As a runner, I'm really excited about the moto 360 sport. It brings a lot of unique features to the smart watch. The moto 360 2 doesn't seem too different from its predecessor to be worth the price.
I hope they make the Mono link band available for the 2nd gen but also as a separate purchase so you can pre-order your watch now and get the band later.
is there any difference in features from 1st and 2nd gen? because i can buy a 1st gen for as cheap as 119... compared to the 2nd gen's 300 dollar price tags. Im just looking for casual smartwatch features, with steps/heart rate/calorie burn. Thanks!
i saw new not used moto 360 v1 on ebay for 50$ with free shipping but it stayed there only for 1day and the seller increased the price to 80$ wich was there fo another 2 days im sad that i missed this good deal because if i oder the refubrished\used ones the shipping costs more than the actual watch for me :(
I have no idea which combination on motomaker to choose, I only have $229 to spend so I can only afford the cheapest one of 42mm with no added extras. which colour combination do you recommend for me?
Hi All -Could you please tell me if the upcoming Moto 360 sport(i.e. the gps version) can automatically sync the time with any given location(without the need for a smartphone) ? similar to other GPS HYBRID WAVECEPTOR watches like the Casio GShock GPW -1000 , Casio OCEANUS OCW-G1000, MRG-G1000 Atomic Solar hybrid etc.
Looking forward to the review, I really like the smaller version of the watch. I played with the gear S2 at IFA and the UI looks like it came from the S2, you can even change the font to "chocolate cookie", so bad
you can put the Moto 360 1st gen to have its ambient screen on all the time all you need to do is go onto Android wear disable tilt to wake leave ambient screen on and there you go a Moto 360 with its ambient screen on all the time.
+FireLight Bailey I have the first gen and haven't played with the second. So my comparison is from just what I've seen in videos. I can tell you if changing bands is important to you and you plan on doing it often, I would go with the second. Also, I would go cheaper just because of the fact of "what if you don't care for a smartwatch" I wear it daily because i feel naked without it. I cant say I actually "use" it though.
Nice video. I guess the more I see this the more I am warming up to it also. I own the first generation Moto 360 and I do like some of the improvements but if I could nit pick, I don't like that the color will change when charging. I really like the blue color. The lugs bothered me but I can see what you pointed out in the video in it being a benefit in changing straps easier which is cool if you want variety. I just hesitate to jump on this since I got my first gen for a lot cheaper. I guess I can wait for the price to come down like I did the first time around.
glad I bought the cheaper one. pretty much the same thing with both. the 2nd gen is like $150 more and for what? a brighter screen? yeah I like my money, moto needs to stick with affordable, especially since this is new technology still
The lugs also make the band attach-points stick out far further from the 360's body than previously, making the smaller body a necessity for smaller-wristed people who could have gotten away with the original 360's tighter attachment-points. Bezels also look larger in the newer watch, a disappointment. A lack of an OLED screen is a deal-breaker for me - I'll wait for the NEXT generation to update my 1st-gen 360, if they decide to improve that spec.
I'm getting the first gen cause the newest it's not worth the money. Total disappointment with Motorola. Same thing happened to the nexus 6, total fail. they should stick to the budget friendly marketing strategy other wise they sucks delivering premium gadgets
+jpdc hd I see your point. I have the first gen and I've had it for about one year. The back cracked about six months ago which is a flawed design. Think it's alot less waterproof now . However If you can live with the probability of that happening then go for the first gen.! :)
+jpdc hd when the 1st gen was released it had the same 300$ price tag, it just went down over time like any other tech product. The nexus 6 was a great phone and the 6p is a lot better, the 5x is also amazing so Im not sure what your on about m9!
I bought the 1st gen 3 days ago over the more expensive and not that different 2nd gen. But we'll see next year's model. Maybe they will finally be able to get rid of that flat tire thing.
+Toby May well ofc 2 is better. but the question is...does it worth to buy 2 over 1? bcuz it's 150$ difference...so ye... anyway I will buy 1st too in 1-2 weeks. still watching around if there's anything better and not way more expensive than moto 360 v1.
who has experience with the screen cracking on the 1st gen? and can you tell me if it cracks easily and if it ruins the watch? it looks like a deal-breaker for me. appriciate the reply's.
ok i know its a weird thing to say but it actually is 3 sizes 46mm watch and 42mm (for men the 42 men uses 20mm band) and the 42 mm women uses a 16mm band
Having that flat tire just make it look good only with black watch face especially if you have stainless steel bracelet, They should have solved this problem before tackling any other improvement.
I was thinking of buying the cheaper last gen 360, but now I'm not convinced. The display brightness is really not up to mark and after seeing it with the new gen side by side, I will always resent the screen. But again, the new gen is considerably expensive, which makes things wayyyy more complicated. I'm really confused.😕
I must be one of the few that isn't bothered by the black bar at the bottom. I thought I would be buying the 2nd Gen Moto 360... I guess not. the 1st Gen looks waaaaaay better. I don't see much of and improvement here
I'm sorry but with its internals and the regular watch lugs it's only just now catching up to 1st gen Android Wear watches and because of that I can't justify that price.
Am I the only one that doesn't care about the flat tyre
+Michael Fisher, is that ambient sound really from IFA or canned? Sounds too clean. (I am a sound editor) LOL
+Migz Cuad It's from IFA, but the VO was recorded at the Intel booth, not at Lenovo. ^M
+Pocketnow you have nice recording gear then! Great videos as always.
+The Dude LMFAO

