Hi, thank you for sharing your feedback. I am sorry that you have been through a challenging journey. Would it be worth attending the Pharmacy Careers Summit on July 5th as there are specialist immigration experts attending the conference and you will have an opportunity to ask questions or get support. Raven's Recruitment are also a useful agency to contact for support. I did this episode in collaboration with them.

@@pharmacistdiaries Thank you for your reply and advice on joining the conference. However, attending the summit for offshore candidates will have a different set of challenges like visa etc. I request you to bring out some ground reality video on the issue I shed light on. We have all applied via Raven's recruitment as well but if you require visa sponsorship then its almost a dead end these days. It would be great to hear your research on this.

The summit is a virtual conference where all of the peak bodies in Australia and the National Pharmacy Banner Groups will be represented and you will have the opportunity to live chat to them via the virtual exhibition. There is also a specific agenda item on international pharmacists.

I have just finished 4th year and will hopefully be starting pre-reg later this year in hospital with a GP split but I have always wanted to work in industry and my biggest concern has always been the work life balance of the job and the career progression 😭. What I want from a job and for my life just doesn’t seem possible in hospital and even in GP (community I hope to never step into if I am being honest) I have concerns.

It is early days for you and you have yet to explore working life so your interests, thought processes and beliefs of different sectors will change as you enter into a 9-5. You’ve got plenty of time to figure things out so focus on enjoying the journey and learning more about what you like for now. Eventually, you’ll get to the point where you know what you want/don’t want and then you can make the best decisions for yourself. I hope you get the trainee role that you want ❤️ and that you enjoy it! Keep in touch and let me know how you get on. I’d love to hear xx

I just reached out to Raven's Recruitments & I've been told they "do not have clients that are looking to sponsor candidates." Which is the complete opposite of what this video leads you to believe. I got the impression that I could sign up with them, tell them where I want to go & what I'm interested in & they would help me find an employer that would sponsor me. I understood that as a locum you had to find your own supervised practice but if it was a permanent position the recruitment agency would help with this...any idea?
