my school friends would replace the word tequila with my name and sing the song back to me. Still makes me smile all the years later and I don't even drink.
Sean Hughes is the reason this video exists. He made a bet with Tony on the BBC comedy quiz show _"Never Mind the Buzzcocks"_ (episode 2, series 4, 18 September 1998) that Terrorvision couldn't get the most annoying song on their new album into the top 10 of the British music charts, and agreed to appear in the music video for it if they did manage it. _"Tequila"_ then debuted at number 2 in the charts on 24 January 1999, and so Sean made the video with them. In reality though, this was a bit of a publicity stunt for the band, since Sean and Tony had become friends over the last couple of years and had been trying to find a way to work together in some capacity since 1997, and the "bet" was really just a way for Sean to convince his manager to let him spend a couple of days drinking tequila and messing about with his friends.
Recuerdo esta canción alla por 1999, lo veia todos los dias por Mtv y me encantaba, me llenaba de energia para ir a estudiar y recuerdo que esa coreografía me hacia reir bastante, gratos recuerdos con esta canción 🎶 😊
I remember my older sister had their album, played it for what like seemed forever. Whole family fell in love with that album. X amount of years later and still playing their music every now and again
this song was played to me, aged 5, in the car on the way to wales, I asked my parents what it was , they said it was am adult drink, that helped them make me :) I know now what they meant. GREAT
Tony is an absolute legend of the 90's, he's an truly nice guy also. Had a little chat with him yesterday about old school vinyl and record players....
This song reminds me of my childhood/early teens listening to the radio in my room when i got my first sterio, then when i was 17 my mate gave me one of her old NOW albums with this on it! One of my all time fave songs!!
I’m Italian and I use to have a bar on one island in china, I play these song every night and for a while became very popular in china, So you welcome Sorry for my rusty English
Brilliant idea. I love this song,Terrorvision were tremendous fun.Tony Wright is a very funny guy. This song always makes me smile and feel very happy, even without tequila! ;-)
@@roryslaine7896 It has gotten worse, the only songs that I listen to in 2021 is Ed Sheeran (never thought I say I listen to Eds music!) Bad habits which has an '80s vibe to it, Dua lipa love me again (pretty much a cover of 1997's 'I could never be your woman' and another cover practically by Ava Max 'my head and my heart'. There is still too much soppy guys with guitars out there and repetitive dance tunes which are pretty flat. Don't hold much hope for the rest of the decade, I be delighted to see a major improvement, more variety of mainstream music which has seriously declined in the past 5 years.
WOW!! haven't heard this in awhile, reminds me of a time when a big group of us used to go out and do a huge amount of tequila, its when i first met my wife too, great great memories:)
Tequila slammer, Corona... Repeat 5+ times and never a hangover. This song just brings back memories... I still have Tequila and one bottle of Corona. But, no lime! I've got to be at work in 9 hours, so no drinking today... ;-(
Nothing parties like this song. It immediately slaps you in the face, without apologies and say, 'Party on, you moron! Leave your worries and drink TEQUILA!'
Fantastic song to get a party started...or even better when the ale and tequila has started flowing...many happy days associated with this, particularly in the 90's. I challenge anyone to not start dancing like a loon when this starts after a few bevvies.
this is the number one partay choon! always have a bottle of tequila handy for when it plays! we used to conga to this when it first came out, ahh good times...
hey up,just wanted to say that i havent forgotten your friend who passed away, every now and then i think of this and your friend and it reminds me of how lucky i am,funny there from bradford and im from leeds next door, all the best
A girl in my year at high school (who I didn't hang around with) her father worked for Terra visions record company and her and some othwr girls in my year at school done the 'Tequila' singing (well of you can call it singing) lol

This reminds me of the 90’s and TFI Friday. God life felt a lot more fun back then. This decade is heavy AF.

Dude 100%.. Just fun n frivolity.. I feel like everyone's so intense, angry and upset, they've forgotten to have fun. I miss the 90s

I was going to write that, as I didn't realise he was in the video! So sad
