Never forget Shaq had 25 in 1st half, they put Rodman on him in 2nd half, Shaq only scored 2 more points all game.
Rodman is the most underrated player in NBA history. David Robinson on Shaq (and I love Robinson, one of my all time favorites) played each other pretty straight up. Against Hakeem O'lajuwon, he career was several points better, rebounds 3+, etc. Against Rodman, he got his points, but Rodman was several inches shorter and gave up at least 80 pounds. Rodman still battled him to a stand still and was 13 wins against 3 losses against Shaq. Crazy mother, but a great player.
@@danhorsley4921 Rodman underrated? When?
Dan Horsley Rodman is in the HOG, not sure I’d say he’s underrated.
Haha that was one game calm down. Shaq could eat rodman alive and did it multiple times. Look it up chump
@@nathansims9769 That season he's referring to Rodman shut down Shaq, Ewing, and Mourning in the playoffs. Rodman was a beast, period!
This is exactly why Jordan put this into production, to show that him & Bron ain’t in the same league.
Anyone that knows of MJ and watched him play know that he was a different beast to LeBron.
Only kids who never watched MJ would pick lebron.
I don't think he ever had the need to do this...He is universally recognized , even while he was still playing, as the GOAT by his peers. I very much doubt he cares what pseudo-pundits have to say.
Lol 😂😂 Brons the greatest basketball player of all time, he might not be the winner Jordan is but he's still The Greatest Basketball Player Of All Time
Annnnd you're all wrong. Play a game of 5 LeBron's vs 5 Jordans. I guarantee you team LeBron would win almost every. Damn. Time. FACTS if you say I'm wrong you're an idiot. And I'll tell you why.
I’m 24 and obviously too young to have experience that time of basketball and watching the documentary it blows my mind how physical play was... today’s game is so soft compared to that lol
That's why us old heads resent it when LBJ is compared to MJ.

Tanner Hecht double edge sword because it’s not as exciting to watch. So that really had to mess with rating also. It’s been the same way with football also.
Glad you could catch up
Jordan can’t get past Pistons.
Gets in gym, gets stronger, works harder.
Lebron can’t get past Celtics. Takes his talents to Miami and recruits Chris Bosh to create a superteam.
Makes his whole team get in the gym to get stronger lol
Lebron doesn’t have air conditioning, can’t play.
Jordan can’t get past pistons bulls help and put good teammates around him
Totally agree
i dont like lebron but the celtics created a superteam first
Rodman had extremely high bball IQ. Many players need plenty of time to learn the Triangle. Dennis picked it up like it immediately.
Bloggins jay Williams said he took him a year to learn it
Rodman was different animal he partied hard and worked hard. After every game hed do hours on the treadmill. Cardio freak.
“Tall whites” 😂😂😂
Guapo10292 I’ve heard the term before. Idk where tho 💀
He hit the game winner after he missed so it’s fine
In the next game.
Yeah exactly. And the missed FT was in game 4 of the first round of the playoffs. Not the ECF
Paul Kelly actually 6
LeBron lost to
San Antonio in 2007

Zion McFarland you cant un-hear it lol 😂
Peeps gotta stop bringing LeBron into the conversation when talking about Jordan
Awesome how into it Pat is. This isn't just a basketball thing, this is a look into the life and mind of a legendary human. Jordan is not only the goat, but he's one of the most spectacular minds in human history. He attained a level of mentality that is pretty much mythological.
“Imagine if LeBron ...”
“Imagine if LeBron ...”
Imagine if LeBron was as good as Jordan. Yeah, can’t see it either.
jjmalaprop Yes, Thank You! Wishful thinking LeBron fanboys.
Facts
Jordan was not that good. Sorry to ruin your childhood.
Mitch Gill the only reason u think lebron is better is because u don’t know enough about Jordan there’s a difference between them mentally that separates them lebron is a physical force but doesn’t have that killer instinct
"built like a spark plug" hahaha
People tend to overlook a missed FT from Jordan because of all the clutch shots he did make to win games. Had the Bulls lost that ECF to the Pacers, I’m sure people would’ve criticized Jordan. However, people forget that missed FT because Jordan went on to make a clutch shot to win the NBA Finals in Game 6 against the Jazz.
RW3ints - “pUsHinG oFf...”
