently (to not pile up wour work) tug on it in direction you are working. A bit (1cm, or aprox. 0,5inch) before end of tail you just trim it of by the last stitch you made, not to suffer with the split of the very end 😊
I weave them in as I go. So when I’m done the blanket, I’m truly done.
Good for you! Great habit :)

You are welcome! Good tip - thank you for sharing! 🙂 I tend to leave the ends to the end because I want to keep crocheting. 😉
I like the tip to use a paper clip if you are without a needle and that it is OK to tie a knot
Great! Thanks for watching :)

The ends are the worst part of any project 😞
I know they can be - but maybe the tips in this video can help you not dread it as much. :)
