Yes, switching to a menstrual cup is the best thing a woman can do for herself! There are several choices out there, and it has a bit of a learning curve. Once mastered, it becomes life changing!
You should put labels on the bottom of you aluminium tins so you can find the one you want without having to go through the all x
I'd love to see a tutorial on how to use these powders to cleanse your hair if you don't have one already. So cool!
Zeisel Devorah I kind of do in my no poo videos but a dedicated video is a great idea!
You are my minimalism queen.
I would like to see if it's possible what do you have for your bike, what is necessary to have when going biking. Including tools, clothing, bike preference.
I am so in love with your traveling
And if you enjoy doing more tourism around Thailand including fruits, cooked vegan food.
my favourite make up remover is simply just coconut oil, smell so good, works great. also works as a deodorant actually, but i find in the summer it doesnt work. i think its ok for the winter but will check out that deo you mentioned for summer days. thanks !!
Safety 👏 razors 👏 are 👏 where 👏 it’s 👏 at
Yes the amla , shikakai and reetha powder is used in India for hair washing. Not everyone use it but yes it's indian tradition . These are very very good for hair.
i got my dad a vintage stainless steel safety razor for his birthday, you only need to replace the steel blade rarely, they're very very very cheap and they can be recycled. he loves it and says it was "the best shave of my life" haha
Shelley J I would like to get one but you can't travel with them in hand luggage!
Oh my goodness!! I've just discovered your channel and I am obsessed!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your bits of wisdom about minimal lifestyle + beauty!!
this crystal deodorant is made of "potassium alum". it's an aluminium salt. according to our national institute of risk assessment (Germany, BfR) the aluminium concentration is around 20%. in commercial deoderants it's around 7%. the higher the concentration the higher the skin absorption. the institute operates under the assessment that the aluminium iones in the salt deodorant are set free (water soluble) and it's expected to be absorbed into the skin. bämbämbäm. sorry, just thought to let you know what I've researched.
gretadunkler I'm so confused because on the packaging of the deodorant it is advertised as 'aluminium free'. If it does contain aluminium that could be pretty serious misleading of customers! There would be so many people buying this deodorant in order to avoid aluminium!! What the hell!
Madeleine Olivia but I'm still using a completely aluminium free deodorant. I don't even have cancer in my family tree. for me personally it's alright, not wonderful, but I smell socially acceptable :D my last struggle is the days of my period. my hormone levels change and I smell stronger. working solution: mid day wash over a sink and reapply... 😒
Maybe it says that because there's no added aluminium? Would be quite the PR trick...
Nina Fischer cosmetic declaration doesn't work that way. I checked their label, it says "NO aluminium *chlorohydrate*" which is correct. aluminium chlorohydrate is an often used form of aluminium in deodorants. their declaration is acceptable. they didn't write "no aluminium at all" or "0% aluminium".. that would be a lie. it may be conceived as sneaky, but it clearly stated what is and what isn't in it. aluminium is the 3rd most common mineral on earth..naturally..so just because they used a mineral salt that has aluminium ions naturally in it, doesn't mean they "didn't add any". they did. the only ingredient is an aluminium salt.
gretadunkler So is this comment saying the deodorant is healthy or not?. Im having a hard time folling the comments on this.
I think you should consider using a sunscreen since Thailand is really sunny. If you want a natural option, red raspberry oil is great! It has SPF rating of 28 to 50.
The Selcouth Girl We are using sunscreen it just wasn't in this video as we bought some when we got here!
Safety razors are zero plastic and much cheaper. I got a really good one from wish . i thought i would just try a cheap one to see if I could use it without cutting myself before spending $60 on a razor (as they cost in my country) but it turned out the $7 i got was good metal that has lasted so well and feels like such good quality. I also got 100 blades for $5. 100% recyclable and last longer than the usual mach blades. Only thing I got to say is that safetey razors give a closer shave, so you dont need to go over any spot twice with a very light paw. If you're heavy handed, you'l give yourself a razor burn from hell.
video on mooncup :*
I loved that salt deodorant but after about a year it stopped working for me and my husband. We started using it again years later and it works again now.
I would love to know more about how you use the powders to wash your hair. I'm struggling so much with 'no poo/low poo' and can't seem to find anything that works! I would love to know the quantities and how you actually use them because your hair looks wonderful.