Michael Fisher: Best tech reviewer!
yes
+Tobias A. G. At PocketNow? Yes. Best tech reviewer in the world? Nope.
+Tony JK please don't tell me you think mkbhd is the best, Michael Fischer blows away most reviewers
+Tobias A. G. He is a good tech reviewer, I like It, but what about MKBHD?
nope Detroit Borg is the best tech reviewer.
Can't wait til 2016 for the Moto G 360, only $79, A Smartwatch on a budget
Hi in 2020 lol
2021 checking in, Moto G Watch expected to be released in June
huawei, or gear 2 classic is on my mind.
+PTM Yep, the 2 best looking smartwatches.
+Adazee Imarhiagbe I would agree but... The gear 2 isn't android wear I don't think.. and I'm pretty sure the Huawei watch is pretty expensive.
+Adazee Imarhiagbe I agree although I personally think the huawei watch looks better
+PTM I'm in the same boat but I just can't bring myself to actually want/like Tzizen (sp?)
+PTM Bought mine on Amazon has the best price www.amazon.com/Motorola-Moto-36zer0-Black-Leather/dp/B00NC8PMUK/?tag=ref10-20
What camera are you using at 0:11 ?
Huawei watch vs moto 360 2nd gen?
+Mike Wu huawei looks way better, and i think it's oled, but i'm not 100%
+Nathan Jones but it's also the most expensive Android watch at 399$+
+ Denis Voss $350 is the starting price
+Mike Wu Moto
So does the means the 1st and 2nd Gen difference are brighter display and bigger battery?
*Flat tire* after one year of developpement and the flat tire is still present -_-
It's for the ambient light sensor. It's either flat tire or huge bezels around the side.
Apple didn't have a problem
+Daniel Abdelsamed Apple watch has larger bezels tough
+Emil Bondesson And it still looks better than the Moto 360
+Daniel Abdelsamed Apples watch is ugly as fuck
As a runner, I'm really excited about the moto 360 sport. It brings a lot of unique features to the smart watch. The moto 360 2 doesn't seem too different from its predecessor to be worth the price.
In my opinion, oled is best for a smart watch. Even apple realized that haha.

Are the charging bases compatible to both generations?
Is this 2nd gen Moto360 compatible with both Android AND IOS??
I hope they make the Mono link band available for the 2nd gen but also as a separate purchase so you can pre-order your watch now and get the band later.

not that ive seen. link?

