bro I remember as a kid I use to look up gameplay of the Railway Adventures game since I never got it when I was little but I do have that Right on Time game and I loved it so much as a kid alongside the Vsmile Thomas and friends and Spongebob games. I had a great time with those games.
There actually were two Thomas games released on the PS1, both Japan-exclusive. The first game is basically a minigame collection, and the second is a drawing game that has a special peripheral. They were released under the Kids Station (a Japanese TV channel) label, and I believe all of these games are minigame collections themed after a different IP popular in Japan. Despite the PS1 release, they unfortunately use 2D sprites rather than 3D models.
The reason Thomas is relatively popular in Japan is because they're also pretty big fans of trains. So a children's character that's a sentient one just resonated with them.
I'd love to see you cover more Thomas games. I played some of the PC games when I was younger. My favorites were Trouble on the Tracks, The Great Festival Adventure and Thomas Saves the Day.
Y’know I never watched Thomas as a kid, I know many people are fans of it but I’ve just never watched it and it was very fun to watch this video without knowing any Thomas lore.
Good video as always Klej, although I have to admit I can't see much fun in most of these games, haha. I agree it's really interesting seeing UK kids' shows do well in Japan, Thunderbirds is another one that got popular over there. There's even a whole load of (not at all subtle!) visual references to Thunderbirds in Sonic X, which blew my mind when I first saw them as I hadn't found out about its popularity over there yet. Also, do you know the police drama 'Heartbeat'? It must be among the most British TV shows ever, but I've heard that it was also shown in the Netherlands, which is wild to me!
Thomas and Friends: A Day at The Races for the PS2 is an absolutely terrible game. It is one of the worst games i have ever played, and it is my most hated game of all time.
non-fandom people making fandom specific videos always gets us all nervous
I understand 🫡🫡

'It was time for Thomas to leave. He had seen *everything*.'
In other words, Thomas is in danger of getting bumped off, and he knows it
He was definitely being followed 😭😂