Hello from Thailand,I love your video so much, especially beauty content. ❤
Found this from wikipedia, but not sure whether it causes any harm or not. But hopefully one of the ingredients for your homemade toothpaste are not baking soda. Also I really love your channel
I'd really love a video about the moon cup C:
Schmidt's all natural, cruelty free, vegan deodorant is the only thing that has worked for me and it's between 85-110 degrees in the Summer here. I will love Schmidt's forever lol!
Becky Johnson thanks for the reccomendation :-)
Schmidt’s is also my all time favorite!
I have used 2 concealers , 1 cream foundation , and 2 of the new pressed powder it's just the best product ever x
Glass containers are best, aluminium leeches a lot of toxins, as well as stainless steel but in lesser ammounts.
Metal diffuses molecules, it is a known fact. You can weld 2 pieces of metals , by presing them together with light pressure, for a year, you would get a weld, because the molecules migrate from one metal to the other
please make the moon cup video
Please do a video on the moon cup
Just bought your ebook! Excited to try out No Poo when I get back to the UK in July and can manage to buy all the ingredients!
Digital Nomad Girl Yay so happy you got it! Hope you love it!
organic products are really amazing especially if you have sensitive skin......
I would like to know how you wash your hair with powder
Great travel stuff it's a good size we sometimes carry to much stuff we don't need.
What about sunscreen? What is the best natural option? What works best for you?
Vicky Ouimet We got one over here! I would love advice on natural sunscreens! We basically run out of time before we left to research and get a good one so just have a generic one over here!
Mooncup video please :)
I have a question: I know these cristal deodorants, but they are Aluminium cristals. So what is the one you showed? Just salt? I can't imagine how that should protect me from getting a little smelly. Can you tell me more about it?
Greetings from Germany 😊
Ansalexandra S. salt prevents bacteria naturally. Think of when back in the old days, people would salt their meats and put them in a meat house or basement to store and the salt would prevent rotting because it's a natural astringent
Yes! It was an odd concept for me to grasp, but when you put it like that it makes so much sense. I've been using this type of deodorant for about 7 months now and it's the best natural deodorant I've used and because it's a stone, one container has lasted me the entire 7 months.
I hope I didn't assume wrong in thinking you speak German :)
Ansalexandra S. Gotta say this deodorant doesn't work for me :-(
They work for me really well
Hello! Firstly, congratulations on your move. Thailand is a wonderful place.
Perhaps the following questions are less relevant now, but I still feel it is an important subject. How did your family and friends react and support you when you started your journey of minimalism? How did you deal with birthdays and Christmas where you're bound to receive gifts you don't need. In my instance, I feel like a lot of the clutter I have recently banished from my life has come from friends and family on those occasions where they have those 'I didn't know what to get you, so I just got this.' moments. Did you explain that you don't need gifts? Also, how did your friends and family support your veganism in similar circumstances? I'd love to see a video about these subjects at some point, as I'm aware that these lifestyle choices are for your own benefit and peace of mind, but I feel that the support and cooperation of those surrounding you is really important.
Thank you for your time, I appreciate it very much!
Elizabeth Jepmond I am very lucky that my family has been incredibly supportive of my minimalism and veganism journey! At first it can take time for people to understand fully where you are coming from and adjust, but they have always been accommodating and supportive! For Christmas I specifically set up a wish list of things I actually needed so that everyone knew the things I wanted. I also asked for money and pointed out that I didn't want any nik naks or random bits from them which they totally appreciated. It's all about communication with people!
Madeleine Olivia Thank you very much. You're a great inspiration for me at this time in my life when I am finally getting rid of the things and habits that have owned me for such a long time.
Have a great day, take care.
Love the video! I would be interested to see your gear, but also more info on what editing program you use and stuff like that :D
the cristal deo is surely very compact but contains aluminium which is not healthy.
I have been following your channel for awhile, and I just love it! Thank you for being you. You have talked about your ebook and I am curious, as I have written my own book (a book about love) - did you have to get an ISBN number to upload your book into Payhip. I hope you don't mind me asking, but was hoping in these online communities that we create with each other, we can also share the in's and out's of what we do. And maybe you could do a video about the process of getting your ebook published. I know I would love to watch that, and so may many other people. Thank you Madeleine.