Yup. People forget that missed freethrow against the Cavs in game 4 because he came back in game 5 and hit the game-winning shot to win the series.
@@TheMadStork83 LMAO imagine being this salty 2 decades later. Probably a LeFlop fan.
Buddy he barley touched him
Ty Alex - yup, he probably is a LeFlop fan AND a Jazz fan. Not much to celebrate about in Utah...
Lebron missed SOOOO many free throws for games.
Right or passes it to mike miller
SSJ- ROSE imagine being mike Miller, like nah bro u take that shot
2nd worst “clutch free throw” player in the last 10yrs. Dwight ranked no1☺️
Lebron has quit multiple times in the playoffs.
Justin Chapman shhhh they don’t wana know that
Justin Chapman That Boston series immediately comes to mind
@@mustang7603 the Boston series, the Mavs series, all the Golden State losses.. he just quits.
Lebron Doesn't have enough heart to be the greatest. If he thinks he has lost, he quits....
BruceReeee yep. Lebum is an ego maniac. If things don’t go his way he shuts down. He had a barber shop show on HBO where his guest debated topics but didn’t DARE to go against the 💩that came out of China James mouth.
LOL I love Pat but did he really just say “Kareem Butler”? hahhahahaha
Interesting fact about Scott Burrell: After his freshman year at University of Connecticut, Burrell was drafted by another baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, and Burrell decided to spend his summers playing minor league baseball while concentrating on basketball for the rest of the year. Burrell's basketball career would quickly overshadow his baseball career, however, as he became the first player in NCAA history to compile over 1,500 points, 750 rebounds, 275 assists and 300 steals.
I like it when he said to aldridge im not sure if its him or rashad,, that mj dont want to skip games and always want to give his 100% coz he dont want fans who paid for the ticket to be disappointed,,esp for those first timer fans who watch him play,, 🐐
Ah yes, Kareem Butler. We Chicagoans all remember him so well.
Alejandro Lozano Aguas Scott Burrell. 🤣🤣🤣 He wasn’t even close.
@@Teabagonyou He's not even a Center. Haha.
Scott Burrell was the players name
@Ulysses432 I watched it and I took it as MJ was joking with...saying he was a player and not a one woman man, stays out all night drinking etc. They were laughing
Ulysses432 I’m not at the birthday party either and my room as a teen was lined with Jordan posters and my dresser full of Jordan or unc t-shirts. Burrell made some clutch plays. Think he went to Arizona but I want to say UConn? Great rebounder.
I am so glad someone else saw what I saw....not sure what who is referring to....ummm, but .. his name was Scott Burrell...
Rude?
Leadership?
are you kidding? smh dumbest thing I've ever heard...
That's called "ball busting" ....whatever MJ said, the guy was the total opposite...it was suppose to make the guy uncomfortable, lol and it did... MJ wanted to see him squirm, and he did...lol....I have to be honest, I really dont know anything about the Pat guy, but I thought he was a athlete himself, that is why I was surprised by his comments, smh...in my opinion, lol, he totally misread that total exchange between the team mates...
@@gjwilliams4098 totally agree with you...I would bet money that the guy was the total opposite of what MJ said...lol
Kareem Butler? Lol wtf is he talking about
Rodman: the ONLY guy to shutdown Shaq in his prime-
Twice. The athletic 300lb Shaq in Magic (zero point the whole 2nd half and OT) and 340lb behemoth in LA- 0 also second half.
LMAO!
Hakeem
Pat Mcafee and All the Smoke has the best sport podcast.
The brutality MJ and the Bulls had to go through to get to the top was something else. I seen it myself. There was a game where MJ was fouled hard mid air and fell to the floor. One other Piston player fell to the floor with him, Dennis Rodman. Rodman then punched MJ in the gut while MJ was on the floor.
Lebron James did way more than miss a game winning free throw to give his team an L!!!
Yeah he's lost almost as many championships as MJ won!
That team literally had the three best defensive players in the league in Rodman, Pippen, and Jordan.... and Harper was no slouch either. That alone was amazing. And Rodman is one of the most underrated players ever to step on the court. Because of his lack of offense, people who don't know the game like to poo poo on him, but what he did on the court was special. McAfee is 100% right, Rodman knew exactly where the rebound was going as soon as it left the shooter's hand because he constantly studied players, and he was smart as hell (basketball wise), and made sure he was going to be the first one to the spot. He could be a shut down defender at 3 positions, including against monsters who towered over him and outweighed him greatly, like Shaq. He was also a good passer. Many of his outlet passes to start a fast break after a rebound were things of beauty.
