I think Columbia should sponsor a video or two. That shirt always makes me think I want one and now I am off to shop for one! Also, never thought the Hudson was going to be the thing I wanted to see so much on the Loop, but I am in love! Thanks for all the hard work to show us so many great places❤
Love this video, I live in troy! Our farmers market once won best in the US! We are quite proud of it :) (Ps, at 3:55, I live in that tall building on the right!)
Glad you like Troy . Locals call it Troylet though it is a nice town. My wife grew up there.McGearys‘s in Waterford is a great restaurant to eat at. We had dinner there last night. hope you enjoyed the Waterford flight. We have taken our boat through it 20 or 30 times
About 30 minutes or so north of Troy is the famous Saratoga Race Track. Many years back they had an artists competition to paint horse statues. I wonder if that horse statue you pointed out came from that competition. The results of that competition are scattered all over the area as some of the painted statues were commissioned by various businesses and organizations in the area. I live an hour north of Troy. If you do the loop again you need to take the Champlain Canal, you will not be disappointed.
Troy was so cool and I love that you had ice cream for dinner and breakfast! Seeing you go through the lock was awesome! I love the drone shots! I felt bad for Ollie when she was crossing the grates on the bridge. Thanks the the history on the Erie Canal…keep traveling safe!
Jen has 3 on the Umm counter today. I watched this and the last video back to back. Feels good to binge watch you guys again. You both are always lots of fun!😀
The Erie is #1 on our Great Loop bucket list! Thanks again putting up such great content! We hope to take it all the way to Lake Erie. What is your bridge clearance? Will your mast lay down with your dingy in place? We really like that dingy mounting design.
Nice! It will live up to the hype! We can clear 12 if we take our bimini down, I think we are around 15 with the mast down. Without changing anything we are about 18. Cheers!
We also loved Troy when we did Lake Erie, the Erie Canal and Hudson River in the opposite direction from you. Cool small city. Sad to hear you won't be doing the whole Erie Canal -- is that due to a height problem with your boat? The west half is lovely, with welcoming towns ranging from a tad forlorn to bustling. Lake Erie ranges from pleasant to rough, and good ports are far apart at the Eastern end. Oddly enough, we had a rough time in the lock just before Troy -- it got quite swirly as the water went down. No problems in any of the Erie Canal locks however.
Our boat is capable to do the Western Erie however we would have to lower our biminy. We decided not to do it this year so that we could do the Trent-Severn and go into Canada! All tradeoffs 😁

Love the veggies. Just picked nine 5 gal. Buckets of snap beans in my N.C. fall garden. Can't stop canning. I wonder if you could grow a tomato plant on a boat!
Strongly suggest whoever is tending the lines in the lock has a lock blade (knife) on a lanyard whenever locking through. Emergencies happen and having a knife VERY close by is always a good idea.
Pleasure meeting you at Paris Landing. Safe travels for the rest of your loop. Andy MV Brizo Ps, 100% agree on the benefit of installing/using the Nebo App and hardware. Will be installing ours next week.
@@SchoandJo PSS: Took advantage of the Mantus discount code you arranged for the AGLCA. Proud owner of new 25# M2, Bridle, and Snubber. Hoping the bridle will cut our swing in half. Will be a few weeks before we can test on an overnight. If you want recommendations for anchorages in Wilson Lake, reach out through. Harbor Host. Andy

Another great video! I have a question about locks that I've not heard answered yet. Do they charge you to go through the locks? I have heard that you can purchase a pass for the Canadian locks, but what about all the other locks?
Hey Dennis good question! The NY State canal system this year did not charge, but in the past you did have to pay. I believe since COVID they have not charged. The Canadian locks require a pass, and there are different ones you can buy depending on where you want to go and if you want to backtrack. And finally the mid-west river locks as well as small locks here and there (like in Virginia) there are no fees for them.
Exciting..Enjoy the Canal... Looking forward to all the next videos.. Happy Cruising...
Thanks Karen :)

Yes yes Troy is such a beautiful city.. sorry Albany 😜...Troy and Saratoga are lit.
haha we like Albany too, missed Saratoga though, will have to check it out next time we are in upstate NY!
So cool. Can't wait to watch the rest of the videos!!!!
Thanks, Jacob!
Ice cream twice in less than 24 hours is our style! 🙌🏼 The flavors sounded so good and that farmers market looked so awesome!
It still stands as some of the best Ice Cream we've found on the Loop!!
Great video and now the most picturesque part of New York, across the Erie Canal. Enjoy. and glad to see those life jackets on.
Safety first! Thanks for watching Buck!

Wow that’s a ton! Those locks are intense, and a lot of fun!
Really cool to see you guys so charged up.

For sure, we're pumped!
OMG! I see my old apartment! You guys literally docked in my backyard in Waterford!!!

i miss the troy market!!!!
More GREAT adventures!!
Great cruising country.
Thanks Larry! Definitely is!

Loop round two?? 😜
Love this! I live in Waterford and love stopping by the harbor to look for loopers!
Nice, you are in a popular spot!
@@SchoandJo I've got a video of me going through lock 7 in my Jon boat! Awesome to hear up river and grab lunch off the mohawk

The farmers market was pretty cool. I would like to take a stroll through it.
I'm sure you'd like it T Mac!
With all those options on which route to take just means you'll have to take the loop again.
You might just be right!
Nice! Makes me want to be there.
Our German Shepherd doesn't like grates or shifty floating docks either. He takes a wide low stance and practically army crawls across. :)
haha I can definitely picture that!

Love the architecture in those towns, I prefer the North of the loop so far.
For sure!

It would be awesome to grow tomato plants on board... some logistics would need to be figured out but I bet its possible!

Absolutely! Jennifer keeps one on her every time we lock - good advice!

“Delectable”. You don’t hear that word very often by the youngsters…lol
When did you get Ollie? She fits in with you so well. Nothing like a good dog for companionship
We've had Ollie since she was 8 weeks old - we adopted her from the Atlanta Humane Society about 7 years ago 😁
I don't see you on Nebo anymore. Lost you at Grafton, IL.
Hmm we're still there! Try again over the next few days and drop us an email otherwise 🤙
