- A great video about the genius of Paul Gascoigne. Gazza is widely regarded as one of the most gifted players of his generation. This video contains awesome clips from Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio, Glasgow Rangers and of course from his England career.

Last week I was in Bournemouth and walking down the middle of the town. There was a busker playing a saxaphone and nobody paying much interest apart from a guy all alone . I stopped to listen and looked closely and the guy stood there was no other then Gazza. I swear, growing up in the 80's and 90's he was my all time hero and was not sure wether to approach him. However I did, and asked if I could have a photo taken with him. "Give us a fiver mate for the busker". Without thinking my hand went into my pocket to give him a fiver, then I looked and realised he was joking. I spent a few minutes chatting to him and all I can say is that he was great fun and looked in good health and a total pleasure. It was five minutes of my life I will never forget. They say never talk to your heros but in this case my hero turned out to be just as he was on the football field..quality!
Michael Yeovil really?
Lovely story :D
Michael Yeovil hes a geordie so it would have been gis 😂😂 aye hes class when raul mort or however u say it he went to him ha way raul no need for this let gan do some fishing when the armed police were there 😂😂😂 just a shame hes bashing the alcahol but i hope your right hes stopped drinking
108 thumbs up and zero thumbs down.
Mi6chael Yeovil
As a young English lad in the 90s, Gazza was a hero. Thank you Paul.
Same here. I was about 7-8 at height of Gazza mania though I followed blackburn I always liked seeing gazza on match of the day and grandstand of a saturday
am a lifelong gooner. and I'm sitting here smiling at a load of spurs goals haha. the man's a legend.
respect he was probably the most talented english player ever!! and to think he was pissed half the time confirms it lol
100%
athlough many say hoddle was miles better
andsowot United fan here and I’m doing the same mate! Funny old game football innit! What a legend though.
Players like him are what define the term beautiful game. Such a joy to watch.
You are spot on.
Like Maradona. They might just have too much energy or something :)
shame he was such an idiot
His greatest game .....Italy world cup qualifier in 97 in Rome. Everybody had written him off and he ran the game ,never hid, always wanted the ball .that was a great England midfield that night .Ince, Beckham, and the genius gazza.ironically he said to the TV camera walking off after the game "he will never drop me now ".....Shame Venables wasn't manager for France 98.He would have sorted gazza out for the finals. We missed him badly .
Gazza is and always will be a legend, best England player ever. If you have never battled with alcoholism, drug addiction and mental illnesses you will never understand. Bollocks to all these snide comment, and whoever wrote then...
The man was a football genius, and by his own admission it was his life, he lived and breathed it, when his career ended it was as if there was nothing more to live for, i dont think he recieved nearly enough help at the time Id love to see gazza happy, at peace with himself and contented with life once again.
Warren Murphy I haven't battled with any of those illnesses, but I still understand the strain it put on Gascgoine, I wont judge, noone can. Gascgoine the great!
Fair play Usman. thanks mate..
A waste of talent with an ego the size of a fucking mountain.
punani stretcher please refrain from swearing at me or I will be forced o report you.
Imagine him on social media if we had it back then... lord
His Raul Moat interview was the best thing I ever heard in my life.
That kid is among the best in history, from a technical standpoint.
A true Maestro.
Cheers from Spain.
Correction to the title....the legend that IS and ALWAYS WILL be Gazza....stunning player to watch
+Tara's Old Time Club totally agree
Del2012 just what I was thinking! Watched his Italia90 highlights earlier, amazing player
When I saw the video title, I thought Gazza had died
fuck yeah, always
If gazza would have been under fergie, do you think his life would be different today ???please comment.....absolutely fantastic football brain .
As a rangers fan he is still the best player ever to turn out for us Paul Gascoigne absolute legend simply the best
WHAT A PLAYER....
those skills are just pure instinct..nothing mad about them.
Saw him playing for Rangers against my Hibs a few times. Past his peak, but wow. Our crowd gave him pelters for hitting his wife. We were 3-1 up and lot 4-3 he scored a screamer. Left the pitch to the biggest standing ovation I’ve ever seen Hibs fan give a non hibees player. Very special player
Super player, RESPECT from Brazil.
Thanks bro!
A true talent, I've never seen anyone tackle a pint like it
I gave him a light outside Newcastle train station i never called him gazza I called him Paul...he was a gentleman 5 yrs ago just after my dad passed who loved him..he let me take a picture with him as I said my son was a massive Newcastle fan...truth be known it was for me!!! I just hope he lives longer than what is expected ! Ynwa Paul x
My favourite english player.