I wanna see a routine video and a Thailand favorites. Maybe do favorites once a month.
MsFaithAmber Great ideas!
im also a minimilist that's why i used roadeavour's travel toiletry kit!
How is your hair and skin reacting to the different climate?! Any tips of what to take cycling?
Loved seeing this!
Thank you for your video! Can you tell us more about how to reduce waste please?
Can you do a video on how you use the amla shikaikai and neem powder ? Please
What I eat in a day and some diy videos
I love your videos so much! 💓💓
Wow just when I think I have it together 😩 I make my own soap and lip balm as well. I am gonna make my own lotion next week 👍👍 I did no poo for over 2 weeks and I gave in 😞 I used shampoo yeaterday I use vegan shampoo but my hair was getting so greasy even with ACV and water. I totally want that razor. For sure add that to the video cause that was next on my list disposable razors 😞 totally want to learn more about your new tampons 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I stopped using tampons as well but hate pads Let me know ....
Rach C Give no poo another go! Just give it time! Just start easy with your vegan shampoo stretching the days between wanshes!
I just bought that dazzling electric toothbrush using YOU as a discount code ... thank you
No sun cream?
seems like theres a plethora of homemade makeup options for fairer skin, but for deeper skin tones there are literally no options. i want to minimize/go vegan with my makeup, but the colour selection is very very limited.
I know you miss your toothbrush. What I did when I changed was set a timer so I still brushed my teeth for 2 minutes.
Michelle Chick that is so smart I should have thought of that! Thank you!
The moon cup is the fucking bomb 👌 great video babe
Do you make your own shaving cream?
The deodorant is my favorite thing, so glad you recommended it!!! How long is the toothbrush code valid? Just wondering cause I'm interested but also won't be back in the UK for uni until august, and not sure I want to drag it by plane :p
May it's valid for as long as I am sharing and using it!
What do you use for body lotion? I am going back packing and this is what I am having issues with because I love making my own products but its hard to pack..
Hi, l would like to know more about the electric toothbrush. I used to use one from oral B, but I want to cange it. Thank you.
Love this
the electric toothbrush link isn't there! which one?
Idk why but i always feel nervous when i put any kind of powdery stuff in luggage (like they gonna check cuz it gonna look suspicious)😅😅
Tuugii Tse Haha I felt the same when I brought it over here but it was fine 😊
Madeleine Olivia im glad im not alone😅
wish that deodorant was in USA!
i need your eBook omg
Kea Lynn it’s available on Amazon! I purchased mine the other day. The Healthy Option Crystal Spring Salt Of The Earth Deodorant. www.amazon.com/dp/B01CZ60GAU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XTqKAbHD802FX
There is a different brand of the same thing in the US! I got mine at Walgreens, but I’ve seen it at CVS and Walmart. I’ve had mine for over a year and I still have the majority of it left. It comes in a pink container or roll on and is called Crystal Body Deodorant Stick. It is endorsed by Cancer Treatment Centers and has no fragrance or parabens. :) Hope that helped! If you are using a regular chemical deodorant, there will be a bit of an adjustment period but they are amazing once your body adjusts!
Hey Maddie, I'm getting ready to study abroad and right now the razor I'm using is only available in the US and is really bad on waste, I had been using a safety razor, but the blades drove my skin crazy, I don't know if it was because I was shaving with just coconut oil? But do you think your razor would be a good option for me/does it work with just coconut oil, because I don't want to get a shave gel with chemicals >.
Bree Black It works really really well! Like a normal razor I used to buy but better! Another low waste option could be an electric razor!
Do you have tips for Chiang Mai? I'm going there tomorrow :)
what are the powers? where did you buy them ?
Hey Maddie! Ive been using my bamboo toothbrush for a short while now...I feel that it's actually much softer then conventional ones. So what I remember from being in a tropical country (Nicaragua) with all these yummy exotic fruits is that they can really hurt your mouth with there acidity!! Like the gingiva gets irritated and the teeth feel more sensitive. Maybe that what's happened to you too ;)
Meli Weihe I was experiencing sensitivity before in the U.K. I might start timing how long I brush for and see if that helps!
I made my toothpaste myself as you did but now that it's summer it melts all the time. How do you deal with that?
The Ellie's Diary put it in the fridge!
oh that easy ahahahah thanks
I've got that deodorant!
