Interesting design thanks for sharing, when tapping holes back off the tap after every couple of turns to cut off the swarf the tap won't break as easy then, looking forward to more videos 👍

Thanks for the feedback! I'm also trying to remember to use a bit of cutting oil as well. Hopefully this was the last tap I break during the build!

    "Interesting" drilling technique! ;o)
As well as the cost for tools and materials, how about PPE too? Gloves rarely get a mention on these types of projects. Masks, ear defenders, eye wear, boots but so few people using gloves when handling either toxic oils, grease and layers, including fine dusts and powders.
If those can't give two hoots about their own health, then please take more care of our partner and her gynaecological health.
A smashing project all the same. I look forward to following it after subscribing today.

That's a good point, I didn't include those. It's difficult to find the point between getting equipment for a workshop and project specific tooling. I thought I would leave the drilling accident in, just to show how stuff can got wrong, and that people need to exercise caution when fabricating. I have slowly started using gloves for projects where I know I'm getting oily or paint-y but I still forget too often. Thanks for the subscription!

Nobody has such a bending tool. Use the good old hammer.

A hammer on it´s own is not much use, a solid vice also required. And bending 50x6mm it has to be a VERY solid vice...

@@Saol_Now_Rolling It's more likely people have a vice. But if you don't have the tools you improvise. Find something that is secured to planet Earth and use clamps of whatever. Still, bending isn't easy. You need just the right size metal to make it work. Reason why nothing on my trike is bend.
Point is that you can have a great design, but if it costs hundreds to build you just as well buy a trike from a shop. My first trike I built with a hacksaw, a clamps, a file, an old drill, and some sandpaper. That's it. Perhaps you want to try get the (almost) same result without that bending tool? Just so that people who don't have access to such a machine can still use your trike design. That's what you want isn't it? Show alternatives.

Agreed and I mention in the video that in the future I will revisit the design and I'm sure it's possible without a bender. Some people requested I show the trike build and that is what I'm doing. After this series is finished I can reevaluate and simplify but it's too big a project to do while I'm building it. I'd never get the video out!

@@Saol_Now_Rolling Instead of one piece of thick steel you can use two thinner layers that are easier to bend. They won't be exactly the same but it's strong enough once bolted together.
