FILM DESCRIPTION:
Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the American dream. He has a good job, a beautiful house, great children and a beautiful wife, named Emily (Julianne Moore). Cal's seemingly perfect life unravels, however, when he learns that Emily has been unfaithful and wants a divorce. Over 40 and suddenly single, Cal is adrift in the fickle world of dating. Enter, Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling), a self-styled player who takes Cal under his wing and teaches him how to be a hit with the ladies.

I liked how David wasn't villainised, as he could have been. Instead, he's a decent seeming man whose only flaw was to knowingly date a married woman.

I find it crazy how in the movie Demi Moore gets upset that Steve slept with 9 girls. I know it’s a movie but it mirrors what happens in our actual lives in some way. She cheated and wanted a divorce. Yet got upset that he was getting some nookie? Lmao. I’ve seen women react this way to what guys would do when they WEREN’T together. It’s hilarious. Meanwhile the girl started the breakup, cheated during the relationship but wants sympathy?

At 0:16 you can see an old photo of Emily’s daughter however given the look of the photo it’s impossible that it was Molly foreshadowing the existence of Hannah
This must be one of the only movies that kinda made me feel bad for the guy that has an affair with a married mother. Aside from, obviously, doing that, David seems like a nice guy.
