  • Taking a quick look at our Smith and Wesson 38 Special Model 60. This is a no dash model from the mid to late 70's. Love this little snub nose revolver. An iconic model for Smith and Wesson. The model 60 came to market in 1965 as the first production stainless steel model and continues to this day as a signature in the Smith line up. Great little J-Frame

    Excellent looking pistol!
    I have a 10-5, 60-3, & 66-2 all snub nose pistols. They are fun to shoot and excellently handcrafted firearms!

    That's so shined up, at first glance it almost looks like a nickeled model 36 !

    Your mom had good taste! I have a couple vintage model 60’s (‘82 & ‘74). I carry the ‘82 and or a ‘62 model 36 (Chief Special) everyday. Great little carry guns.

    I love the high polished stainless steel S&W revolvers. It’s even nicer when you help them along with that shine. 😎

    I carry a 60 everyday , or a vintage Early 60’s model 49 , both shoot like a laser , 5-7 yards , right on it . That’s a nice one you have there , I would however , check under those rubber grips occasionally as they will gather moisture , and stainless will rust if left unchecked .

    Nice gun and yes all polished like that it looks just like a 36. The model 60's of the 1970s would have had a brushed stainless finish. Nothing that a scotchbrite pad couldn't fix up

    I just traded a sig p229 40sw that I got for cheap a while back because it was a ex police gun for this same model 60 no dash like yours..it is in perfect condition and barely looks used..

    Great video, thank you for all the useful info. I have a model 60 and couldn't figure out when it was produced. It looks like it was manufactured in the mid 80's.

    you missed when the pinned barrel assembly was stopped (it was during the no-dash production run AFAIK)

    I have a question please: what about same revolver in stainless, but without writing "mod 60" and the serial number begins with "W" not "R"?

    How can a mod-60 no dash not have a pinned barrel?

    • @lordjesus8871
      @lordjesus8871 4 роки тому +1

      It's not a no dash, j frames didn't fit dash numbers until like dash 10.

      I was about to comment the same thing. I could have sworn he said it was a no dash gun which would automatically mean it has a pinned barrel but I guess not. I have a Model 64-2 from 1977 and it has a pinned barrel.

    I have a Beautiful model 60-9 357 magnum and it's been ported 1 7/8" barrel. I call it my little Jimmy Dickens gun as Jimmy use to say I'm little but I'm loud and when I shoot the Federal 125 grain JHP's through it it's so loud your teeth will chatter!!!

      Right own brother Love the 60-9 its absolutely my favorite revolver its a stunning beautiful piece that can handle full hot Magnum loads but still extremely comfortable to use and not really bulky to carry...
