  • This meditation for chronic pain uses relaxation, breathing exercises and guided imagery with one goal in mind, to produce your body’s natural relaxation response to counteract the effects of stress and reduce pain. Relaxation techniques are safe for anybody to use and do not have the side effects of pain medication.
If you suffer with chronic pain you’ll know the way it affects every part of your life. Acute pain is useful in telling you something is wrong. Chronic pain, on the other hand, is not so useful. It outlasts the original injury and gets in the way of carrying out your daily routines. This can lead to further frustration, anxiety and low mood. It makes your body sensitive than it needs to be.
Lady Gaga recently came out and talked about her fibromyalgia, a condition which is characterized by widespread chronic pain. In coming out about living with this condition she is one of the first celebrities to openly discuss living with chronic pain.
For so many years fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and ME have been on the fringes of medical fields. Mostly because many conventional medicines don’t help. Patients might get wrongly labelled as malingerers or difficult. Some, as my mum experienced, are told it’s all in their head.
But chronic pain is not just limited to these conditions. It can be any pain that lasts longer than three months. So includes an old back injury that plays up, rheumatoid arthritis, frequent headaches, IBS, Crohn’s disease etc.
Many renowned hospitals and clinics such as Cleveland clinic encourage patients to use relaxation techniques after surgery to reduce pain, reduce reliance on pain medication and to speed up recovery.
I’ve designed this guided meditation with the hope it will help you on your journey to healing chronic pain. Use it alongside whatever recommendations your doctor has given you, to help put you more in control of your symptoms.

Have you checked your magnesium? Studies suggest low magnesium makes diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia's symptoms worse. Magnesium malate & malic acid (found in apples) are shown to reduce fibromyalgia's symptoms drastically. Talk to your Dr and get supplementation.

This is the most amazing meditation I’ve ever experienced! I have endometriosis and also currently have siatic nerve pain. It’s genuinely so painful it is unbelievable. My body goes into panic mode when I’m in slot of pain due to my anxiety but this meditation calms me right down. This meditation not only helps calm me down, but it releases some of the pain and it gets more manageable to deal with. It has stopped me from phoning the doctors or going up to a&e. I just want to say thank you for providing us with such a gift!
I’m recommending it to all my friends and family.
To anyone who is reading this, you are a warrior. I do not know what pain you are going through but I hope that it will pass for you. I’m proud of you for coming to this meditation. Please know that everything will be okay! We can get through this together! Keep fighting warrior🥰 you got this!

body did feel relaxed you have s soothing voice and makes me feel sleepy I will try and do this at least once a day. I did feel a little at ease with the pain after I finished the session, I was breathing slowly deep inside the pain was this correct but I found I was little straining on inner breath because I wanted to touch that pain with my breath. But a very good mediation for chronic pain. Pain is something that should be addressed as something occurring and why we don't get pain for no reason there is always reason for everything. But doctors don't want to spend money to research why we get pain or treat the body is only designed to be healthy and pain free so what can be done to become pain free without medication.
Thank you for this wonderful mediation I am so greatful that we have somewhere to come when we are in pain and mediation on out doorstep. I luv yoga and meditation feel it dies relax you to a sleepy state which is wonderful. The body is not designed to be in pain that's why we have a system that heals itself but if that system is unbalanced we are in danger of pain. I need to rid this pain naturally would this make it work I hope. And God bless you to bring this beautiful relaxation to us and your time to clear some pain Thank you

My daughter is only 11, but a few days ago she had a spinal fusion of ten vertebrae due to severe scoliosis. Her post operative back pain has been so intense at times that she’ll scream and cry and moan. When she has the muscle spasms, her anxiety goes up & she can’t relax. Tonight during a very bad spell, While we were waiting for her pain meds to kick in, this video helped calm her down & she started to focus on your voice & started slowing her breathing. By the end, she had fallen asleep. I can’t thank you enough for making this. Seeing your child suffer feels unbearable & now I have another tool to help her. Thank you.

I'm so sorry to hear you've been in pain for such a long time. I'm glad meditation and yoga has been helping. Sometimes there is a psychological element to fibromyalgia, where seeing a therapist might help to shift some patterns. Look up 'reverse therapy', I recently read a little book by John Eaton and he explains some extra things you might be able to do to get well again.

