Hey sorry for the later upload today, this week has been crazy for me (including an an aesthetic procedure just 3 days ago) and I honest to goodness forgot it was Saturday until like 5 minutes ago 😅 Also, I am now aware it was a harmonica, thank you everybody 😂
Layne and Adam are definitely from another planet and Floor Jansen is an actual Valkyrie. They just happened to join music groups as their natural abilities blend well into human life.
It's fun to make jokes about swallowing drum kits, being an alien, etc., but it is important to note the key factor that makes Adam so good. He works darned hard with many hours of practice and performance to make the sounds he does (the whole group does), and he has been at it for well over 20 years. Of course, it also takes a discerning ear and the willingness to be self-critical. As Edison said "Genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration." Adam (and all the top performers of this or any other high quality band) put in more sweat on the details than lesser performers.
Well said! I agree Adam puts in a lot of work in his craft. But I also think that he has a special gift in what he does. Other people could practice all their life & never get as good at it. He is my favorite vocal percussionist/beatboxer.
Well said. Home Frees' members are some of the most hard working entertainers in the musical arena. They go the extra mile to make sure the music they put out is the best they can do and it shows.
@@dagmar.6954 Very likely, just as most of us, especially men, can work on low notes and maybe even sort-of hit them, but are just not physically capable of the resonance and control that Tim gets. Tim has both the physical capacity and he works his keester off on his whole range. It requires both to master what he does.
Your look of astonishment was priceless. Same for us. Every time we think they can't get any better, Home Free is like "Hold my beer, you ain't seen nothin' yet." It's astounding to me that they nailed the rapid fire cadence of the lyrics. It was so crisp, clear, precise and it sounded so good. Adam Rupp is without a doubt the GOAT. His beat boxing/vocal percussion is world class. (we tried to tell you - Adam Rupp drum solo video from 7 years ago will knock your socks off and as you can see, he's even better now.) His "no-monica" (what Home Fries call Adam playing harmonica without the harmonica), is in a class of it's own. Adam was asked how long it took him to learn to beat box and he answered, "I'm still learning." He started learning his craft 20 years ago. This song could stand in for a defibrillator. If it doesn't get your heart pumping it's too late for ya'. RIP Most fun you can have without going to jail.
The sound/instrument you were searching for is "harmonica" and Adam has utilized it to lesser effect in "Man Of Constant Sorrow" and "Workin' For a Living".
When people mention that Adam is the only clean shaven member of the group, this is the reason. He wouldn't be able to create those sounds. He has to have a clean seal with his mouth and hands. That started out as harmonica and ended up morphing into electric guitar.
This is why Adam Rupp is called Freak of Nature and the heartbeat of Home Free. 🤯 He was imitating a harmonica. I saw my favorite concert of all time with Adam, his siblings and Cypress Fyre last week! It was amazing. Definitely, my favorite harmonies I have ever heard. 🤯
Every time Home Free come out with a new song they blow me away with how complex and amazing they make them, great reaction and insightful analysis as always
These guys are just the best. That was such a great cover of Garth Brooks' song. What a fun & fast energy song. You can't help but jam along with it. The guys all did a great job & Adam was fabulous with his harmonica sounds & vocal percussion. Another winner to add to the list!
Great review of an awesome video! Thank you for your input I’ll be watching you over and over. Home Free is in a class by itself. They are the gold standard of a capella!
This is truly phenomenal! Incredible! Or really, there are just no words for it. Although I started thinking why they didn't let Chance do the lead because it really was a song for him. But then he came anyway. They all sang so wonderfully. And what is Adam so inhumanly freaking good With Home Free you no longer need other groups. Because slow or fast, high or low, serious or funny, they can really do any genre. HomeFree is perfect!😉
If you want am extended version of the heavy-stomp bit they did with "ain't going down till the sun comes up" Just listen to their cover of Hillbilly Bone
I have watched your reactions for quite some time, but don't believe I have commented, or at least, not many times. But had to tell you I simply love you and your reactions. You are -- as my daddy would have said, a hoot and a half. Love you! Love Home Free. This is perhaps their best video ever. Amazing overlays of Tim just hammering, booming and walking the bass.
