There are countless stories about how Pip lifted his teammates up on talk radio and newspapers. Most of them are directly recounted by ex-bulls of that era. Even now on talk radio when ex-bulls of that era are often asked about their experience with Bulls and MJ, they would respond with some kind words for MJ. But then, a lot of them would transition to how great Pip was to them, and how Pip help them.
This doc is basically for market continuity.. A re-selling/reintroduction of the jordan brand to the next gen of kids.. Kudos to nike/ jordan's marketing team
like if Jordan brand need it...For sure, Lebron wil need a space jam2,3,4,5,6 and 11 TLD , and may behis sneackers could reach level of jordan ' s selling....
I did enjoy the documentary, and I was a Bulls fan through the rough start for Jordan, but I was always a Pippen fan, and this doc feels like it really drags every single decision he made that made people question his heart and his desire to play, and his love for Chicago, into question. Pippen was the best sidekick to Jordan’s superhero, and this doc really didn’t play that up at all. Jordan said in his speech getting into the Hall Of Fame that he doesn’t do anything without Pip being there beside him, but this doc makes him almost seem like a hindrance, which was definitely not the case.
WTF? The documentary showed that pippen wasnt at the same level as mike, but was just as important as Jordan to the bulls, and they complemented each other
The director said he didn't want to villafy Krause, merely tell the facts. He mainly addressed his involvement in the first episode. But I guess he didn't wanna neat a dead horse since people were gonna blame him(and rightfully so) anyway
probably cause he wasn't alive to be interviewed. It was kind of respectful to someone perceived as the villain, when he was no longer here to tell his side.
I'm wondering why the years after the bulls and his time with the Wizards weren't brought up. In my opinion, they are just as important, seeing how Jordan would acclimate to regular circumstances after such a hard and demanding career and a grueling celebrity life. Also, it would've been interesting to learn what made him become an NBA owner.
@@duytherockdang Well I understand, but in reality it wasn't the last dance. I don't believe it was fair to end the story where it ended. There was so much more to explore.
Good documentary. Legendary player who belongs to the ages. Greatest ever? Think again. The greatest basketball player athlete who ever lived was not either Jordan, LeBron, Kobe or Kareem. It was Wilt Chamberlain. Read his life and accomplishments. Something like 90 of his records still stand today almost 50 years after he retired, and will never be broken.
Left out MJ 84 Olympic squad 8-0 vs NBA all-star = I assume because MJ worse Converse at that time And spent way too little time on the actual playoff run and finals of bulls last season It felt like fast forward, cramped into 2 episodes, which included a lot of personal backstories
Anyone who whines about this is probably a fan of another team. Trying to destroy Jordan by the NY media was an attempt to get Jordan off his game so the geocentric Knick fans could have a winner. These media people should have realized he would only play harder even though it was killing him. The heart of a champion cannot be denied. 🏀
So the only criticism he faced was the question “did you run into a lot of stop signs?” Lame biased fake news interview, how bout asking why the timeline was so out of place..
Honest critique: Would have definitely loved to see film of the contributions on the other teammates. Like Simpkins, Wennington, Kukoc Ron Harper.. Yall really slept on Ron Harper
That would need a whole separate documentary, it was focused on the Micheal era of the Bulls so I think showing Toni's involvement with them only was fair.
Way too many flashbacks.. it became exhausting keeping up and I wanted more behind the scenes footage of the last season. The timeline broke up the flow imo
My main criticism of this documentary is there should have been more Ron Harper and Toni Kukoc in it. Kerr shouldn't have had more interview time than those two
He didn't have to say anything. You took him at his word without scrutiny and then tried to use his friends to corroborate? 3 things stood out. Sonics series not admitting Gary Payton slowed him down, the Russell push off and finally the worst part which will have implications in society is passing off his bullying as a motivational tactic. I think Hehir let his fandom of MJ get in the way of making a balanced documentary about the Bulls.
LOL.. If you hadn't included the part about "the Russell push off" somebody might have taken you seriously....LOL...as it is you just sound like a Millennial....did you squeal "inappropriate touching" 5 times at the top of your lungs when you saw that part? Something tells me your kids won't have to worry about being "bullied" on any sort of athletic field or court. Maybe by the little girl down the street...
I would have liked them to have examine how Craig Hodges was ostracized and how Michael did not want to listen to his suggestions on starting his own sneaker company for the benefit of job creation opportunities for African Americans.
That would have been nice to know but they didn’t have enough time for that. It was impossible to get all of that stuff in a 10 show documentary especially when they highlighted Krause, Pip, Kerr, Kukoc and Coach Phil as well. This thing really needed to be like 3 seasons to get down deep like everyone wanted but it was still very enjoyable to me.
