- Just a little thing I've been wanting to do for a while now. A showcase of the origins of some of Metallix's current sound library.
Heavy hitting SFX to really emphasize his cold and mechanical nature.

You have no idea how much this just helped me and so many other people on making metallix … thanks btw where did you find the other sound effects like the gun firing, the punching, dbz sound effects and etc?
The gun sounds are the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens Colonial Marines. I did want to add that to this showcase, but I couldn't find any good videos of it.
As for the DBZ sounds effects, those are from TOEI animation. I suggest looking around for sound packs online.

The power you have despite not releasing videos more than once every 5 years is nothing short of incredible.
A little trick of the trade for the lot of us? You're too kind. The palette of SFX is exquisite for the intended purpose and portrayal, you really know what goes where from the library that is the internet. Wishing you the best of luck with continued production of SMBZ!
@@Aeenjyl Thanks LOL
Good to hear from you Mark! The amount of joy you’ve given me over the years is incalculable. Thank you.
0:10 I always thought this one sounded like he was saying "Drop the emerald".
Holy crap, I recognized all the Fulgore noises, but how did I miss Gauss? I love using him in Warframe!
The complexity of the sfx always gives a better atmosphere to any project, great job Alvin!
Now you got me interested in the guyver. You definitely made a great character with these sound effects!
The last sound for when Metallix activates the Emerald is my personal fav. It feels super impactful.
The fact that I only recognized the Mesa SFX out of all the Warframe sound effects says a lot.
This is such a new level of creativity.
I 100% understand how stressful this is.
You deserve so much credit, as I'm so excited for this series to keep going because your talented at storytelling as well as directing.
Please don't push yourself to the point where it can lower your interest brother.
Take all the time you need.
No wonder the process of remaking SMBZ is taking longer. You're definitely putting as much love and care as possible into bringing to life your vision in Metallix. I mean you really dug around to find the best cybernetic sound effects for a malicious machine.
Was literally just thinking about this series when I got the notification.
I have so many hours in Warframe. Hundreds on Mesa. How the hell did I not catch her Ultimate move going off!? Your choice of sounds for designing Metallix are great, they work so well.
Bro used Killer Instict and Warframe for sounds, what a beast
The new Killer Instinct has some amazing sound effects that could be used in other media and this is a prime example of that!
Big facts
Good to see he’s still alive! Soon?

