From Hospital to Big Pharma (Part I)

In this first episode of a 3-part series on pharmacy careers in the pharmaceutical industry, we welcome guest Gina Bariah to share her career journey from hospital pharmacy to landing roles at major pharma companies like Pfizer, MSD, and AstraZeneca.
Gina explains why she felt limited by the typical hospital pharmacy career ladder, leading her to consider non-pharmacy careers before discovering opportunities in medical affairs, marketing, market access, and more in the pharma industry. She shares the challenges of getting hired with no previous industry experience and how networking was the key to landing her first pharma role.
Gina then introduces her new platform PharmAfinity, which provides resources, networking events, and mentoring to help pharmacists transition into pharmaceutical industry careers. She gives insight into her roles at different pharma companies and how she has risen up the ranks to Global Medical Director while building her expertise in medical affairs
