this movie is a rare one. it's super funny (and a bit inappropriate) but still has loads of meaning behind it and is actually a really good movie, the writing, plot, and acting were amazing.

@@WETTV96ironically, he began his acting career in offbeat indie films, usually playing a tormented, shy or nerdy kid…then all of a sudden he worked out, for a tan, and started in this and The Notebook, and transformed into a Hollywood Ladies Man…maybe he took his character’s advice, lol…great movie…all of the characters have depth to them, and the writing is top notch…you get the sense that the entire cast enjoyed making this movie…still funny after multiple viewings…finally a zany comedy with heart and soul

If you’re on the fence about watching this movie, just jump and watch it. It’s worth it and will make you look at life a little differently. Fun, heartwarming, dramatic. Definitely a must see.

One of my all time favorite rom-coms.
7/10. One of the best comedies of 2011. All actors/actresses played a genuine part to their personalities - almost as if the director chose them based on that. Emma Stone's love scenes were very convincing, almost as if you could read her eyes that she was excited to be making out with Ryan Gosling. One of Steve Carell's best movies in my opinion. Some scenes were very funny, like the scene where the 4 got into a fist fight/wrestling match. Was definitely a highlight of the film. Everyone had great chemistry and worked well together. It was a bit predictable, which deducted some points for me, but it wasn't original by no means. Worth owning on DVD.

you know what i love about this movie, is that there is not one big move that wins the girl, and that there is not one big arch with one plot, all the little other plots made the movie really better and i think the ending to this movie is really good, if you yu get the change you should pick it up. I know i will, in fact just got done watching it for the first time and is now one of favorite romantic comedy movies.

But she really was upset when Cal referred to the teacher in the same light as he saw her. And the movie does acknowledge her in the wrong again ( Granted, in one line ) after the brawl scene.

The story for me is just about a woman who broke her marriage vows and messed with family dynamics by cheating on her husband and having an affair. The situation screwed with the poor husband's heart, mind and self respect.
Robbie Weaver, the son, caught the truth and reality of the illusion of one true love ... 'it's a scum', he said...but they shut him up. And cheered him up only when he fell back into the matrix of love illusion.
Funny, the story writer managed to make all the four adult male characters in the movie look bad and irresponsible. And the cheating wife a victim.

fr that's what I'm saying like are we forgetting that the wife literally cheats on him? if she wasn't happy she should've communicated more with him and if that doesn't work leave if you're both unhappy in the marriage. if they wanted to create sympathy for the wife and show how broken their marriage was don't make her cheat, there's no excuse she could've simply left him but no paint her out to be the victim
I haven’t watched this movie, but I was pointed here from another UA-cam channel by a man named Renee Garcia. He emphasized that us men have to be more like the Ryan Gosling character and less like the Steve Carell character.
