First singer - Austin Brown, high tenor (left the group in June, new high tenor Adam Bastien sang first concert with Home Free end June). Second singer, beard, glasses) Rob Lundquist, lead tenor - full of soul. Beatboxer/ nomonica is Adam Rupp, co-founder of group in 2001. Back left is baritone/bass Adam Chance, 4 octave range. And bass (white shirt, long dark hair) is Tim Foust who is legendary for his lows and also 5 octave range. (In videos after July 2020 he has short greying hair). Home Free had been touring for a number of years (varying members) until getting catapulted to International acclaim in late 2013 by winning NBC Sing Off season 4. In the past 11 years they have had just two changes in members, including the recent one.
End of the Road is great. I love this group they are the whole package talent and humor. The big guy Rob is classically trained in opera. Check out his duo with Austin on Nessun Dorma. The beat boxer is world class. More Home Free please!
*Edited to add a long list Their cover of End of the Road is great, and it features “the big guy,” Rob. Boys II Men’s Shawn Stockman loved their version when they performed it on the Sing Off; he was a judge. I’d recommend it as the next song for your reactions. Other stellar songs (among hundreds): •Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash cover featuring Avi, former Pentatonix bass) •How Great Thou Art •Go Rest High on that Mountain (Vince Gill cover, beautiful) •When a Man Loves a Woman •Listen to the Music (Doobie Brothers) •Blue Ain’t Your Color (Keith Urban) •Sea Shanty Medley (created during Covid & so good it got them a deal to write & perform a theme for a video game) •All about that Bass (Meghan Trainor cover - one of their early videos & funny) •My Church (Maren Morris cover) •Mayday (cover of Cam original. Don’t watch until you’ve seen 6-10 others and know who is who in the group.) They’ve done fun versions of “Wake Me Up” and “Never Gonna Give You Up” (the “Rick roll” song). They’ve collaborated with Kenny Rogers, Don McLean (Bye, Bye Miss American Pie - classic), the Oak Ridge Boys (Elvira), Lee Greenwood (God Bless the USA) and more. I saw them in concert in April and they really are this good. Find the video of Adam Rupp’s beat boxing solo. He’s world class.
One of the fun things with Home Free is you usually don't know who the lead will be, what the beat boxer will do. I enjoy and anticipate what will happen, Adam did nomonica and Chance the jaw hard sounds. Chance does base background when Tim sings and Tim when Chance sings.
Adam Chance - in the back with black hair, is doing what is called Mongolian throat singing where you can get harmonies going with one voice thru the vibrations of the vocal cords. He’s creating the sound of the Jaw Harp- a staple in Appalachian music.
A little hiphop, a little doowop, a lotta jaw harp, with the nomonica, the beat, and atmospheric sounds by Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. The first lead is by Austin Brown, the second "angelic voice" is Rob Lundquist's. Tim Foust sings the lowest bass, and Adam Chance (called just Chance) is a bass-baritone, and the one who does the jaw harp in this piece. All are unique soloists who also blend incredibly well -- as you'll see. For their motown country blues with a tinge of hiphop, check out their Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash cover).
Welcome to the deep rabbit hole of Home Free. The next two you should react to are End of the Road How Great Thou Art. Everything you hear comes from their mouths. Home Free never disappoints! Love your reaction!
Home Free is amazing. Austin was singing lead in this song although HF has no lead singers. They pick the lead depending on the song. Rob (glasses) is the tenor. Chance (back left) is the baritone/bass. Tim (bass) has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and sing high with the tenors. I’ve been to 3 concerts and Tim’s voice goes through you. And last but not least is Adam, the beatboxer, who was doing the harmonica, drums, and other sounds. He’s amazing! 3 are songwriters and they sing all genres of music. Try In the Blood, Stand By Me, Die a Happy Man, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours.
You just touched the tip of the HOME FREE iceberg. They are the best out there. I love the other Acapella groups like Pentatonix and voiceplay. It's just that Home Free has a different sound and they can sing anything. Keep watching them. You will not be disappointed.
When Tim Foust the bass is singing lead, Adam Chance (Chance) the baritone songs the bass line. Tim went deeper in the line after his solo. Chance was also doing the jaw harp sound. Rob Lundquist the low tenor (The Beard & glasses) was rapping in the Butts Remix/ Medley. Adam Rupp beatboxer extraordinaire was doing the harmonica sound. And Austin Brown high tenor left last month; he'll be missed. All four can, and do, sing lead.
This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Adam Chance takes the bass when Tim is singing. Please try one of their originals... Catch me if you can ... Remember this ... Land of the free ... These are just a few of their originals. These guys do all genres and are damned good song writers. I saw them live 2 years ago and they blew me away, just as good live as in recordings.
Tim Foust is the Baritone singing in this one.. amazing.. They are all amazing. Austin and Rob usually do lead.. Adam Rupp is so great with the sounds and then Adam Chance also Baritone.. The band blows me away every song.
I recommend you learn all their names and vocal positions. Later the Home Fries (fans) will tell you to learn all of this before checking out one of our favorite songs. We have all had to do this and you will be very happy that you took the time to Learn all about them. Austin Brown (High Tenor) was originally from Georgia now his home is in Nashville TN. Rob Lundquist (tenor) is from Mankato Minnesota, Adam Rupp (Beatboxer/vocal percussionist) is also from Minnesota, and last but not least is Adam Chance (A.K.A. Chance) (The baritone/bass/vocal effects) is originally from Alabama but now lives in Callifornia. Have fun going down thew Home Free rabbit hole. They don't put out any bad songs; so, you can't go wrong when you pick one to react to.
You play Home Free you will watch your numbers soar. Each one is talented in their own right. Tim is the bass but now Chance also does bass too which gives Tim the freedom to show his range. Chance the newest guy. Hung out in the back is the guy who did the mouth harp sound. Rob the bigger guy has an amazing voice. He and Austin are both tenors and they actually did an Opera cover which will floor you. Enjoy the trip down the Rabbit Hole that is Home Free
Another group for your list of acapella to check out.... Kings Return. I would say start with either their sounds of Motown Melody, or Boyz II Men Melody 😉 Not quite as 🤯 as HF & PTX, but incredibly talented
The water drops are unnecessary and very disturbing. Get rid of them.

Who cares? Just watch the original then
@basbeest2238 if it gets blocked you can't see it. In the case of HF I don't mind I know them all by heart anyway
@@marylee7467 what I meant was that ppl shouldn't complain about the drops... If they're a fan of the music, they know the original video/music anyway
I consider the beginners guide to HOME FREE is the trifecta:
Man of Constant Sorrow
End of the Road
How Great Thou Art
Yes!
if you want to be amazed by the harmonica sound, listen to their cover of Ain't Going Down Till the Sun Come Up.

They do overdubbing on their studio releases but loopers for live shows though a significant portion of their output is just five vocal lines.

This is the best introduction song for Home Free, you can get a better idea of who does what than on the Butts Remix.

And of course you must watch the movie “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Unreal talent.
How " serious" do you want? Because we can recommend a few from them that might bring a tear or two. Thanks for the Home Free reactions!
Heh..."two things". That means something if you've seen Home Free's Guilty Pleasures Hilariously Derailed.