@@MilkshakeVAdude it's been months
@@DarkKisame77 yeah
He’s active on twitter and he is still working on ep3 from what I read he made A recent update on it that progress is goin slower than usual so overall glad to see big dawg doing fine still
I have to say, one of my favorite things about Metallix (compared to Turbo Mecha Sonic as well as standalone) is just how *chunky* he sounds. A man-sized robot packed to the ears with various weapons systems, a compact engine that runs on what's basically exotic matter, a sapient AI exceeding what multiple supercomputers could simulate, and plated with nigh-impregnable armor wouldn't be light and flimsy. Realistically, Metallix probably weighs over a thousand pounds at the bare minimum, and now he really sounds like it. He hits the ground like a meteor when he lands, his footsteps are slow and heavy with the exertion of moving hundreds of pounds of mass on every step, and when Yoshi landed those few hits on him, it really sounded like he was slamming his fists into something that he simply wasn't strong enough to break. It was less like he was punching an enemy and more like he was hitting a big heavy bell, or a gong, that was *designed* to take abuse and didn't even flinch at it.
It really is great sound design. Not a lot of people probably say this, Mark, but you've improved so damn much from the days of the original SMBZ. The sprites being more motile and expressive is just the most obvious thing, but the audio, the tone, and the 'camera' work are all so much more professional, as well. I know most of your fans probably just say how much they love x and y, or they eschew feedback in lieu of just asking when the next episode will be out, but I really do hope you know that there's a bunch of us who understand and appreciate the amount of work that must go into this series, too.
WOW
Good to see you’re still breathing. No, seriously, nice to hear from you. Still looking forward to Episode 3.
An absolutely superb choice of sound effects. He feels less like a robot and more like an invisible demon who possesed and remodeled a fighter jet.
Shout-outs to the DBZ Budokai series' Transformed Cooler for providing most of Metallix's voice lines, btw.
Very informative video though; didn't think Killer Instinct had such banger SFX, and l definitely didn't expect Warframe in the mix either.
BROOO IS BACK AWSOME!!!! ❤❤❤
Like how you give Metallix a dreadful personality, it goes well with his murderous ways of achieving his goal of becoming inevitable, plus the sound effects sounded unique compare to his classic version. Take your time on the next episode Mark.
I had no idea some of those sounds came from Gauss in Warframe! But they all work so well together!
DAMN, these sound FXs for Metallix sound so fittingly well.
Wow. That fact that those sound effects were a good fit for Metallix, just makes him about 20% cooler!
all of this is just ASMR to my ears. i love it.
Dude, you played a big part in my childhood and i appreciate it very much ❤
Metallix is Fulgore uploaded in a different body with Cooler's voice and a bit of his personality
CHANGE MY MIND
I never really thought about how much detailing goes into your craft!
This is art 🥹
I'm always spring loaded for more of YOUR content.
This was REALLY cool!
This is so awesome dude! Can't wait to see the next episode one day!
Saw the video via X aka Twitter recently. I was really impressed by your choice of source material for Metallix’s SFX, which I may say are really great for said character!
I did NOT expect the sounds to be from Warframe…I figured he’d be a lot of fulgore considering the music but Gauss was a good choice.
goddamn DOPE bro
the sound design fits right in the animation and i adore it so much
Thank you for this video, it's very cool to see where these sound effects originally came from!
Good to see you around Mark. Hope all is well. Looking forward to whatever projects you got going on.
Years later and I still absolutely loved the fight here. The beatdown of beatdowns
you truly do know your stuff on finding sound effects, man.
not even i would be able to ever find such sfx for anything at all.
The imagination one must have to form the relations. Appreciate you, Mark. 0:52 is my favorite btw; it sounds so intense! I'm sure my mind will be terrified at that sound in later episodes.
So many different sources, but they blend together so well
Gauss my beloved endurance endgame dps frame that never dies thanks to kinetic plating... and the subsume thermal sunder is cool too for titania prime to speedrun void relics
Hearing the Type 03 in Ep2 and now remember than Metallix uses the last fulgore noises is just perfect
Now I know where that sound effect where Metallix forms into his Ball before he attacks, and it came from The Guyver
Neat~♪ Appreciate the behind the scenes on the sounds. Tough finding sounds you like so neat to see where you got em
Glad to see you uploaded.
Not only is it all so awesome, the combination is perfect
Nice Mettalix's SFX 👍👍👍
Wait, you used Gauss sound effects!?
I play him, I am ashamed that I didn't recognize those sounds
it's good to see you are alive!
Fulgore, Warframe, and Guyver. That is phenomenal
Really nice presentation. I dont think I've seen an origin behind the sound effects of a character like this
Holy shit I knew some of these but this is very cool, thanks Mark.
Mr. Haynes, you could NOT have chosen better sound effects! They sound like what we'd expect a real heavy robot to sound like.
Fulgore fits Metallix way more than it should.
I hope you are aware that you are one of the main KEYs in building my happy childhood Mark❤
Cool, best of luck with next episodes
This is so fun to see!
Warframe SFX from my speedy boi Gauss?
You have *immaculate* tastes in SFX use
we definitely have been wondering this for over a decade ngl
I actually used one of these sfx for my messaging notification cause i really liked it so thanks
glad you’re still around!
0:44 Ah, a very familiar sound effect, usually followed by rapid gunshots.
That sound from The Guyver is what was also used for Mecha Sonic's spin sound in the original SMBZ. Also, let's not forget that Metallix's flight sound is taken from Sonic OVA, used for the character that happens to also be an adaption of Metal Sonic.
This is so awesome!
Neat! That gives me a lot of cool ideas!
Damn, these are so damn good. I remember growing up with your Alvin Earthworm shorts and a few other stuff back in High School from this one art site I cannot for the life of me remember. I still loved the animation short where it's Jimmy T. and other characters dancing to Hathaway's What is Love. With what you've shown in terms of your Super Mario Bros Z, you've honestly made me want to try and do similar stuff when it comes to art.
Honestly Warframe and Killer Instinct are SO good for really crunchy robot sounds, I'm not suprised to see them pop up here. XD
Hope you’ve been well, Mark. If I may ask, will you be changing Metallix’s sprites in future episodes of the SMBZ reboot to the newer sprites recently made by @bluersonic9528? Or will you just stick with the regular sprites for consistency?
I mean this is cool and all but I have to ask, are you really making good progress with the series? It's been 2 years since episode 2. I know you're only one guy and you have high standards but if you hope to finish your series in this life time you might have to lower the bar for some things. I think you're afraid to disappoint people and set this unrealistic standard for yourself.
You gotta think about how you want to go about this project, your strengths and weaknesses and try to work with some other people. I know you said you're not a good team player but if you really want to see this thing through to the end you either have to grind yourself to exhaustion like a manga author with an unrealistic deadline or find a small crew you can rely on and can try to produce episodes at least once every 6 months or once a year. Otherwise you might end up like me, with a bunch of ideas and dreams and promises but no time to learn and improve and watch it all die.
I don't expect a reply and you don't have to but I hope you see this and really think about what you want from this project.
Fulgore was a great choice of music and SFX for this iconic character
And i did not know you played Warframe, that is so cool :D
You don't see this everyday, giving full credit to sources. That's dope.
We come a long way from him just using the Mortal Kombat cyborg SFX.
Metallix is so metal
That's actually really cool!
👏👏👏👏👏👏 incredible
As someone who has yet to unlock Gauss, I never would have landed on Warframe as a possible sound source.
Warframe has some WILD sounds. I'm more surprised that he PLAYS Warframe than I am that some of the sounds COME from it. xD
Thr fact that you took some noises from WarFrame, makes me love that series even more :D
...Huh... I thought I recognized Mesa's 4 Ability in those noises. Neat.
All of these SFX really transcend the cartoony Robot Sounds he made as Metal Sonic in his own series.
INCREDIBLE!!
Now that’s awesome SFX is good and cool
I’m your fan, bro! Keep up the good work!
This sounds complement him so well!
Mark Haynes A.K.A Alvin Earthworm, long time no see old friend!
No way, its thy legend himself
This is for you 👑
😁👍
tbh i thought you made these, but even if you didn't how well you used them and how you drew it all made it all seem so fitting and seamless!! like at 0:44 it sounds like it's a really high pitch more robotic voice saying "chaos!!"
I had a hunch ya were using some if fulgor's sounds....but then I saw the finisher at the end of the fight and that confirmed it for me LOL
I knew I recognized Fulgore's SFX. A man of good taste.
Any new mark vid always makes the kid in me jump now that I’m an adult
SMBZ being part of my childhood and the creator himself actually plays Warframe (I have 3k hours in game) and uses the sound effects for the remake, this is so amazing to see as a grew-up individual :))
Okay, I shouldn't be surprised that there are this many Fulgore sound effects considering you literally used Fulgore's theme for Metallix in the reboot and also had Gargos' theme in the pre-reboot series.
Thanks so much! This is such a great help!
Oh from killer instinct my fav
It’s a small video but I do appreciate it
