- In this final installment, Frank visits the forge to pick up the replica's of the original hinges and nails that the blacksmith has been working on. After installation, Frank coats the chest with a green milk paint that was similar to the original color. Frank then coats the entire chest with a coat of Linseed Oil, which is an extremely durable and traditional way of protecting the finish. Finally, Kevin stops back into the shop to see how the restoration has gone. Again, our apologies for some of the A/V issues in the Chest Restoration Series, as it was some older, unused footage that we thought viewers would enjoy and get something out of, even with some of the production glitches.
It takes a real artist/craftsman to make something look like it was original... Great job, beautiful..

Great work, Frank! I love how thoughtfully you integrated the new pieces while preserving the spirit and aesthetics of the original.
I loved the board stretcher comment.
Enjoyed the video series. On part 3 I was hoping for a little instruction on the mitered dovetail but sadly there wasn't any. Is this a process you already show in another video, or would I need to be a member ? Thank you again for this little series.
