    Thank you so much for making this review. It's hard to find reviews for tech by women (men are great don't get me wrong). But for things like this, I need to know about how it feels on a smaller wrist. And how pretty it looks IRL. I want the rose gold and wanted to see how it looked in real time.

    First off. I love your videos. Its nice to see that at least a few people take the time to construct review pages that take overall usability and spec information rather than reviews that are very obviously favorable to certain brand names due to the numbers that were written in the lines of a check. Great vids, keep it up :)

    First i'd like to say, as always, great review Lisa. Keep up the good work. For those unsure of a reason to purchase a smartwatch, i'll tell you why. I work in retail, and there isnt a day that someone comes in with a broken screen, stolen phone, phone fell in water while fishing etc. Think about it, if you have your phone secure in your pocket, purse, and you receive a text, email, phone call, facebook noticfication , your watch will ring or vibrate or both. If its important you can reply with your smartwatch, or take out your phone and type away. If not, continue doing what you were doing. My point is the a big reason for cracked screens, is taking your phone in and out of your pocket or purse.
    I own the Samsung gear S, and the Note edge, which is a large phone. My Gear S has 3g capabilities which allows me to leave my phone at home while I take short trips, while still receiving texts, emails, phone calls etc. I also have 400 mp3s loaded on my watch so while i'm out and about I can listen to music using my bluetooth headphones, or stream Samsungs milk music.
    Of course all this depends on your budget and needs, but for me, I go home after and 9 hour shift with 75 percent battery life on my phone because im not contantly taking my phone out. Just my 3 cents.

    Hi Lisa - Awesome review!! I have a question. Can you please tell me if the upcoming Moto 360 sport(i.e. the gps version) can automatically sync the time with any given location(without the need for a smartphone) ? similar to other GPS HYBRID WAVECEPTOR watches like the Casio GShock GPW -1000 , Casio OCEANUS OCW-G1000, MRG-G1000 Atomic Solar hybrid etc.
    Thanks!

Just in case, Im thinking of get moto 360 2 42mm, however, as I return my old one because the battery was really bad, Im concerned about it, because 42mm has a smaller battery. Hi Lisa. you mentioned that the watch can still tell the time even when he its out of bluetooth range. how does he do it ? does the battery save the time until its over or something ? and if it is, so that actually means that after the first sync i can actually use it as a watch only even without the phone, am i right ?

  • @sledhead722
    @sledhead722 9 років тому

    The ambient light sensor is there as a by product of the unused space. The reason the flat tire exists because that's where the display drivers are so the watch can have very thin bezels.

    • @mobiletechreview
      @mobiletechreview  9 років тому

      +sledhead722 Not so sure that's true anymore since the Hauwei watch is the same size with similar bezel sizes and it doesn't have a flat tire.

    I wonder how long it took people to accept the wrist watch over the pocket watch? I really can't wait for fashion trends to start accepting new concepts like a digital bracer. The watch face is simply too small to be very useful to me. Just imagine a forearm iPhone that is set on the palm side.

    +MobileTechReview lol, whenever you were talking about the "Okay Google" features, you kept activating it on my 1st Gen Moto360. Also, on that, I will be getting the second gen, I think, but after a year with the first gen, I can say, it really is an amazing device. Also, to anyone on the fence about getting a smart watch-- GO FOR IT. It seems silly to some, but I've gotten so used to having it, if I'm not wearing it, I feel naked. It really does make life easier.
    The one thing I WISH Moto would incorporate on these damn things is a speaker so you can take calls directly on the watch, like the Apple Watch and LG does. It's honestly kinda dumb that you can answer the call from your wrist, but still have to clamber for your phone. The only times it does work are in the car, when my phone is already connected to BT or when I reject the call-- looking at you, American Red Cross!

    Within 14 days, trying to decide between gear s2 vzw 3g and moto 360 2nd gen. Is there a way to make 360 background other than white? The gear s2, while watch *really, very*unattractive for me as a woman .... the crispness of the black background with white text is a huge positive! Obviously the $5 VZW phone feature another positive. But 360 looks much nicer and many more apps in Android wear. Google voice on 360 much better than s voice which almost NEVER responds with an appropriate answer. Help .... decisions!!!

    I'm a guy and I spend 3 hrs a day caring about my fashion sense.I do this to look attractive (unlike some here, who could that be ?) and to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions. for those men's watches: small and thick does the trick ! I think women who wear man size watches tend to be more masculine.

    I don't like these circle framed watches. The square ones like the the apple watch the first generation of GEAR watches and others are more futuristic and better to touch. if someone wants to get a fancy looking watch go traditional but everybody switching to the circle frame watches and none are really good looking. i hope apple stays with the square frame next year or ill have a the first apple watch until its to slow and wont work.

      +Experiment Eks If you like to stay connected to the world around you... if you are even an average user of a smartphone, I can promise you from over a year of using one that I'll NEVER go back! Personal experience speaks volumes more than an article where someone used one for a week. I can promise, if you're even having thoughts about one, you'll love having one. If you just want one to have it... that's up to you. I can say, however, that it's SUPER annoying the number of people who ask me about "them fancy new phones for your wrist, huh? I thought about getting one of them... please, give me a full review right now, so I don't have to actually research it, even though I'm never ACTUALLY going to buy one." Really, that's the ONLY downside I've noticed. LOVE my Moto360!

      was fiddling with an Asus Zenwatch at the store. Where I'm from, not many people have used a smartwatch and I can't rent one for a short time to get the feel and experience. So I'd like to read about it first before I'd spend money to buy one. So far, most articles I've come across just talk about specs of smartwatches but not really focusing on benefits.

    • @unluckynumbersleven
      @unluckynumbersleven 9 років тому

      That's kinda why I said from personal experience, I can tell you, I can't imagine going back to not having one. I feel like that's better than reading a review of specs...
      strange...

    • @experimenteks3974
      @experimenteks3974 9 років тому

      I know nothing beats personal experience but I have no means of testing any smartwatch unless I buy one so I want to read the pros and cons before I part away with my cash and try it out for myself. I was hoping I could read articles focusing on their practical uses especially when it comes health and fitness but what I'm seeing are mostly tech specs of these watches and only very little of the practicalities of owning one.