It was good but in my opinion also a missed opportunity...a bit too much focus on the past & not enough on the season in question dubbed 'The Last Dance'. I would of liked to have seen even more behind the scenes footage of that particular season than what we got. The sense of a hard fought struggle of achieving the goal of a 2nd three-peat could of been done better. Also too much bias towards Jordan.
it's hilarious that we got more talking heads with all these ESPN/Media than RON FUCKING HARPER. imagine being a starting guard alongside jordan and only getting like 2 seconds of his interview
So according to the Last Dance Director, Luc Longley didn’t exist, wasn’t on the team, didn’t play as the starting center for the last 3 seasons and finals, or that he actually played more games than Steve Kerr, right??? So incredibly rude and disrespectful, he should’ve been at least been acknowledged in some small way because he was in fact the first Australian player to win a championship in the NBA, that was a big deal at the time and paved the road for others to follow!
Scabootie that’s not true he was more than just a role player, he was an integral part of the team being a 7ft 2 Center, if he wasn’t any good there’s no way he would’ve lasted let alone played for 3 seasons and in all the finals, otherwise they would’ve replaced him. Regardless this documentary just turned out to an informercial for Nike, it was all about selling more Air Jordan’s, it could’ve been so much more informative but everyone was too scared to say anything negative about MJ especially his bullying of other players during practice.
@@bellabana how many minutes did he play in 98, game 6? He was a passenger throughout his whole career, sorry. Edit - 14 minutes for 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 4 personal fouls. Sums it up.

Yeah...LeBron sure would have...wonder why Jordan didn't edit out the stuff that made him look bad? He either doesn't care...or maybe he didn't do any editing?
This guy said MJ was not the final editor. He keeps saying i don’t know him personally. We are not friends. I haven’t spoken to him since our last interview. Mike was not pulling the final strings.
The Last dance had some good content. It was just horribly directed. All of the stories are very disjointed and nothing flows. I wasn't sure if it was a history of the bulls, an MJ documentary, or a story of the 97/98 season. Just tried to do way too much and failed.
"The last dance" and then proceeds to chronicle MJ's entire career. Jumping between years for no reason at all. It was enjoyable, but it's by no means some masterpiece
They had to... Cause there are two generations that have no idea about the full journey and personality They had to build all that and introduce Jordan to the new generation So they could appreciate the last season
I think knowing what we know about the failure of the Bulls after the last dance, I don’t think choosing to use the term “bulls rebuild” as the last caption of series 10... lacked respect... it wasn’t a rebuild. But hey.
The only guy left after the last dance team was Ron Harper. Idk if you are familiar with sports but basically their entire crucial team was gutted so that’s a rebuild

Even now on talk radio when ex-bulls of that era are often asked about their experience with Bulls and MJ, they would respond with some kind words for MJ. But then, a lot of them would transition to how great Pip was to them, and how Pip help them.
I liked the beginning part of the "Last dance"
This doc is basically for market continuity.. A re-selling/reintroduction of the jordan brand to the next gen of kids.. Kudos to nike/ jordan's marketing team
like if Jordan brand need it...For sure, Lebron wil need a space jam2,3,4,5,6 and 11 TLD , and may behis sneackers could reach level of jordan ' s selling....
Can we get some more!!!
Steve Kerr part was great. But no talk about Ron Harper, no talk about the Knicks, and the lack of respect on Pippen. Plenty of it not that great.
Lack of respect on Pippen? .. talk about the Knicks? But why they needed to talk about the Knicks 😂😂😂 WTF...
WTF? The documentary showed that pippen wasnt at the same level as mike, but was just as important as Jordan to the bulls, and they complemented each other
Jason is also gonna do a doc of Stone Cold Steve Austin. I can’t wait!
I feel like the Krause thing wasn't highlighted enough
The director said he didn't want to villafy Krause, merely tell the facts. He mainly addressed his involvement in the first episode. But I guess he didn't wanna neat a dead horse since people were gonna blame him(and rightfully so) anyway
probably cause he wasn't alive to be interviewed. It was kind of respectful to someone perceived as the villain, when he was no longer here to tell his side.
Xrex O I know how much highlight do you need lol
I'm wondering why the years after the bulls and his time with the Wizards weren't brought up. In my opinion, they are just as important, seeing how Jordan would acclimate to regular circumstances after such a hard and demanding career and a grueling celebrity life. Also, it would've been interesting to learn what made him become an NBA owner.
because its called the last dance
@@duytherockdang Well I understand, but in reality it wasn't the last dance. I don't believe it was fair to end the story where it ended. There was so much more to explore.
Good documentary. Legendary player who belongs to the ages. Greatest ever? Think again.
The greatest basketball player athlete who ever lived was not either Jordan, LeBron, Kobe or Kareem.
It was Wilt Chamberlain. Read his life and accomplishments. Something like 90 of his records still stand today almost 50 years after he retired, and will never be broken.