I have torn my flagellum [spelling? It connects one part of me to another part.] swelling and pain are my life for the next few days I think… but this helped take the pain that I receive and not like block it but it went from a bee sting in a VERY SENSITIVE PART OF ME to a mild discomfort that I leave at the entrance of my special place.
I peel of my back pain and my 4skin pain, leaning it on the gatepost (I’ll use the other exit when leaving a little may follow but the build up won’t)
A large outback Aussie sheep station with an artificial river (creek lol I’ve got a lot of imaginary work to do!) made from desalinated water and green energy… lots of fruit trees just let to grow for the birds and flowers for the bees. A small wooden floored shed for malting grain (for whiskey!) I grow some barley but buy most of it because I don’t have (nor want) a tractor so a percentage of every bottle is hand harvested with a sickle.
The still is on the other side of the river across a single arch bridge, mostly stone on the ends and wood where it needs to be, it’s small but could theoretically take an unloaded Ute but we use will barrows, I’ll make an orger or wooden rails or belt in a few years.
The barley looks like it’ll do till the morrow so I’m going to have a lazy lay down on a rock overlooking the swimming hole. Ya can’t jump from here but from here you can see the jumping spot, not too high up XD
Stretching my back over the sun heated rock I soak the rays on my arms aiming for the white underside, tanning is wrong but ten fifteen minutes should be fine.
The sun glows behind my eyes and I stretch an inch more.
Breathing in and out, I’m stuffed from lunch (left over roast chicken and veggies) but looking forward to a milky well done tea with a gum nut leaf.
A crow caws and sets a flutter a small flock of quails, my dozen or so chickens I keep for beading squark and peak for leadership, even tho I’ve bought them for their temperament they tussle from time to time.
I roll over half to check on them half to flip like an over easy egg.
Ants run harmlessly over the rock as the brook babbles, I wouldn’t drink from my little river as the water has a long ways to go till the salt and undesirable chemicals and elements settle, plus I’ve got the best desalination plant in 500 miles (not hard in Australia) it’s better than when i first started and now it’s at least swimable. Lol he tree I plant on either side help, dipping their long flexy branchs into the slow moving water.
I’m nervous about introducing fish but seem to think out of the corner of my eyes every now and then a skittering under the waters surface, maintain minnows? Perhaps introducing fish is something I’ll have to consult someone about…

For 3 months now, 10 days before and while I get my period, I've been having these articulations, bone and numbness all over my body after I had a 5.7 ovarian cyst on my pelvic left side. Last year I had to go to go hospital because of the ovarian cyst and the only medication that had solved the pain was the morphine that the doctor inject me. It was truly a living hell. I'm currently down with Shingles... The stabbing pain of the rashes on my chest, side and back, and stabbing headaches have been utterly debilitating, i cried at every loud noise and bright light, as they exacerbate the pain. I've been unable to sleep, the pain keeps me awake every time i managed to drift off. Every hour the stabbing pains forced me awake, then listeninf to this meditation has helped me go back to sleep before the next wave of pain hits. I discovered that ambien works just as well, or even better than opioid drugs. It affects the same area of the brain that deals with pain. The only downside is that it makes you sleepy. But when in that much pain, sleep is welcome. My doctor was skeptical, but believed me. He's been my family doctor for 25 years.
My vertebrae are slowly disintegrating every year. It's starting to twist my spine and making one side of my ribcage protrude. The nerves get pinched, and it's a combination of sharp pain and burning pain on one side of my body. It makes my eye water too from pain. Meditation takes the edge off, but sometimes, I have to turn to modern medications to give me relief for a while. Ambien works wonders but has some strange side effects that you need to be aware of. The most common is sleep eating and sleep walking. For me, staying under 10mg prevents that.
Hope you can find some relief.

Firstly thank you for this powerful video. Secondly, do you have advice regarding multiple pain sites? I experience pain all over, often as though I've been hit by a bus. I find meditation can help but I find it hardest when the pain is severe in multiple locations. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia 20 years ago.

    • @GenerationCalm
      @GenerationCalm  2 роки тому

Sorry to hear you've been going through such horrible chronic pain. It's not easy, and although relaxation can help to take the edge off, it won't always work. So my advice (and bear in mind, I'm not a pain management specialist) would be to go for a multi-pronged attack. Sometimes, one of these will work and sometimes you'll need several techniques e.g., mindful movement such as tai chi, Qigong or yoga (on days when you have the energy for it), red light therapy or heat therapy, a TENS machine, mindfulness - here's a link to a trusted research site www.nccih.nih.gov/health/fibromyalgia-in-depth. So you might like to use a heating pad while using guided imagery etc. One of the things taught in CBT for fibromyalgia is to not go overboard and try to do all your chore/activities on a good day. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Hope that helps.

Ive carried the same baggage and pain for around 15 years and having the prompts to release it through this video was so special and healing and really allowed for me to release a lot of pain from my past and sometimes, releasing chronic pain connected to pain from the past has to happen several times before it truly takes. Like applying balm to a wound. Apply and repeat. I had to listen to the video 3 times but on the third round the pain left me and i was able to fall asleep after hours of terrible pain. Thank you for creating a healing frequency. ✨️💖 Sending love to all those who seek this video, you are not alone and there is joy and ease of being on the other side of pain and you will be supported on every step of your journey to it ❤️

Sorry to hear about your depression Sam. I will add that theme to my list, although in the meantime, I have an Under the stars sleep meditation that has a section toward the end about being out in space, with nothing around. ua-cam.com/video/QAMtEs9wWbo/v-deo.html

@@GenerationCalm Thank you so much! I'll definitely check that out. Please keep up the goodwork, I'm sure you're doing massive good to so many people. I've been listening to you for a long time but I've only gotten better recently that I'm able to thank you for it.
