Building a Flip Down Bed Frame for a Custom Built Toy Hauler

Today we show how we built a custom bed frame for my toy hauler. Link to original video at the end of this video. Considered doing a murphy bed or a drop down bed but opted for this setup to keep a low profile. Mattress used is a millard 6" tri-fold. Please subscribe for more content like this.

How you will store matress foam there is no gap between wall and flip over frame usually there is 4 inch or so gap to accommodate matress foam.

I didn't want frame that far off the wall. I fold the mattress up and store it in the front of the trailer so it's out of my way. Thanks for watching!

I did the 4 inch with 3 inches of memory foam topper on it. I prefer dual density since I am a side sleeper. Of course I only need bed for one so mine is only 32 wide.

Great design, would you happen to have a detailed Plan so I can build one for my Trailer?

Unfortunately I don't :/. I just used 3/4" square tube and 3/4" plywood. The plan would have to vary depending on what height the mattress was, what size mattress you wanted (I did a queen) and the trailers width. If i had to do it again i would do a bigger ac unit and would have done a 24' so I could haul 2 machines. Other than that the trailer works great still. At that time this was probably max for the truck I was driving.

Can you give me more information ( name of manufacture) of the mattress ? I couldn’t hear exactly what you said it is. I think I heard Miller sold by Amazon

It's a trifold Millard queen size 6". Now that I've slept s few nights on it, the thing is top notch for sure. Very comfortable and would buy it again!! Thanks for watching!

I think it's a 12k unit. Hindsight I should have done a 14k instead. It works but could use a little more. Thanks for watching!