Already have the 1st gen and I think I will stick with it. Thanks for helping me decide.
Good review !!
Flat tire is a deal breaker for me. I have the 1st generation 360. Ima give Samsung S2 a chance. I love the new UI!?
I use this watch till today. Switched the battery couple of times but still the best looking smartwatch.
I have no idea which combination on motomaker to choose, I only have $229 to spend so I can only afford the cheapest one of 42mm with no added extras. which colour combination do you recommend for me?
what the hack is that black bar at the bottom of the watch faces?
Everyone calls it the "flat tire". You get used to it after wearing the watch for a while.
How come no one talks about microphone, can you call from it?
so which is best 1st gen or 2nd wht should do I buy
+pocketnow no speaker to playback music from watch or take phone calls?
Flat tire is a let down. Looks rubbish when you have a white background. Meh, Huawei gets my money
+RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 then dont put a white background....
Is there a way to use this smart watch with an iPhone?
2:18 is that a dead pixel? D:
Hi All -Could you please tell me if the upcoming Moto 360 sport(i.e. the gps version) can automatically sync the time with any given location(without the need for a smartphone) ? similar to other GPS HYBRID WAVECEPTOR watches like the Casio GShock GPW -1000 , Casio OCEANUS OCW-G1000, MRG-G1000 Atomic Solar hybrid etc.
00:28 "If I could turn back time....."
These look sick!
I like the textured bezel..
Looking forward to the review, I really like the smaller version of the watch. I played with the gear S2 at IFA and the UI looks like it came from the S2, you can even change the font to "chocolate cookie", so bad
Hello is the moto 360 2 women edition good for men too ? And what's the bigger : gear 2 or moto 360 42 mm ? ⌚
I was really hoping for a higher definition display this time
Just got the 1st gen moto 360. Really liking it. Not worth the extra $200 for a few minor improvements.
Michael, IFA is coming to end . What do think is the best product u think
I can't wait to get my hands on this new moto
Is it worth going for this rather the 1st gen.
They will be serious price cuts soon..
Hence i ask
you can put the Moto 360 1st gen to have its ambient screen on all the time all you need to do is go onto Android wear disable tilt to wake leave ambient screen on and there you go a Moto 360 with its ambient screen on all the time.
should I get the First Gen? Or Second Gen? Cause I really want one...
i still have the 1st gen after a year and it's still working fine.
+Simon 7788 thanks friend! :)
+FireLight Bailey I have the first gen and haven't played with the second. So my comparison is from just what I've seen in videos. I can tell you if changing bands is important to you and you plan on doing it often, I would go with the second. +MrPink Do you like it, any issues because I've had one and loved it ;)
Does it support iOS device?
Nice video. I guess the more I see this the more I am warming up to it also. this comment aged about as well as the watch itself.
Your favorite smart watch M - it's looks ok but prefer a more sturdy look in the lg watch
Can you do a throwback review of HTC One X? It would be nice, I wanted this phone a few years ago ^^
can i access my phone's photo gallery on the watch?
and will this watch connect with xiaomi mi3 mobile?
glad I bought the cheaper one. pretty much the same thing with both. the 2nd gen is like $150 more and for what? a brighter screen? yeah I like my money, moto needs to stick with affordable, especially since this is new technology still

Moto 360 without lugs, without flat tire, with Samsung Gear S2 Rotating Bezel Control... And infinite battery please. THANKS!
Very nice but I think the full spec Gear 2 offers a lot more in terms of features.
that flat tire make the moto360 and the fossil Q out of my future watch choice, wanyway very good review
Can i am use this watch on iphone ???
Gear S2 is the watch to beat.
+Snaiper Suji Mayne totally agree
Snaiper Suji Mayne No mobile payments it is a waste
Jeremiah Bromell you could use wifi
***** No lol. Go look on Reddit and many tech sites. They are claiming it to be the smart watch to beat.
Damn straight
I have had horrible customer service with motorola any tips?
which smart should i buy moto 360 2nd gen. or any another?
smart watch*
Prabhjot Singh the gen 2 is very good if you are on a budget but the lg smart watch is nice but cost a little more
I'm getting the first gen cause the newest it's not worth the money. Total disappointment with Motorola. Same thing happened to the nexus 6, total fail. they should stick to the budget friendly marketing strategy other wise they sucks delivering premium gadgets
I like how it looks honestly, the newer one might look more formal but I like how casual the first 360 looked.
its worth the money its just that youre poor
+jpdc hd I see your point. I have the first gen and I've had it for about one year. The back cracked about six months ago which is a flawed design. Think it's alot less waterproof now .

