Julianne Moore’s character doesn’t get enough crap for what she did
I agree. I hated her character. Cheats on Cal and then self-righteously craps on him for being a womaniser when he gets it on with nine women after they separate. Maybe he wouldn’t have become that way if she hadn’t cheated. What a self-righteous hypocrite.
@@hawkeyepierce7035 finally someone acknowledges the fact that her character was a bit hypocritical made me mad when she walked away like she didn’t ruin their marriage in the first place:
As usual she just gets given an out that it was a 'distress signal' or a 'cry for help' that her relationship was going down the tube.
I also found the kid incredibly cringey. But yeah she is the worst.
I agree 1000%! She started all this, tiring her family apart then giving cal crap for sleeping with other women, talk about the pot calling the kennel black! She should have moved out not Cal! He was loyal and faithful to her, what more can a wife ask for a husband and life partner!
Ryan Gosling losing it and laughing cracks me up every time. 🤣🤣
I kinda wish Bernie had apologized to Cal here for the misunderstanding. It always bugs me when I watch this.
I kinda liked that it actually showed Bernie not knowing what to do when his at fault and cringed out himself.
He can't logically process when his daughter is doing what she doing really... he must have acted that way because he's just purely filled with frustration and anger.
Some b*lls on the ex-wife to be calling Cal disgusting. When she is the one who cheated while in a Marriage. What he did was after the Marriage was torn by her and he was a free man. Not sure if they divorced or not, but my point stands.
Damn right it does!
They hadn't divorced but she'd asked for one
I really hate when the woman is more at fault, but somehow makes herself the victim of something. That's the first time Cal actually calls her out and she still won't say sorry?
They never will. They are too good at gaslighting you.
Yea , that's my whole issue with this movie , that even in the end it somehow falls to Cal to fix the problems and how his son and daughter both look at him like he was the problem on the story.
I can understand Relationships getting stale but if you really want to you would try to talk about it and fix it. Not just have an affair and then get a divorce and then go out of your way to judge and be so entitled to the circumstances that is your fault.
I hated the ending of the movie becaus of the implication that Cal had to learn to be a better man for his relationship with his wife and to win back the appreciation of his family and show his son that true love exists.
Overall the comedy is great but the way they write Juliann Moore and all the stuff that connects to her character and her role in the plot just doesn't work for me. Normally we get movies where the guy cheats and gets his cumappance in the climax. Rarely doe we get good Rom-Coms where the woman does it and actually has to pay for what she did..
I understand you bro
@@raydead2670lol
Gaslighting 101. All women do that. If we cheat we’re pigs and marked public enemy No 1. If they cheat it’s because we neglected them and they were just looking for validation from someone else. There’s no win lol 😅
Julianne Moore plays a lot of characters who kind of "walk through water," in the sense that no true consequences happen for the things her characters do in movies, and this is a good example. In the beginning of the movie, her character Emily wants a divorce admitting she cheated on him with a co worker. Then more or less forces him to move out, and her friends choose her cutting off contact from Steve's character Cal. Then she acts self righteous and hypocritical when she finds out Cal slept with other people rather than being a monk or something lol. Then in this scene she tries to be a mother by taking Hannah's side BUT Cal had ammunition for Emily since she did destroy their lives epically.
Gosling's unscripted giggle is amazing and i am here for it 😂😂
Somehow the wife plays the victim role when she is the one to blame for all this mess. Wtf?
Still bothers me that he never apologized for tackling Cal when he did nothing wrong
The son was extremely irritating in this movie.
You really didn’t upload the best scene of the movie but you put up the aftermath 🙄
I think that's how they filter copyright issues
You can find it on UA-cam as well.
He’s no better than Jacob and is acting like a complete hypocrite….. he willingly became a womanizer mainly to spite his ex (not saying that’s a bad thing cause she 100% deserves that) and he greatly enjoyed it until his own daughter became involved!
So Cal has *zero* right to disapprove of Jacob solely for being a womanizer given his own actions…. plus his adult, independent daughter knows what she is doing!
He's divorced
@@haragopal1 I’m aware…..
@@carson11100 Yeah, but it's different when your daughter is involved, and I know that is a double standard
@@ttaylor758 His daughter knows what she is doing…. She is well aware of Jacobs womanizing.
I don’t think Cal fully hates him, I think it was more seeing his daughter go out with Jacob after knowing what Jacob used to do. As a father I would also be pissed
Why you didnt upload the whole fight scene😂😂
I like this movie, but the cringe kid ruins it with his cringiness
I don’t know man to be fair when you’re that at it’s pretty much 85% cringe
Agreed
Who?
Yeah at 13 ofc u would be doing dem thing
I’d give this movie a 5 star rating but the kid ruins it
Kevin bacon has only been in a movie with two characters from the office the actors of Dwight and Micheal
I feel bad for the dad
what is the song in 2:05 pls can anyone tell?
I'll be honest, at the end of a day like that, I wouldn't want to wake up. Just disappear, like maybe I was the problem. Glad it wasn't that way though for Carrel's character.
In retrospect, it was a bit too obvious that Emily and Hannah, the only two characters who were redheads, would turn out to be related, kind of spoiling the twist. It's still an enjoyable movie, though.
Exactly. It's so obvious that we don't even consider it with all the other plotlines going on. Everyone's got their own thing happening and the script is so tightly made that they don't give us the time to figure out the secret until they're telling us. That's why it's so great 💯💯💯
How can you say "it was obvious in retrospect and that spoils it"? Doesnt make sense. Either it was obvious when you first watched it (which it wasnt, dont lie) or not. And if it wasnt obvious the first time that means it worked.
@@AL73250 Lol.He wants to say that there was foreshadowing and that he missed it and is disappointed that he is not as smart as he thought he is.
She is all yours...
Why the son mad at his dad
Me, laughing…
Isnt that Cal's house?
No, he took basicaly everything.
You know something called divorce settlement right .
I wouldnt be mentally stable/strong for all this... i know in this situation what would happen to me.
Someone will probably die in my situation

Cal is a hypocrite
This movie was complete garbage to me. The wife cheats and breaks up their home, but gets to play the victim the entire movie.
Thats what women do. If you didn't experience it you are lucky.
This is going to be a disaster for Emma Stone and I think My heart is broken that It’s very painful? 💔😢💔
Women like that belong to the street
Even at the end, cal told david, she is now YOUR RESPONSIBILTY, Goodluck buddy. 😆😆😆, basically treated her like a immature child
Why are people angry at the portrayal of the wife. I mean she has been portrayed AS THE VICTIM even though she is not. That's the point.
The movie basically showed men like cal and his SOn don't get nothing in the end, things will never go there way.
Hahaha dont be a doormat. Be like ryan gosling😂
Bot
This movie portrayed perfectly how modern marriage In a developed progressive country Is a complete sham
Its a funny movie on its surface. But highlights how women still manage to be the victim no matter what. She cheats on him and HE is somehow at fault because well, he is "boring." If men have any doubts whether marriage is a good idea or not watch this movie as a reminder . You can do everything right and still get fu@ked!
You might not follow football but Kaká a Brazilian football legends wife left him because he was too perfect. That's like the ultimate stab in the back .
@@rvrmdudeIt actually happens all the time, but not much to a men, so when it happens ppl think is insane 😂
