Hi Gavin, I called Champion about the square to round plug on the parallel kit for the champion.. they told me they didn’t have the square to round plugs. I see them on your review. I just bought a new one and mine didn’t have them on there. My question is if SOMEON HAS A SET OF THE SQUARE TO ROUND PLUGS I would love to buy them from you as I have a Honda eu3000i and want to par it with my 2500 dual fuel inverter possibly buying a champion 4500 dual fuel inverter as well b7t desperately need a red and black square to round. Plug adapter. Please please. And Gavin if you have an extra one I would gladly buy them from you as well. As always I love your videos some of the best I have ever seen. Keep up the good work. The parallel for the Powerhorse 7500 looks just like the Honda and it works great, just a bit too short, the units need to be right next to each other. Two PowerHorse 7500's cost less than the big Honda and when paralleled you get a ton more power...just a ton more weight because of having two units. The good news is that the Powerhorse is so quiet even two of them together is still very quiet on "standard" setting.
I have gotten alot of experiance and know how threw this gentelman when buying the right generators for the right jobs listen to him he knows what he's talking about ,,,TC

Finally got in the Westinghouse Parallel Cable. It was like hunting down the Holy Grail.
I have a iGen2200 and a friend of mine has two of them. When he bought them, the parallel cable was not available so I built him one. It's a basic "dead man's" cable that plugs into each generator and joins 6' later into an RV 30 Amp plug. Been working great for the past two years so I'm guessing your genuine Westinghouse cable will last you the life of the generators.
@@Tom-In-Ga Well, I've seen a few videos on the home made dead man's cable. And was going to make one myself, but the Westinghouse cable became available and was as cheap as the cost for materials as the other
@@props-model-shop Yeah, you're right. When we first got our generators, prices were much higher and they weren't available. Now you can get them for pretty much what it cost to do yourself. The Westinghouse cable looks pretty well made so I'm thinking you made the right choice.

Great video right to the point. I have a question. I have a Honda 3000, I also have a generac 3000i. My RV has a 50 amp plug. Can I connect both of those with a 120 amp parallel kit 50 amp plug? Or do I need a 240 amp 50 amp plug?
With the Generac kit, do the male plugs have a charge when one is plugged in and the other is not? Does it essentially act like a suicide cord?
Yes! they are that’s why they recommend pluging it in first before starting any parallel kit.

Great comparison! That Generac model is way too expensive for what they are giving you. It's basically a dead man's cable that you can make yourself for a lot less money. But if you're not mechanically inclined it, along with the others, would be a good choice. Looking forward to seeing them tested. Especially, with unlike models of generator.
Some of those kits are pretty pricey and not weather sealed. The Predator unit looks to be 100% identical to the Wen you showed. Its $69 and weather sealed supports something like 7000 watts. All of the units are great for 3500 watt gens but wonder what the max wattage is on each. With a lot of 4500 and 5000 gens coming out wonder if all of those support the output from dual 5k.
I don't understand how the Duramax is doing 240v when it only has two hot wires and no neutral. Do you have to have a neutral wire to make 240 volts? I saw an another video you did you added a neutral wire

I have two Predator 3500's and I want to run my fifth wheel with two AC units. I had planned to order the Firman 1201 but now you have me thinking (to much). Will the setup i mentioned run my RB with two AC's? You have me stuck on this 120 vs 240 thing.
in the past i have run the EU7000 Honda but couldn't find one this year so opted for the 3500 predator. hoping to make two of them work and run the AC's

Yes, you can parallel different brands different sizes Generators as long as they’re parallel capable.

The Powerhorse kit is sweet it would have won hands down if it offered 240V.
So say I was running a 4500 watt and a 2500 watt generator in parallel with a 50 amp plug. Then coming from the parallel 50 amp plug I had 4500 watts of load. The max the 2500 watt generator can handle in parallel on the 50amp plug would be 5000 watts. So if I needed another 1000 watts of power could I plug it into the 120v 20amp hookup on the front of the 4500 watt generator? Or would it still trip the smaller generator because of the load sharing.
Yes it would still be sharing the load with the 2500.

Both of these together would NOT run my well pump at my house. Do I need the 240? I put two igen 4500's together. In the past my 5000 generac ran the pump fine.
Most well pumps are 240 V you need a generator that produces 240 V. Two generators in parallel will not produce 240v
Hi Gavin your videos have been great and I ran across this one. I’m trying to parallel my two predator 3500s with a fireman kit to my rv and it works but rv is only showing 30amps because the kit is only 120v and it’s load shedding . I need to get a kit that is 240v parallel I can plug into my predator 3500s . How would you go about this? Would the duromax 9000 kit do what I need? Thank you sir
You may need adapters for the Predator but let me test it out first. I will let you know

1)I bought 2 champion 2500 watt generators but the 30 amp parallel kit has been sold out everywhere. Is there any reason I cannot buy the champion 50 amp kit that you show here?
2) The only reason I needed the 2 generators was to be able to start the a/c on my trailer. Once its running can I shut one of the generators down to save fuel? Thanks for any insight that you might have.
As long as the ports match up, you can use anyone I don’t see a problem with that👍🏾

I just got a predator 3500. If I were to parallel it with with my champion 4500 and use the 50amp port. Would it be considered a 120/240v port? Would I be able to use 240v appliances?

You can use any type of parallel kit as long as it’s the same plug as the generator.

How are the other ones not 240v? are they just running the two Hots in parallel on the parallel circuit and not splitting the load between the two generator links?

You can parallel different size and brand as long as they are parallel capable inverter generators
I have two Predator 9500's to parallel but I can't seem to find a kit that has a neutral connection to go between the two generators. On each Predator there are three connections a red, a black and a white neutral but there are no parallel kits that fit that configuration in order to give me 50 amp at 240v. What do you suggest? I am running a food trailer with a large 30 amp popcorn popper and a number of other appliances so I need the 50 amp 240v connection and the power of both of the Predator 9500's together to do it.

Greetings Gavin, love your channel. I’m currently building a personal power station for an off grid cabin. I’m using two generator inverters, one being a Pulsar 9500 for high demand periods paralleled to a Predator 3500 via a simple parallel cable with single 30amp outlet. This will feed an uniteruptable power inverter/converter/ battery charger charging a 2, series 31 deep cycle battery, battery bank. I will almost never run both gennys simultaneously, just powering one or the other as watts needed dictate and to charge batteries. Both gennys are remote start/stop. Do you see any problems I may encounter? Thanks for any insight.
The only problem I see is, one generator being a 240 V and the other one just having 120 V

Is it possible to parallel a 120v 2300 watt parallel capable inverter generator to one leg of a 240v 4600 watt parallel capable inverter generator? On one leg of my transfer switch I have a 120v gas dryer that needs a little more starting watts than my 240v generator is designed to provide...
That’s not possible the load will be unbalanced
When using a parallel kit. Could I still use the plug in ports on the generators? If so would it still be double the power? I will only be using extension cords for household essentials. Thumbs up as always.
Yes you can you still use the plug and both generator will support the load regardless of which one you plugged into but Be mindful of the load

What’s the difference between a two hot 120, one ground, one neutral and a four prong 240? Does it have something to do with the hots being on or not on the same phase? If you have a Honda 7000 I promise you there is no need to parallel it. You should be able to run everything in that RV with 7000w starting and 5500w running just get you an adapter for the pin twist lock to 50 amp.

Parallel kits are universal and also some do support 240v like the Duromax and Predator model
The manufacturer would like for us to think they are brand specific