Love the reaction... Love this dude...
Lmaoooo scott burrel turns into “kareem butler” 🤣
It was Scott BURREL LOL
You're the MAN! You've INSPIRED me to create more content!!!!!!!
laimbeer was such a good villain role for this part of the doc hahaha. he doesnt care about the bulls.
iownalx23 yes but Lambeer wasn’t a great player. He was simply a troublemaker. If you look back at Videos of him, he would try and hurt people, but when that persons team mate would come at him, he played innocent.
@@bigboylife5463 He was a very good player and an integral part of his team. He averaged a double double over a career that spanned 13 years, was a 4 time all-star, and had his jersey retired by the team. For so many to discredit him as some worthless cheap shot artist with poor sportsmanship clearly haven't read much into him. He accomplished much more than most do in the league. McHale never receives the same disdain but was of the same mold. That was just the league at that time...
Kareem Butler 😂😂😂😂😂
MJ caught hell for that missed FT and was consistently questioned if he could lead a team to the title. We didn't need social media for it to be bad because it was in the papers, on TV, and everyone talked about it. Lebron is the focus today because he has been the next great player, so people need to stop feeling sorry for his ass. He is my favorite player today (hate his politics though), but the Mavs series ENDED his chance to be the GOAT and that's it. He is the most talented/best player to ever play in the NBA, but he isn't anywhere near the GOAT or Icon status that MJ has locked down.
what's more the career progression of Jordan at the time he missed that FT was far earlier than LeBron in the present day.
Para will you should switch your favorite player to Giannis dude is cool af
That 2011 finals. Never forget when magic questioned if LeBron can stop Jason Terry.... YES Jason Terry the 6’2 SG
It makes utterly no sense to say that LeBron is the “most talented/best player EVER” in one breath and then say that someone else is THE GOAT. This is what happens when MAGA ppl try to talk about basketball.
@@t.k.1319 - GOAT isn't determined based solely around one's talent. MJ is the GOAT based around his dominance as a player, his team's success with him as the leader, and those "moments" that separate him from other players. Lebron is a talent that the NBA has never seen where he could be so good at so many things at such a high level and rate. Unfortunately, he will not go down as the GOAT or even an icon because his career started too close to MJ's and he failed to produce in the Finals with Wade and Bosh against the Mavs. He was the reason that they lost that series and there is no getting around that.
Like I said, Lebron is the most talented/best player that has ever joined the NBA, but his career doesn't measure up to GOAT level. There is a difference between being considered the GOAT or looked upon as the most talented/best player. If Lebron wanted to average over 30 pts for his career, he could have easily done that, but he chose to be a scoring Magic Johnson. The man will finish on career lists with numbers that may never be hit again, but he can't eclipse MJ as the GOAT.
Didn't Lebron take off 2 weeks to fly down to Miami for vacation in the middle of the season?
prazertv and d rose almost quit ball in the middle of the season on the cavs
Steroid break....
The worm was entertainment at it finest!!!
Julius Erving was definitely flying around and doing trick dunks like it was nothing before MJ.
And Jordan would say that too.
David Thompson, Connie Hawkins, Darrell Griffith. But if you aren't a 'fan fan' I get where they're coming from.
Dr. J was my guy growing up in the 70's but MJ took his style of play to another level. Dr.J game don't even come close to MJ's.
It wasn't broadcast on tv at nearly the same level.
I remember back the first time we saw MJ fly....Amazing!
It is beautiful
That’s why LeBron never wants to take any big shots
absolutely......Bron is a front runner. Dishes the ball when game is on the line so he doesn't get blamed.
You’ve never watched basketball then....statistically that’s a lie. He’s the most clutch of Kobe, MJ, and himself.
American Warhaug you sounds absolutely ridiculous. In no circumstance am I taking lebron over MJ or even Kobe.
