One of the greatest players of all time, and for me the best player ever produced in the UK. Outstanding talent, incredible dribbling, free kicks and the way he "passed " the ball into the net with either foot, his heading wasn't bad either. . In his day no one....could touch him. Thanks Gazza
As an old time Lazio supporter, I'm glad you added some of his best goals with our jersey. He's been a spark of blinding light after years of (technical) darkness, he's been probably one of our best players ever, and would've deserved to win something. He'll be always remembered with love by us all!
He was the best player in the world. Very briefly, possibly for 12-18 months, but at one fleeting moment England had the best footballer on the planet.
Without a shadow of a doubt. Even when Gazza played against other greats of the time, he made them look like Sunday league players, such was Paul's greatness. He made elite world class players look like bambi on ice. He ghosted world class defenders like they were standing still. His touch was absolutely sublime, easily matching Messi and Ronaldos touch. Watch when Gazza dribbles, the ball looks like it's glued to his boots. His close control is absolutely outstanding. Impeccably so. Almost perfect... As close to perfection as we're ever likely to see again, anyway. I could harp on about Paul Gasgcoine all day long, and I would too, given half a chance. He summarises EVERYTHING that is beautiful about this sport we love, and in England, the very home of this beautiful game, Paul Gasgcoines' name will forever be remembered as probably the brightest star England ever had. I love the man to bits. England's greatest.
Definitely the speed that was the surprise for me here. Incredible dribbler, especially at that pace, but it's funny how often he could just knock it one side of someone and run past.
If he was disciplined and didn’t spend most of his free time partying and drinking too much, we would be talking about the best player of all time. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player with as much natural talent as Gazza.
His two best goals for me was the free kick for Spurs v Arsenal in 91 FA Cup Semi-Final (Seaman one of the best Keepers around at that time left stunned) and THAT goal v Scotland at Euro 96. Arguably the finest footballer England's ever produced, up there with the likes of Best, Cruyff, Messi and Maradonna for sheer skill alone.
I know it's the Scottish league, but that game against Aberdeen he scored all 3 goals to win the game - -and the league on the last game of the season. He was knackered, and probably hungover, but tell me who else in the world could have done that?
Gazza had a presence on and off the pitch. He lived for football. A great, great player. I feel blessed to have seen him play. Hold it up Gazza and thankyou for what you brought to beautiful game.
Gazza wasn't just a footballer. He was an entertainer. Everything he did was for the audience. Sometimes he would try things which seemed bizarre in certain scenarios because he wanted to entertain. Completely unpredictable and all done with a gleeful cheeky grin. The best in my lifetime. But we only got about 40% of what should have been a glittering career.
The best runner from midfield you’ll ever see and the absolute master of the dying art of taking the ball around the goalkeeper with consummate ease !!
He was gifted with a magical touch, and incredible strength on the ball. Just like Maradona, you knew that as soon as he got the ball he could hold it, move and the magic would flow.
There is no one else with the possible exception of Bobby Charlton who iis anywhere near this incredible man! He is England's forerunner of Messi and Pele. If our system in the UK was truly righteous, then it would have 'knighted' him and given him a prestigious pension for his life. If the system had done that, perhaps it could have spared him from all his subsequent problems. Shame on our system, and still Glory for Paul Gascoigne. Send a donation to him today. Your love and kindness will surely touch this great man's heart. He may die soon. Do it today to show your appreciation.
He made it look effortless, going around people, making the goalkeepers look silly with a drop of his shoulder and the time hr had on the ball before he put it in the net , with either left or right boot, magnificent 😊
Tremendo. Rápido de piernas y de mente, gambeteador de arqueros, mejor pateador de tiros libres. El gol que hace pateando de rabona el penal, a Irlanda del norte, es de otro planeta, nunca visto. Toro
I'm no Rangers fan but the Gascoigne & Laudrup partnership was dynamite. Gazz played his best football at Tottenham & Rangers, but I think living in Glasgow with our lax attitudes to drink helped hasten his downfall. The best player to never play for Man United as they say.
What an absolute legend bringing quality and professionalism to the game. What a joy to watch, he'll be remembered always as one of the greatest footballers that ever lived.
My god how quickly we forget the genius that was paul gascoigne, pele I’m sure would be cheering and England fans should be so proud of him. Love ya gazza👍👍❤️
Without the drink and the horrible injury he suffered, we would be talking about Gazza the same way we talk about Zidane. Controversial statement, but I actually think Gazza was technically a better player than Zidane. The first touch and elegance are similar but Gazza had better finishing and dribbling.
I'll always remember that goal against Scotland Euro 96 ! I predicted Seaman's save, then once we had cleared the corner, got the goal kick, out to, I cant, a little one two on to Gazza flicked it over the last defender & hits it on the volley GOAL, two nil & night Jocks Magic 😁
England needs a player like Gazza now. If you have watched 1 of the documentaries about him you will hear him talk about watching the World Cup in 1974 and seeing Cruyff do his infamous Cruyff turn and Gazza said after that match he took his football into the yard and kept trying to do the Cruyff turn. That's what kind of football he tried to play. His hero was Cruyff and you can tell by the football he played.
Wish I could remember the game I saw it in. Paul gascoine was on the ball just on the halfway line ,he chipped it up into the air AND WAS UNDER IT WHEN IT REACHED THE PENALTY BOX!!! This guy passed to himself and scored!!!!! Unbelievable.
England v Scotland Euros 1996. Hendry the player he chipped was considered one of the finest centre backs at the time, which made the feat greater because of Hendry’s reputation.
When you see footballers diving in the corner sliding on their stomachs after scoring a goal, you can thank Gazza that. He first started that when playing at Lazio. PS. Englands best player ever.
I never saw Matthews or Charlton play and judging from highlights and testimonials, they are probably the only 2 british born players that can be mention in the same breath as gazza. I have yet to see another England player do what Gazza did on the pitch. He was a complete player. Even though we never got see his full potential, he is without a doubt one of the and possibly the greatest player england has ever produced..
Todays kids are always banging on about how Messi sat down Boateng before scoring. Gazza used to make the whole back 4 and goalie sit down before scoring! I think he invented it based on these clips.
When you watch players like Gazza, Zidane, Messi, Maradona they have their own unique style or set of abilities that allows you to almost think they’re playing on some sort of cheat mode, or that the laws of physics don’t apply to them in the same way as the rest. You can describe a move or a skill a normal football player does occasionally as Gazza-esque or Zidadne-esque. Having said that, there is one sportsman from the UK that is genuinely a true ONE of a kind. A savant level hyper-genius in his sport the like of which is very much unlikely to be seen again. I am of course talking about Ronnie O’Sullivan. Should be Sir Ronnie. In terms of raw innate natural ability in his sport, he’s the best there’s ever been in any sport ever. 🎤drop.
@@partyguinness I agree, noone comes close, but I meant that after Maradona Gascoigne was possibly the best player in the world for a while, at least til Zidane
No doubt, one of the best footballers to ever touch the green! What could have been. Messi yes, Ronaldo yes, mbappe yes, but if Paul had someone other jimmy five bellies on his side he would have been the ultimate best! FACT!
Many of the pitches would not make the grade these days either for smoothness and being level. Those old pitches were more like a farmers field in comparison to today.
At his peak, untouchable player. One our football geniuses...