can someone help me decide between this or gear s2? and also is there really a huge difference between the first and second gen? THANK YOU
it has the same processor as my almost 1 year old Lg g watch r?
I bought the 1st gen 3 days ago over the more expensive and not that different 2nd gen. But we'll see next year's model. Maybe they will finally be able to get rid of that flat tire thing.
"we learned to create a smartwatch without a flat tire" -Motoliers
behind the camera is a good place for Mr. Huseman
The state of that leather strap.
Guess I need to save some pennies. As a 1st Gen owner...I like these subtle enhancements.
Not sure about v2, but the 1st gen Moto 360 has a plastic back, not glass.
So what's better moto 1 or moto 2?
+Toby May neither really they are both crap, literally the IPS screens just ruin it
+Justin Quitaleg do u recommend the 1st gen, because I'm thinking about it
+Toby May well ofc 2 is better. but the question is...does it worth to buy 2 over 1? bcuz it's 150$ difference...so ye... anyway I will buy 1st too in 1-2 weeks. still watching around if there's anything better and not way more expensive than moto 360 v1.
Moto 360 2nd gen is a great smart watch but is Samsung gear s2 better than Moto 360 2nd Gen??
i just Pre-order one. 10/08/2015 i will have this one >>>>>>
the better processor should actually increase battery life too (even on the model with the smaller battery) since it's so much more efficient
no speaker?
who has experience with the screen cracking on the 1st gen? and can you tell me if it cracks easily and if it ruins the watch?
it looks like a deal-breaker for me.
appriciate the reply's.
ok i know its a weird thing to say but it actually is 3 sizes 46mm watch and 42mm (for men the 42 men uses 20mm band) and the 42 mm women uses a 16mm band

I really like my 360....but the Huawei watch is looking pretty awesome!!!

But again, the new gen is considerably expensive, which makes things wayyyy more complicated. I'm really confused.😕
that black bar makes me suffer, why dont they get a round screen
moto 360 is the next apple watch. all smart watches should be circles!
I think I'll just get a gear s2 when it comes out
The Huawei watch doesn't have a flat tire, so what Motorola said about it is total bs.
Huawei doesn't have the ambient light sensor for auto brightness, so they can make it smaller.
+BokiSmokiToki the bezels are also larger and come up over the screen, the screen has glass independent of the bezels
mine (1st gen) doesn't turn on anymore even if I put it on the charger. Sucks !!
Honestly, Im glad I sprung for the 1st gen instead of waiting for this. Twice the price, but twice as nice? I don't think so.
this Moto 360 will go real nice the droid turbo 2
Is either this or the Huawei watch....
huawei watch is so much better why even consider the moto 360
+Justin Quitaleg its just that you cant afford it
im talking about the 2nd not 1st
Oh my looks at the flick of the wrist
is it just me or does Michael look like he's getting younger, not older?
Sucks you have to download most of the apps for them on your phone
"Flat tire" is a deal breaker.
OMG I HATE THE LUGS -_____-
They had to keep the old moto360 design... Damn... I would buy huawei watch instead of the new moto360..
Can it be hand wind! (o:
Is it just me or is the audio sort of weird? This happening to anyone else?
Just got 1st gen brandnew for 79
Mustafa Manya is it good?
Rb Rabbit he said brand new what do you think
Rb Rabbit It really is. Only flaw is battery life, though it easily lasts one day.
just ordered mine fot 90 after seeing ur comment
Where can i buy one! All cost above 200!?
I'll take the first gen. thanks.
waiting for asus zenwatch 2 hands on/review
Still the best looking one out there, too bad flat tire still there.
perfect
I must be one of the few that isn't bothered by the black bar at the bottom. I thought I would be buying the 2nd Gen Moto 360... I guess not. the 1st Gen looks waaaaaay better. I don't see much of and improvement here
Why can't they call it the Moto 720. Makes sense as 360*2
I just got the first moto for 150. The upgrades on the new one aren't worth paying 300.
I'm sorry but with its internals and the regular watch lugs it's only just now catching up to 1st gen Android Wear watches and because of that I can't justify that price.
+Anton Dillard um the moto 360 was one of the first gen androdi wear watches...
But it has the same specs as the first gen Android wear wateches. That my issue with it.
I'm just saying: The Huawei Watch for the win!