American Warhaug you are absolutely deluded. Lebum has never hit a shot to win any finals game when he’s down. Just last second prayer shots when the game is tied and he knows there is overtime
The legacy of MJ is failure and success. He missed the free throw but hit game winner in Game 5 to close out the series. MJ and the Bulls kept losing to the Pistons but finally defeated them and went to go 6-0. The legacy of LeBron is taking the short cut to artificial championship by joining superteams
It's weird seeing the word failure being associated with MJ when even when he loses you knew he put his all in the game, I remember one game he lost he scored 63 points going double overtime
@@hillarymcdonald9954 MJ to Shaq "To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.”
Rick Duong that isn’t fair because he won one with just kyrie and love who are comparable to pippen/grant and pippen/Rodman. Durant, however, only won with super teams.
@@freestylingwhistler Who brought in Durant to the conversation? Why didn't he stay in Cleveland the first time after getting swept and quitting against Boston? Because it was too hard. Why didn't he stay in Miami after getting crushed by Spurs. Because it was too hard. Why didn't he stay in Cleveland the second time after getting swept? Because it was too hard. Why didn't he build the Lakers team instead of taking the short cut and bringing in Anthony Davis? Because it was too hard.
Benjamin Yew and in no way are kyrie and love comparable to Pippen and grant other than being teammates
harden gets touched- cries. jordan gets touched- ties his laces - acts like nothing happened.
Jordan to basketball is what cell phones were to telecommunications. it happens everyday now. but in the 90's....shit was crazy.
The documentary is must see TV
😂😂you will only see the good things he does hahah
Imagine if someone was in the NBA finals and said. “I want a vacation.” Goes to Vegas, and sees the star player picking him up at the airport. The headlines would be insane in today’s world.
I big part of greatness is perseverance and HOW you win on the biggest stage. Nobody wins every game, fight, match etc.
after watching episode 3&4, you would have thought the series was about rodman and pippen lol
I wish it was.
Gained a lot of respect for Rodman these episodes
Please stop mentioning lebron name when talking about Jordan. Thanks.
D Andrews I think it’s just for context for the younger folks.
There was more to the Pistons than they talked about too though. They were able to be physical and could because they had so much depth. And Laimbeer wasn't just a bruiser, he was also one of the first true stretch 4's. And Isiah Thomas was a monster. I hope they touch on MJ's hate for Zee kept him off the '92 dream team.
AlexMacIsKING they said how Thomas had beef w pippen magic and bird so mike said no
His name is SCOTT BURRELL He recently did a UA-cam interview on ESPN!
I didn't feel Rodman was being mocked...I feel like they highlighted what it takes to average 18 boards a game....
Yesterday i watched a docu, how the friendship with rodman and Kim begans
Be Like No One what’s that one called? Sounds interesting
Jason Burrell 🤦🏿♂️🤣🤣
WRONG! Players today are not doing the things MJ did, especially in terms of creativity and improvisation in mid air. The move he did against New Jersey in 91 has not been seen in the league since then. That's just one of many.
Are you talking about the reverse english move off the glass?
a lot of Lebron hate in these comments. just appreciate MJ, LeBron, and other greats in the NBA
Lebron isn't great, he took 4 steps holding the ball in front of a ref and no traveling call. Bird would have destroyed him.
Stop comparing lebron to jordan then
Just don't put them in the same sentence and we good.
I don't appreaciate flopping, quitting, team-blaming, team jumping and load management 🤷♀️
i bet you were delighted when nick wright saw the MJ doc as an opportunity to attack MJ.
Scott Burrell is the kid Jordan was talking about with the alcohol. He played at UCONN
Built like a spark plug. HAHA I'm dying
That you! I cant believe nobody is talking that!
That's true Pat
shannon rlly said rodman couldnt guard lbj! LMAOO
I really appreciate this guy for showing respect for Jordan. Whereas Shannon is mocking Jordan every time they talk about The Last Dance.
Y’all think the show is crazy so far? Wait till episodes 6 and 7. Man oh man!!!
That was Scott Burrell that Jordan was talking to on the plane.
The reason you didn’t hear about that missed free thro is because of what he did to end the series 😂✌🏽
Scott Burrell not Kareem Butler. Also, the missed free throw was in game 4 against the Cavs. It wasn't game 4 of the ECF.
you can only name one skip, but the countless other guys that would defend lebron, shannon sharpe, nick wright, chris broussard, rachel nichols, max kellerman, the list goes on.
