I ended up using covering film instead, which completely warped the wing, in the end the wings were different shapes but glad to say it still flew great. Keep them coming please.
You can reheat the film with a hot air gun and reshape the "odd" wing to match the other. You may have to hold more than you want because it may snap back a bit. You can do it several times Untill you get it just right!
I use to make my own string control planes as a kid, and love designing and flying equally. I used a solid wing design for my micro gliders I would build just to fly indoors and used a high ratio wing design for a solid wood plane that if you can imagine the predator drone type wing I used sanding blocks and carve the wings curves like homing a knife and I would mount the wings on a saddle so I could move the wing up and down the airframe to fine tune the balance, use a pencil eraser for the nose cone good weight and it bounces! I would also use Gilmore balsa rubber band powered kits for donor parts like their world famous Red Propeller and great landing gear that was indestructible. we would see who could take off fly and land one free flight.
Pretty sweet! I scaled it up, put 12 ribs in each wing instead of 5, added a slight undercamber in the ribs and and lots of gussets and strengtheners! It flys pretty darn well!👍😜 deffo recommend this as a beginner runner power plane!
A good source of tissue I found in shoe boxes where I live. They are not very big but also in the hospital they use sheets to cover the foot of the examination beds which is also usable but a bit heaver. I was fortunate enough many years ago to get 100 massive sheets of Japanese tissue which is super light.
Very nice video, well executed and well presented, the only fault I could find was adding weight near the CG when it would have been been better to have removed the appropriate amount of weight from the nose, especially when a power system was being considered. Nice job of removing excessive weight by carving (or lightly sanding) of the frame, etc. to lower the overall flying weight. Also, your stand for balancing your model's CG was more precise than using your finger tips; I have models in size from 'peanut' scale to a few which are 12 ft. and 14 ft. and use this same technique for all of them to establish the CG. I've always been intrigued with the 'penny planes' used for indoor competition and am hoping to get enough interest in my area, Riverside County, CA., to establish a competitive format at one of the local high schools gymnasium. Thank You for one of the better tutorials I've seen so far on the You Tube Chanel.
I can understand that CA is perhaps lighter than aliphatic resin (aka wood glue, yellow glue). But wood glue will give a much stronger bond if properly applied; i.e. - thin coat, dry, thin coat, join. Especially if you poke little holes into the wood with a pin, so the glue can for sort of "pegs" so to speak. This works with CA and epoxy etc. too of course.
You make such fantastic simple, good commentary videos, keep up the good work and i am sure your UA-cam channel will go big. Kind regards Miami Florida
Hello JoyplanesRC : I'm having a problem with my Helicopter quite a while ago!! When ever I switch on the remote controller main blade's of Heli goes to full speed!! I have vasted alot of time trying to find the problem behind this but failed!! I thought you may know the problem because you deal with RC stuff!! Please! I need help!!
Good morning sir I'm french and i would like to make the same plane than you where may i buy this nice little plane? I haven't thought a shop Thank you very much Great job 😉 ✈
What do you want to make it out of? Balsa been used for years chiefly due to its extremely light weight and relatively low cost. If you can make the frame out of a different material, I would sincerely like to see a video of it
@@NemoVir yep, it's actually close to the weight of the balsa wood, and it's not that hard to find so it's a win-win. Although it's better to make it thinner at a little bit larger so it could fly slowly and smoothly
I get so frustrated watching videos like this. I am simply not natural at making anything. You make it look so easy that I don't bother trying anymore. Everyone is different.
I tried it with paper and it works well. It glided through the wind. Right now it's really windy. and I tossed it in the wind it went forward fast. And I tossed it against it.
WOW finally I got a perfect video on youtube now I WILL try to make one because I cannot afford RC PLANE
They are Super Fun! You won't be disappointed!
Your gonna.failed
Sir, can u email the sketch at srpatil07@gmail.com. Thanks
this costs more than an rc plane
@@not_eagleye A normal Rc plane costs £100-200. This costs £20!

Dude that's epic but since I'm a paper crafter I made it all with glue and paper with some tape it's amazing man
10/10, brilliant! Grazie Mille.
I like your plane, modern and very elegant.

Very nice
Awesome !
Very nice thank you
I'll try make this , wish me luck 😁😁
Loved it
Beautiful plane! Just the channel I was looking for. Really waiting for the larger plane you teased at the end of the video.
Buen video
Beautifull
Excellent work
You need to make a bigger propeller to resuce the speed and maximize the torque and the flight time
Yes, I saw that later but it was done already so that would be for next time.
very nice!
tomorrow I'll do it
How thick is the balsa wood
Mantap 👍👍👍👍
Sir Excellent one. Thanks. How it changes it's directions??
Nice
Can we use Eze dope or can we use CA glue for covering the wings
Either work fine but try to get the surfaces tight when the tissue is applied then you don’t need to use dope as dopes add extra weight.
The plan link is not working :(
Vary vary sample ! Avan batter !
Hi! May I ask what spray did you use in 7:07? and how did you do the fuselage?
Perfect
can we use polyethene instead of butter paper
What glue did you use
CA with accelerator
Joyplanes RC thank you
Hot glue

From where to download the plans?
How much is the thickness of balsa wood you used ?
Same question bro
Hello, I wanna know what if wing will be flat without using curved pieces of wood?
U will die.
and what about a little x4 rpm multiplier gear
Can you please let me know what is the total weight including the rubber bands?
1.5 lbs
Rubber model requesting for permissoin to land in Orange Field..😎
Will u provide material pz.sir, all the best for more new ideas

Nice glider plane. Can butterpaper or lamination sheet be used for the wings as alternatives to the paper you used?
i will make another type

I started watching you from a month and I love your videos but can you please tell me where i can buy the type of wood from. And blade. Much love
Balsa wood in hobby shops, online, etc.
Ok

what glue or mixture are you using to cover the wings with the tissue i didnt quite understand it in the video thanks
Wood glue mixed 50/50 with water works great
:( wish i could make one by my self but i got shakey hands 😔
What is easki paper? I mean what so special about it? Can I use other type of paper or frame? thanks!
What should I use if I don't have balsa wood
You can use bamboo sticks, make it thin though so it can be lighter
cover just one side of the fin and the vertical stabilizer isn't very convenient
When you click on your tissue link it takes you to hard-core porn, I haven't tried the other links.
Shall I use ice cream stick i don't get balsa wood
leave the annoying music out
What's fool .you can't take measurements of part of plane
Could you please give me dimensions also it will make me perfect while I am preparing
You can see all in the plans form the article, link in the description.