Greets from germany.
great player funny lad and there will never be another gazza he's a legend pure daft harmless lad god bless you
These were the players I grew up watching, and made me fall in love with the beautiful game. So much passion.
People forget just how good he was
I watched most of the home games when Gazza was at Spurs. This video mentions his pace off the mark, and that can't be emphasised enough. Players like Bale are fast and have good technical control of the ball but Gazza's pace for the first couple of seconds was just as explosive and furthermore his control was utterly intuitive, like Maradona.
Gazza wasn't the same player after he lost his acceleration due to the second knee injury at Lazio. Plus his personal life became increasingly chaotic. The light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long.
Italia 90 was still the best World Cup I’ve watched, euro 96 was on par, thank you for the memories Gazza ! X
One of the greatest rangers players ever stay sober gazza
Now there's a rare thing, a Scotsman advising some-one to stay sober.
Only joking bud, I'm a Spurs and England fan, and because of that Rangers are my favorite Scottish team. Gazza will always be a LEGEND.
haha ano mate we are a bit mental when we are drunk and yes gazza will always be a legend mon the rangers
loved how he wanted to put back on his boots to help Rangers during liquidation. A Rangers man through and through
allypezz ano legend
nick mcranger i know*
These kits man every single one fire
Am West Ham through and through but love my football and I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about so took myself off to Spurs one Sunday it was a cup game and I remember telling everybody in work the next day this player is something else.
Ronaldinho, Paul Gascoigne and George Best is all I think about when I play every match.
I love Gazza, I wish he was never ill. Love the bit with the lion, oh and the goal against Scotland.
Gazza, well what can be said about him, for me just one word will do FANTASTIC....❤
Excellent. I just feel so sorry for him now. Watching this video has really made me smile, laugh, and feel very good. Thanks to Paul for the memories and I hope he gets his life sorted. Thanks for sharing this.
This era of footy will never surpassed
one of my idols in my younger years
I read in a paper that Oxlade-Chamberlain was England's new Gazza ... that's like comparing a hob nail boot to a ballet show. We love Gazza because he was a genius. The brain of one of the truly greatest ever footballers popped in to the body and soul of a normal working class lad ... I liked Becks, Pearce, Incey and many other English lads who gave their all for the cause like Shearer ... but Gazza was the best. That goal against Pescara ... six touches max around five players. He could slalom.
He’s a legend. Makes me laugh that people rave about foden who couldn’t lay a glove on gazza.
Lace his boots maybe????
Was he a boxer too ?
HA!
Foden has more talent at 20 than gazza, WITHOUT a shadow. Plus.. the game has imorove massively (statement made by all coaches and players across the eras) therefor it stands to reason, the best of today would beat the best of 90s, 80s etc. Fitter, healthier, more tactical, more drilled, technically better. Persobality wise no one could lay a hand on gazza expecially foden, agree on that! But technically.. you ain't got a leg to stand on las
@@tommysmith7462different game in back then but remember gazza done it on the sup
What I like about this the most is that they call him Paul. He really was one of the most naturally gifted players anywhere ever.
GREAT, GREAT PLAYER. World class. He loved playing every game and that, apart from bags of natural talent, is also what sets him apart. Legend.
love this man..met him 3 year ago and he was exactly like i thought he would be. mad as a hatter.
These highlights still send a shiver up the spine. His craft was bar none some of England's greatest moments.
The greatest talent England will ever have.
Yes
Are they even English anymore?
Most naturally gifted player England has ever had.
Scholes?
Shearer?
Rooney's easily englands best player ever. Just a pure footballer.
Lol to all the comment replies
@@kieranoconnor0 agreed. All those other players mentioned usually needed others to bring out their best, but Gazza could make something happen out of nothing. Not many players like that in the world, let alone England.
That Tottenham free kick's his finest moment (for club)
The goal against Scotland's legendary (for country)
Nice to see for an 40 yrs old man from Hamburg his 90s Idol wears the old school Holsten jersey
He sure did prove his geography teacher wrong..."1 in a million". Amen
Paul “daft as a brush” Gascoigne. What a player and one of the best England has ever had. Great memories watching this back.
Flawed geniuses but everyone has a core memory of this man, he’s the type of guy you could drink with party with lift you if you was down Christ his so charismatic most would follow him over the trenches he’s just one of the boys and always has and will be and an absolutely in the talk for our greatest ever player but geniuses comes at a cost.
Gazza man! What a player! What a guy!, can't help but love him! from a mackem in Sunderland 👋
What a player: Tottenham, Lazio and Rangers Glasgow legend.