What was that on arrested development where Tobias was therapist and analyst and his card said "Anal rapist" his shirt made me think of That 😂😂
Jordan has multiple game winning and series winning shots in the Finals, that’s why he gets called Clutch and the Goat. Lebron has disappeared, missed shots for multiple series.
Isaiah that’s correct, LeBron actually has zero game winning or game tying shots in the NBA finals....facts
1:30 this mj story about calling out kareem butler, was it from episode 3 or 4? roughly what time mark? i swear i watched both episodes but i dont remember this scene
Chris Doe it was many Kareem Butler. The player was Scott Burrell
The thing is... lebron has missed clutch free throws before
The 'cradle' was popularized by Dr J, I think. At least I've seen footage of his dunking and the ASG Slam Dunk competition to say with certainty that he was doing it before MJ.
To this day, no one has the creativity, hangtime, and knack for making impossible looking and clutch shots. There has yet to be another Jordan. You're crazy to think we see this every night these days.
Dr.J been on them cradle dunks while jordan was in the sack
First of all new day and age. LBJ came out wearing MJs Number stole his powder act says hes chasing the ghost of Chicago. I guarantee if he never did these things and self proclaimed hisselfbthe king and chosen one we would never make him eat his words. media is also a big part of it. I'm 47 and I remember them criticizing Mike big time. So because u dont remember dont say anything. They criticized Mike the day he came in the league so what you talking about
I think you were referring to Scott Burrell since Caron Butler wasn't in the NBA at the time and is a close friend and teammate of the late and great Kobe Bryant
Why aren't the most recent episodes up on Apple Podcasts?
Yea but pat MJ gonna win the series, LeBron can’t afford to give up a game 🤷🏽♂️
Alright, Whippersnapper, let me tell you about a fella named Julius Erving and the greatest in-game dunk in NBA history- The cradle dunk on Michael Cooper. MJ was the greatest, but he sure didn't invent that stuff. Check out Doc in his early pro days. Dayum!
“Can you imagine, if LeBron James missed an extra point?” Good point Pat. MJ would never
Lebron always misses or passes to somebody else to shoot
LeBron is praised for takin care off his body, but i don't know if Bill and Rick would care much for that. Mike is the GOAT no discussion. just the fact he took those beatings until they didn't wanna beat no more is Legendary
The guys name was Scott Burrell if I recall
rodman vacationing to las vegas in the middle of the run and phil was ok with it because he knows that he has the goat in his team to pick up the slack.. you are correct in saying that this would never happen today because there is no one today to even come close to goat status.
Kareem Butler lol
LeBron HAS missed free throws to lose games, and he did get lambasted for it by all of the talking heads. Every great player has missed big shots. It happens. The important thing is how they respond to missing those big shots. In Jordan's case, he came back the very next game and hit a buzzer beater to win the series.
"Imagine if lebron did xyz today..." No comparison dude.
LeBron literally missed a wide open layup to tie the game like 2 months ago lol
He also scored two finals clinching shots
I the Balck Community, Bill Laimbeer was the NBA equivalent of 'The Man' in old 70's Blaxploitation flicks.
The best Last Dance reactions are here with Pat
I grew up with MJ. No one but Kobe was even close to being that bad ass and dominant.
They did not show MJ missing at the buzzer in game 1 against the Lakers. I was at that game and game 2 (“a spectacular move!”). Plus Games 1 and 6 against Portland. In those days Trophy presentations were in the locker rooms and I figured out later I left the building about one minute before the players came back out on the floor to celebrate with the fans. Yeesh....
That Giants boat trip is kinda the same except those receivers did not perform
Billy corgan talked about rodman just like this on this joe rogan podcast. He told a to a T. Must watch for sure
Scott Burrell and he was not an alcoholic and didn’t drink. He was joking with him bruh!
Oak Cliff TX
I would start watching the the NBA again if they were allowed to play physical D again.
LeBron would have traded Rodman seriously...... LeBron was complaining about Tristant Thomson having relationship with the kadrshian.
Don’t you dare compare Thompson to Rodman smh if Thompson is causing problems then you put his ass in check cause he ain’t half the player Rodman was
He was being sarcastic. Jordan was talking about himself.