Hey yo. The 'stach and beard look great, love you doggo, and O my word!! That was such an impressive song! Your insight allows greater appreciation. Thank You.
Of course they're all amazing, they're Home Free...! 😊 And with that said - even with Tims inhuman quality and range, Chances velvety voice, Robs pure heavenly tones and Austins power and heights - they need Adams magic for that feeling and effects we all love! And yes, the imitation of harmonica and guitar is of course spot on! They put out a video on Fb and Instagram with Adam explaining how he does. Great reaction, as always - we've missed you too! (Love the editor remarks as well! 😄)
The instrument Adam sounds like is a harmonica, which sometimes is included in country music, but sometimes Adam sounded also like an electric guitar so That's not so country, but it all still amazing talent and a vibe. Your doggie is so pretty, My lab mix is kind of a velcro dog too.
Love seeing Ella! She’s so cute! She must like Home Free, which means she has great taste in music groups! Lol This cover of Garth Brooks’ “Ain’t Going Down…” is a winner and fast became a new favorite (that list is getting longer). The tempo had to be crazy to learn lyrics to, and then Adam’s harmonica sounds and his percussion was awesome! I loved the duos they picked to harmonize together, too! Loved your reaction, Mortius! I learn things from you from time to time and/or hear things I may have missed after you point them out! Thank you for going outside your comfort zone and used Facebook to react to it! I totally get it. I only stay on FB for Home Free, and friends and family (some long distance cousins).
I haven’t heard this song in forever! Love what Home Free did with it - and as always I appreciated and enjoyed your analysis. Thanks for making the foray into Facebook ;)
Mortise, I was hoping for a reaction from you, and you did not disappoint. How about this bop as their encore song ? Leave 'em dancing in the aisles aye ??? Ella's is a Home Fry too ! ❤❤ love her !! You & Mrs Mortius have a great Saturday night & Sunday too !
That's Adam Rupp's phantom harmonica. You'll also hear him doing this in Man of Constant Sorrow, Workin' For a Livin' as well a a few of their concert videos. There's a short video where Adam explains how he mimics the harmonica.
Thank you Mortius for reacting to this AMAZING video and AMAZING version of this song. This is as you said so much fun!! Home Free are SO PHENOMENAL! I'm completely addicted to them and I'm so grateful for what they have brought to my life and for giving me and so many others true joy! This is 🔥! Sending you love from South Georgia ❤️😃🍟
Thank you for having Ella as a guest host. She is so sweet natured. And yes, anybody with a pulse should have been been dancing to this. I believe that the last high notes that Adam hit on his "harmonica" solos sounded exactly like an electric guitar hitting those highs. Great reaction.
So much fun with this song. The guys have you just bouncing with the music and can't keep from going back to listen again and again. Adam...amazing...Tim and Austin/Rob and Chance...amazing. Thanks so much for a terrific reaction.
Bear in mind Garth Brooks has a 9 or 10 piece band backing him when he does this song, it is the same band that he came up with from the early 90's. Now Homefree have done that with 5 guys and no instruments.
I went to my first Home Free concert on 5/29. They sang this song. It was exactly like video. Just amazing in person! Haha,Tim asked if anyone had an oxygen tank when it was over. The way Tim and Austin held that was so incredible. And they did it in the second set. If you ever have a chance to go to a concert,it is well worth it! Loved it.Adam was amazing as usual. The sound in concert is the same as on video. They are just that good!
If you love how they do the deep harmony while clapping you HAVE to react to Hillbilly Bone, that same sound is a feature of their version of that song.
Add all their wonderful voices to Adam's insane beat-boxing, and Darren Rust's outstanding arrangements and production and you get something special. Thank you for a great video, you have just such a great combination of musical knowledge and uninhibited reactions that it's always great to watch.
Your puppers is so cute! Good reaction Mortius. This is a crazy one. Adam was incredible doing the harmonica with no harmonica! Tim going super low was great. Then that phrasing…goodness that would wear me out. Can’t imagine doing this live. It’s a fun one!