One of the best players I ever saw in my life, Glasgow rangers legend 🇬🇧
Brought back some
Happy memories watching this
Legend, I wish him all the best. Hope he's calm and contended. He's a god at ibrox, never forgotten .
you just remember this gazza------500K rangers fans havnt forgot you
I'm 54 and I've never seen a better player than gazza the guy was a genius .his best football was at rangers 💙
Im from southamerica and Ihave to say Gascoine is one of few europeans players with balls in time. Personalidad y caracter å monster. In the wc 90 England shut it play the final against Argentina. Sorry for my poor english
Love love love Paul Gascoigne, always have, always will. Amazing man
Man, we are desperate for a player like him for the England team. A creative and unpredictable player is the only thing we are really missing
Bellingham
thanks for this video.I think GAZZA is the best of his generation and the good player in englend for rever
Wow forgot all about that 96 england goal. Man that was iconic.
There hasn't been a player like him in England since
Not just a great talent but a great personality u couldn't help but love.
Such a pity that 1991 injury happened to him. What a natural talent.
That was!?!?
Still is and always will be.
Bless his heart.
I met him in Dubai a few years ago and he is a lovely guy.very approachable and funny. Let’s hope he can conquer his drink problem.❤️
Another world class player to come from Newcastle united.
What a Legend.
Good player!
Gazza and Maradona were amazing when I was growing up. Legends
great upload
that last goal of the video..one of my favorites.
I wish we could produce more Paul Gascoignes,, what would he be valued at today's prices, a real game changer, mad as a box of frogs, but what a fantastic footballer
The last goal was fantastic. This guy had balls!!
gives me chills...
Chills down the spine.
Best English footballer with the ball at his feet, a buzzer to....
The best and no one will ever match him.
great video !
3.50 those 90s retro colours are amazing
It's incredible to think that within my lifetime England now cannot produce a player even half as good as Paul Gascoigne. His all-round play, two footed ability but best of all his attacking drive are coached out of current players. Gan on Gazza lad. Yer a legend.
I’ve heard that Phil Foden is supposedly the next Gazza! Lol.
How we didn't win in 90 I'll never know. Feckin penalties
There were far better teams and players...Germany with Matthaus, Brehme, Klinsmann, Vöeller, Littbarski...Italy with Zenga, Maldini, Vialli, Baggio, Mancini...Argentina with Maradona, Caniggia, Balbo....Brazil with Dunga, Careca, Romario.
That year there were seriously some outstanding phenomenal players plus...most of the ones I listed plated regular season in Italian Serie A so they were used to the stadiums and environment, they basically all "felt at home" while England was a fish out of the pond with 100% of the rooster playing in the UK excepts Chris Waddle in France.
@@claudemagicbox3099 there may have been better teams but once you’re in a semifinal position you have to fancy your chances. Plus Argentina only just scraped out of the group stage in third place. Wasn’t a great World Cup in general but it was for English supporters.
@@claudemagicbox3099 Brazil werent that good in 1990
Won 1 game in 90 mins that's why. Bloody Egypt
Yes how very sad Gazza was one of those players that you could say come around once in a generation, had the class& skill not many are born with.I remember his whole career from when he made that big move to Lazio when Serie A was you could say the biggest league in the world& also euro 96 the sublime skill I remember him at Italia 90 maybe that's where he let the world know Gazza had really arrived.I hope he can get better C'mon Gazza let the legend live on:)
What a brilliant player
what a strange combination of molecules that was paul gascoinge, a genius at times without a doubt
The legend that IS Gazza.
Genius ! Geordie x
He certainly made watching England a lot more fun for many years. Class stood out in often weakish teams.
The legend who is. Not even going to watch this. I seen his every goal anyway and watch them all time. Do not insult Paul.
Gazza was one of the world's best for sure
Always and still is a legend
one word covers it.....genius.
Pure class.
Mucho Respecto From Holland ❤️
Stunning player for all the time
IMMENSO PAUL !!!!!!!!!!!
When he came to Rangers I believe we got his best years on form he was unplayable stay fit and well Paul welcome at Ibrox anytime
im not just singling those two out, but they are up there with the greats, there is no particular order because not everyone will agree and they all have great cases to argue for
As a west ham fan i can say that gazza was a fantastic player.
That is...he aint dead
My favorite player
He got talent
He young Gazzer could had been able to see himself in the future he would have had something to cry about.
People criticising him due to his injuries, mental problems and drinkign problems and some saying a waste of talent. Gascoigne nearly got us to both a world cup and European final, being the star player in probably the best two England sides in my lifetime and had the guts to go abroad, where he was successful when fit. Achieved far more for his country than any of the next big things Joe Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Barkley, Wilshire etc etc. For me the most talented and successful English player for his country. Great player and personality during his career
Awesome gazza
