Loved that Burger King commercial when break dancing was all the rage back then. That Whopper title though 😂 Also, we're 20 volumes away from hitting number 1,000 of 80's Commercials! Keep it going!
1:04 - I always keep a box of frozen seafood hidden on my person, so I can surprise my friends and family by asking them, "How about some great seafood tonight". It gets a little awkward sometimes, and I get some strange looks, but it's what I do, damn it.
Luvs- Throughout this commercial, It's fun watching the man play with the baby. At the end when the baby takes his glasses, it's the icing on the cake when it comes to the cuteness factor. All- A clever idea and impressive animation of the multiple copies of the "All" logo eat away at the stain on the shirt until It's gone.
1:15 - I remember when Siskel and Ebert reviewed I Know What You Did Last Summer, they said the killer Fisherman in that movie looked like the Gorton's Fisherman from the commercials...And they were right.
The Drive In Movie started on WNEW in 1981 as a Saturday afternoon double feature showing Shaw Brothers and other kung fu movies and B-horror/exploitation films but by 1984 it was down to only one movie each week until the end of its run in 1988. By that time WNEW/WNYW would be showing those same movies in their late night "Hollywood's Finest" blocks. On Feb 18th 1984 the movie at 3pm was the 1981 Shaw production INSTRUCTORS OF DEATH aka MARTIAL CLUB from Lar-Kau Leung starring Gordon Liu!
100% agree I still love the hostess mini chocolate donuts. Also never knew benihana got into the frozen food market back then, I certainly wouldn't say no to their hibachi shrimp it's always my go-to whenever I went for a birthday with the family.
11:22 - I at first thought this was some kind of bizarre commercial for an airline, parodying a soap opera or something. I think it's because I think the woman looks like a flight attendant in that outfit.
Gorton's Light Recipe Seafood Entrees-before the fisherman switched to his yellow coat Burger King-Turbo and Ozone missed out Hostess Donuts-Fresh..? those mustve just came from the bakery The Seven-Ups-the ending to that car chase 😱 Shoprite-that sandwich looked good Benihana-reminds me of that Korean comic Iron Wok Jan
I turned 3 when these aired, and today I'm turning 42! Thank you for keeping these blocks of pure nostalgia going! 💖

If The Seven Ups is not about the Cool Spot mascot fighting a crime wave, I'm not watching it.

I was just telling my son about Hostess O's with the jelly! Man I miss those!!! I'd give anything just to go back for a day!!!!
The Sagal twins were at the end of that Doublemint gum commercial, and were about to start their NBC sitcom "Double Trouble."
Mmm... I want donut now.
That All commercial: If your air filter is as black as that, you're in deeper trouble than just dirty laundry, dad.

01:34 sick jam
Hellman's mayo for 99 cents!