Personalmente il piu' grande calciatore inglese di tutti I tempi grandissimo GAZZA.
I had forgotten just how quick he was! And that trademark step around the keeper, I could watch that all day...
Definitely the speed that was the surprise for me here. Incredible dribbler, especially at that pace, but it's funny how often he could just knock it one side of someone and run past.
The parallels between Gasgoine and Best are so obvious. In football and life.
Yep, the archetypal working-class troubled genius like Garrincha, Best, and Alex Higgins.
George knew it back in the day too. Have a look at The Wogan Interview.
..absolutely, and that "joke" about spending all his money on women and booze and squandering the rest, is
funny, and tragically true.

Best English footballer of all time and a great great character hope he beats his demons it aint easy dont judge him !! 👍🏴🦊

Young man you forget the other alcoholic, who played for Man Utd.
How could he be the forerunner of Pele? Pele had long retired when Gazza came along.
He was Northern Irish
There are more worthy people to be knighted than gazza, you need to have displayed exemplary service to your community/country first

Great video 👍
His gift was football a genius . When not playing he was a very messed up man .
Form is elusive, class is permanent.
Mesmerising talent
he beats the goalkeepers as easily as R9
Ease up
Stop. R9 has light years better hands exchange.
I'm always surprised by how many of his highlights come from his time at Rangers. I always assumed that he was well past his best by that time.
scottish footy is shite?
Imo he played some of his best football for Rangers, we will always remember you Gazza,WATP 🇬🇧👍
The greatest player of all time.
Wht a shocked penalty he scored..😱😱😱💪💪💪👍👍👍👏👏👏
What a supreme player of his generation 👏 without doubt one of the greatest ever.

the best player in English football hstory. its a shame he was so troubled at a personal level
If the England Team had Paul now with the talent we have and coming through we would be World Champions 🏆a Ridiculous Talent ❤
So many goals against Peter Shilton!
So many punches he gave to his wife scum at the highest 😳
