Really an inspiration. It goes to show it doesn't all need to be perfect or beautiful for it to work. I like the boom adjustment especially. You would probably get less suspension bob if you route the drive-side chain under the lower guide, so the chain force is pulling the wheel toward the suspension pivot axis, rather than into the rear shock. Could be a cool experiment to test the difference.

Very good job. Your trike seems wider than any that I have seen before. This way the steering lever will never interfere with you legs. I cannot see any front brake. Is braking the rear wheel only safe enough?

Nice first draft. I've just built my first recumbent 2 wheeler, got it riding well enough I know what to change in the plans for the next one I'll make real soon. I read that if you're looking from side on, the axles should be behind the kingpins. They didn't say what difference not doing that would make though. How did you go with the kingpin and wheel camber angles to eliminate bump steer?

get breathable and cleanable material as the seat will smell from sweat after awhile. great job. though,,I too am working on something like this .but one enclosed for year round use.

really really nice job. i wish i had such skills. a trike is actually a very complex machine. did you work out the proper steering geometry etc. are you fitting front brakes as most of braking is done at the front. imo, you dont need suspension on a trike. most ppl run high pressures on their trikes thinking it makes them faster, forgetting on trikes the weight is shared by 3 wheels! i have a catrike 700 and its pretty comfy on under 60 psi front and rear and probably faster as its just floating over the road rather than jiggling about. and with bigger tires susp is even less important. not only will you shed a shit ton of weight / complexity you can lower the seat angle back alot more. you want to be as reclined as possible as thats what enables you to go the fastest and have the most fun. the greenspeed aero has a 20 degree seat angle and is the fastest trike. i dont get why ppl want high seat angles not that yours is particularly high. i mean what else is a recumbent for but to go as fast as possible lol. weight isnt the primary concern as long as you can get it reasonable. thats what id do if i built one anyway ie just shamelessly copy the gs aero :)

Put the lower chain on top of the idler. Then it won't fall off.

why all almost all those recumbent bike have transmission to the rear with a 6 meters chain ? Why not the front wheel instead ?

This is actually pretty decent! Ive seen lots of recumbents on UA-cam that have been built by people and this is honestly a brilliant attempt. A great second weld job too, if there's enough material there in the bead then it should hold fine 👍🏻 I like the quick release function for extending the front gear train assembly. It seems like it's quite wide? Maybe it's the perspective or maybe the camera though. It would be nice to see you ride it also, to get a better sense of scale. Good job though, looking forward to seeing it cleaned up and painted with a decent seat on it 😁
