    Rest in peace...John Prine. On par with Dylan, Lennon, and Willie...you sir...are one of the grestest lyricists, of all time. You will be sorely missed.

    We lost Davie in the Korean War and I still don't know what for. Don't matter anymore. Some of the saddest lyrics I ever heard thank you dear John for making my heart and soul much bigger and better

    John's honesty & kindness ring so clear & true even from an early age through the simplicity of his lyrics & fine stringmastery. Last month, Mother-Earth took back & covered-up a very kind and gentle man... Thank you, John.

      I fully agree with most of what you say but the simplicity of his lyric, that is a very rare gift that I and most people do not have

To you Sir: I appreciate your music and do hope that in the part of Heaven that is reserved for you you will receive any and all folks thoughts as to your music!!! May eternity be good to you. When I listen to John Prine I see a picture of Mark Twain, Will Rogers and Woody Guthrie all sitting at the diner drinking coffee and cracking each other up. Rest easy and thank you for everything John.

    Loved your music, I just heard it for the first time, and it was amazing. I now know what my capo is for. Never really used it until I watched, "Summers end, and all the best," I thank you and all you loved, for having it on UA-cam and playing those wonderful songs. GOD Bless...

    I am getting to know John Prines' music and I love it. I think he was from the Chicago area. When he talked about Chain of Sorrow it brings me back to the many peopled who were hit and killed by communter trains. You turn your back and it can happen so quickly. I love how he tells stories before he sings.

    I work with the elderly and “Hello in There” hits me so much harder seeing it in real life every day. Remind the elders in your life you love them, they have value, and most of them have so many stories to tell that they’re just bursting at the seams to share with an open ear, and you can learn so much.

    I never knew you till close to the time you had to leave. I don't believe in the hereafter except now here you are in the hereafter, and I do believe in you. I'm 100% sure you did this world a whole lot of good while you were alive. I think your records and tapes will carry on that work for a good long time. I know you're not reading this. That's life. Someone else may read my words, however, and concur. I would like that.

    So much has already been said about John. When I watch old video I also wonder about the rest of the band ,where are they now , the girl on bass with the beautiful harmony , I don't know anything about them, though I've watched this dozens of times..

    • @jimwebb9328
      @jimwebb9328 4 місяці тому

      The girl on the bass and singing harmony is Rachel Peer. For a few years she was married to John and so was credited on album notes as Rachel Peer-Prine. I'm pretty sure she did the original female vocal on the first recording of Unwed Fathers.