Just saw them live Thursday and when they do Man of Constant Sorrow I about fell over when Austin joined Adam and did the harmonica and everyone lost their minds! So freaking cool!!!
Ironic as it might be my black Lab was doing the same as your dog during this video.... I just wasn't on-camera... loved the reaction as always... no go give that pretty baby some love...
This song is fire! A phenomenal masterstroke from the guys. Adam is ... WOW ... a sound machine on two legs. How many harmonicas did he have to swallow before to be so perfect LOL 😃🥰 Another great reaction as always!
You are fantastic!!!! Love watching your expressions and body movements in this video. Lol. You were as entertaining as Home Free. That was a great cover and your reaction was priceless, thank you for all your heartfelt greetings. Bless you !!! 🎼🦋🎵💕🎶
They all did a fantastic job but this was Adam's song IMO they showcased him and im so hoping they do this live it will be the best ever. Thanks for doing this 🙂🙂

I've read that Garth Brooks and/or his management are very copyright heavy so perhaps that's the problem. The antidote is Home Free - they've been vocal that they want their music played. If you watch Austin Brown's video of "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" - you need to watch the dialogue at the end of it!
Anything Garth Brooks is gonna be difficult to get on UA-cam due to copyright, but I’m glad to see Homefree’s version of this classic along with these reactions to it!
Any garth brooks song gets flagged really quick on UA-cam. I would love to see your reaction to everyone walking this land by home free. But you have to watch the entire video including Tim's message at the end
I was really looking forward to this (same with every new Home Free that comes out) because it's so fun to see your analysis on the technical side. I get bored just watching people smile and listen to is, so I love how you actually teach us stuff and do deep dives. I even have a mild understanding of dissonance now because of your review of Tim's Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Thanks for that! This was another great one from you and them. Love how they used the more/lesser pronounced country accents to their advantage to have Tim and Austin be the ones to sort of hype of the party and then Chance and Rob be the ones to cool everyone back down. Also, Ella is still adorable🤗 Understand the frustration with her wanting to be pet at slightly inconvenient times though😂
🤣 Did you really just say "What the Schnitzel?" (I love that movie!) And you loved this video a lot! Love watching you geek out over these guys. BTW, Ella is just gorgeous!!!
The musical instrument you are trying to work out that Adam Rupp the beat boxer is imitating is a harmonica , which is not just used in country music , but also used in a few other genres too
This is just so much fun. If I can ever learn the words, I'll be tempted to sing along. Maybe I should just stick to the stomping and clapping. I recently heard their cover of What We Ain't Got for the first time. Fabulous! A relatively early one, I think, since Chris Rupp is in it.
I love your reactions and you do have kids, the ones at school! 🙃 Thank you for checking this one. Need to check your video catalog, but have you reacted to their Boondocks/Fishin in the Dark video. Was an older one as Chris was still in the group, but it has somewhat the same feel. Keep them coming when you can!
I love Adam's "Harmonica" but he also does a very VERY convincing Trumpet as well, he can play wot I call a "physical" trumpet already but his "Fantom trumpet" is outstanding. I don't kno if there any vids with his "fantom trumpet" on but I hope there will B in the future B'coz it is incredible 🙂
I love your channel. You get so excited, and I love your dog. I just can't get enough of Home Free. I love the way you break it down. You catch so many things I miss.

Everyone asks how Adam Rupp makes the harmonica sound. This is where he explains it. ua-cam.com/video/e_1Jn1wtCts/v-deo.html

Although it may seem as if Adam is other worldly, he's actually from planet "Hard Work and Dedication". 20 years of perfecting his craft.
@@BarronessM Hate to say it, but with everything I have witnessed: Adam > Jayne....
@@lindanearing4710 "Hard work and dedication" is probably pretty common on his planet as well. Earth's is "Gimme it, it's mine!".

Rhythm reminds me of the Newscaster one.
I love your channel. You get so excited, and I love your dog. I just can't get enough of Home Free. I love the way you break it down. You catch so many things I miss.
You absolutely have to listen to Hillbilly Bone by Home Free if you enjoyed this one.
