I have been reading Dr Sarno’s book “Healing Back Pain” and the terrible lower back pain I have endured for almost 4 months is gradually dissipating. He was a wonderful man and is still helping people through his books and these interviews.
This syndrome discussed in this segment can affect more than just your back. I was saved from excruciating pain 14 years ago when I stumbled Upon Dr. Sarno. I searched the internet every day for a year trying to find someone else who had what I had. Doctor after doctor proved nothing as to why I was having such pain. When I found Dr. Sarno I knew immediately I had found the answer. 50% of my symptoms disappeared immediately. The remaining symptoms took about 4 weeks to be completely gone. He was a truly exceptional Doctor.
I just love this man so much, and listening to him and seeing how quiet and unassuming and subtly powerful he is, I love and am grateful to him all the more. Deserves SO much more recognition.
While suffering from severe debilitating back pain I began reading Dr. Sarno's book the "The Divided Mind". I soon came to realize that his ideas also applied to me. It took a few months to completely adjust my thinking and for the pain to finally cease. That was 16 years ago, and I have not had any back pain since. Now in my 50's I continue to live an active life with no fear of pain. Thank You Dr. Sarno! 🙂
After years of pain pill addiction 2 different back surgeries Physical Therapy and missed work.. I heard about this book on the Howard Stern Show about 15 or 20 years ago... it changed my life I walked away from the doctors, the physical therapy, pain pills and Whining about it. In 17 years I've never taken anything more than an aspirin. I eat right and exercise and that's it!... that's all it takes you have to want to do it
Dr. Sarno saved my life. It took me several years of trying all the conventional medical stuff but when no one else could tell me why I was in pain let alone how to heal from it, his book Healing Back Pain did.

One of the best tools that Sarno has is to realize the illogicalness of one's pain. Like you said, if tendon surgery heals in 6 weeks, why would tendinitis last a year!?! That kind of logical insight is what I apply when I start feeling pain and it's incredible how effective it is. Good work on your part!