This was great
Left out MJ 84 Olympic squad 8-0 vs NBA all-star = I assume because MJ worse Converse at that time
And spent way too little time on the actual playoff run and finals of bulls last season
It felt like fast forward, cramped into 2 episodes, which included a lot of personal backstories
Where was Luc Longley
I don't see that Mike guy the interviewer much but he's awesome you guys should get him to do more interviews thanks
He’s an ESPN commentator
I miss Tirico
This is the go to director if you're making a documentary... and Trico is great an interviewing
The timeline wasn't out of place, it was just two different timelines
Honest critique: Would have definitely loved to see film of the contributions on the other teammates. Like Simpkins, Wennington, Kukoc Ron Harper.. Yall really slept on Ron Harper
I wonder did everybody want to be interviewed
@MaxVegas100 facts
I wish we could’ve learned more about Kukoc given how the NBA is so globalized now and he was one of the first popular European players
That would need a whole separate documentary, it was focused on the Micheal era of the Bulls so I think showing Toni's involvement with them only was fair.
Let’s see us an unauthorized series too 😁
Way too many flashbacks.. it became exhausting keeping up and I wanted more behind the scenes footage of the last season. The timeline broke up the flow imo
Disagree. Just meant you had to be on the ball through the episodes
Totally agree
I hope there will be a dvd made of this entire series.
DVD?! This ain't 1990! 😂😂😂
It’s supposed to eventually be put on Netflix
@@marquezshine747 it's been on Netflix for 5 weeks.
MooNwALKER oh i didn’t know 😂 thanks for the update though
I don't have Netflix and don't plan on getting it again.
R.I.P David Stern.
This thing really needed to be like 3 seasons to get down deep like everyone wanted but it was still very enjoyable to me.
mj wouldn't have approved that at all.
Interesting topic but I don’t believe it would fit to into the overall theme of the last season of the Chicago Bulls dynasty.
No competition he is the GOAT
Longley was a role player that didnt play all that well.
Sums it up.
We need a Kobe documentary
Spike should have done this doc.
Wow a young and very bright successful AMERICAN the guy made a blockbuster documentary on first try...how about that?
Just for those who wanna know about micheals fathers death go watch Micheal Franzese talk about it.
He says all you need to know and if you don't know who he is then you should read up on dude.
He was a big time under boss in the mob.
it was ok. not as great as everyones making out. seemed like some doco youd find on youtube. decent watch. nothing amazing. a few times i found my self hovering the mouse to see how much longer was left
What criticism? Probably Lebron's PR team because this buried him at any chance (like he really had one anyway)of being the GOAT over MJ. All in all, great documentary!
Come on like Michael did not have final edit on this documentary....
Who cares
Yeah...LeBron sure would have...wonder why Jordan didn't edit out the stuff that made him look bad? He either doesn't care...or maybe he didn't do any editing?
This guy said MJ was not the final editor. He keeps saying i don’t know him personally. We are not friends. I haven’t spoken to him since our last interview. Mike was not pulling the final strings.
What does that even mean? Lol.
Why is everybody craving for the teammates opinion? Y'all just want to find a way to make MJ look really bad. SMH
Why wasn’t he texting MJ? That’s odd
Cause there are two generations that have no idea about the full journey and personality
They had to build all that and introduce Jordan to the new generation
So they could appreciate the last season
Disappointed the point-Jordan ain't there.
I wondered why he left his first wife out of the story ..... look her up and you'll see why. It hurts his character even more.
I heard that Jordan wanted final say in everything in the series. ???
He did have final say. But as the director has said, he never once actually exercised his creative control
They did not cover several parts of Jordans fathers death that are suspicious
What are they?
Emmy! For sure.
Greatest Nike Commercial ever.
There’s something about this dude I really don’t like idk if it’s his face or what
Man, I wish we could see all that early story stuff. Maybe a season 2?
Maybe they connected because he did everything Jordan said?
This was not a documentary. Documentaries are objective. This is a Jordan puff piece and Jordan is the real director. The real dark side of him, all those clips were scrapped. Ken Burns was right.
Well put. Agree 100 percent
The dark side? LMFAO! You have information noone else does?
All lot of controversy and criticism were included though. What “dark side” clips were scrapped?
Please tell us the real dark side.. You must personally know mj or have secret information that no one else in the world has
This guy seems very young. How did he get the job to Direct and interview?
Well, he's 43 and has been doing this for awhile. He's done several 30 for 30's on ESPN, Andre the Giant, UFC Primetime, and The Fab Five documentary, to name a few of big things on his CV.
How’s 43 young ?
The Last Dance: left on the cutting room floor. Coming soon. Just a wish.
Of course Jordan was involved in the process.
Enough fan boying over mj
Good series, terrible interview (what was the point of the interview?)
Dude looks like Leonardo Dicaprio with a hat on
? is Jordan still the GOAT without the Chips/rings
No.
Yes, go watch some of his games and highlights how relentless he was on both ends of the floor.
What kind of goat doesn’t win championships?
of course.
what a question....smh
