Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to UA-cam videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
Thanks man moth we are still listening.
Legend. 👍
Who's listening in 2024? ❤
Haven't stopped since I started listening, 5 years ago!
Me too it's amazing radio ,I love how Ricky gets really angry with karl
Yep been listing since 2008 😂😂
Yes mate since about 2009 lol
I do a lot of long distance driving for work and this is all I listen to
Karl: "I teased you with it before,"
Ricky: "Are you gonna get it out again?"
so quick
Karl: I'm always, like, tryna get you, ya know, thinking, open-nn, opening ya..."
Ricky: Legs."
Karl: "Aren't you meant to keep it..."
Ricky: "Above the waist? Looking at his bollocks? Erect?"
@Canaan Alonso Definitely spam bullshit. Ignore.

Overlooked gem by Steve:
(karl and his mom make the same rockbuster clue)
Steve: "Great minds think alike, so this is obviously a coincidence."
Kevin Quatman That is pure genious.
Kevin Quatman Just to counter that, KQ, a teacher of mine used to say ‘fools seldom differ’.
Genius, I have since used that one

Still here on the verge of 2024. Hard to believe these shows are 22 years old next year. A source of comfort and laughs all these years later. It makes me think of a London I never knew. We all grew up with Karl; here’s to growing old.
and they didn't feel 20 years old last year...

I went to like this comment, then realised i liked it the last tine around.
Half man, half biscuit.

I can’t believe Karl confused monkeys with lizards living underground, like his brain just instinctually tries to transform regular news into monkey news

Hope you've recovered and are once again.. properly.
Are you a bit demicy?
46:21 - i love their giggles when karl says "eurgh...sick of this" :.)
The funniest part is the fact that he thinks jellyfish are annoying and this is in 2002 - then ten years later he does another podcast with these two about room 101 (102) and he still hates jellyfish 😄😄 it's pretty funny that he has had that jellyfish rage building for 10+ years. Fucking brilliant Karl !
👍
What's 'fucking brilliant' about hating jellyfish and *still* hating them 10 years later? For the most part, if you have a standout hate for something, it's a safe bet you'll always hate it. I've hated wasps for well over 10 years.. Is that fucking brilliant?
@@TheRowlandstone73 I guess the difference lies between saying funny stuff on a radio show/podcast and writing shitty comments on UA-cam
@@MrSkinnyWhale No, I think the difference lies between explaining a simple lifelong hatred of something and someone being incredibly easily pleased by the least little thing.

+OmikronWeapon Pretty sure the last one is Hammer to fall by Queen
+Erling Hansen After listening to the song, I'd have to agree with that. I added it. Thank you :)
(Though I'm hearing "HEY" in the XFM version as opposed to "YEAH" in the original. Wonder what that's about)

This is probably their best podcast, both in terms of the content and their relationship. It sours later. And this one is hilarious throughout
DV M this is a radio show
Good ep for sure. Season 2 is the strongest overall I feel.
"It's just one of her shortcomings" has to be one of Ricky's best jokes!
What about Pilkington? *PARKINSON THEME PLAYS OUT OF NOWHERE*
He mentioned Parkinson right before that!!
That's the joke. Because they rhyme.
@@RationalAxis Well Pilkington and Parkinson do not rhyme.
"plays out of nowhere" when it's an óbvious reference. UA-cam is líttered with stuff like this.
"you guys! I bet you didn't notice thís!" completely obvious to everybody.
If you think it's fúnny or póignant, that's great. But it isn't "out of nowhere".
@@omikronweapon I don't think OP meant it like that. I think he meant the suddenness that Karl plays the theme, he barely skips a beat after saying his line and also I think the theme is played at a slightly raised volume vs. their voices. This combination makes it pretty funny, which is I guess what OP was saying. I've always found that bit funny anyway every time I listen to this episode - how Karl leads into it and the theme suddenly plays. I can just imagine Karl being proper chuffed with the delivery of it, having practiced it in his head prior to the show going out.
I could hear my dad in the background saying bollocks 😅😂😅😂
17:50 - "Well erm, I teased yer with it before an...erm.." *coughs* "You gotta get it out again?" xD
Karl- I teased u with it before
Ricky- u gonna get it out again
That made me cry laughing
17:48
Love Karl cutting Ricky off at the end.
I watched a documentary about jellyfish recently, and it just kept making me think of Karl. I would love to see a 'Do we need 'em?' TV series.
Was the entire doc about jellyfish? God that must have been dull!
jellyfish are 92 percent water, why not just give em another 8 percent and make em water
The reason a TV series would fail is the same reason Karl's segment failed. The premise is flawed. 'Do we need 'em?' is a stupid question, as evidenced by the people who were kind enough to waste their time being bemused by a moron.
It's Karl at his Dunning Kruger-afflicted worst. If only he had spent a little more time trying to understand the subject, he never would have called these people. A little more study and even the idea of calling them would feel mildly embarrassing.
I think Ricky was happy to let Karl dangle on the subject of evolution, speciation etc because there was more comedic mileage in keeping Karl ignorant and arrogant in his opinions. Although to be fair, he did present Karl with the simple fact that if a species exists, it has earned its place.
@@NxDoyle shut up man

Yeah I can't sleep without them
I never had trouble sleeping, and to be honest I always preferred it quiet, but after discovering these three....I'd rather have them yapping away to each other every night.
I'd love to hear the full 50 minutes 'pilkington' interview 🤣😂🤣
“If you stood him in the desert you wouldn’t know” Karl talking about a little midget fella. Brilliant
lol it's always little fella
little midget fella
little gay fella
little Chinese fella
little wheelchair fella
like these are critical situation in which you being able to tell if someone's a midget is vítal. xD
"Agáin, Steve, if I were to meet them in a restaurant...."
Really, it's just Karl (unconsciously) defending his crass words. Though, it's quite intriguing how his mind works. He's honestly convinced himself it's necessary to have nicknames like "Elephant-man" or indeed, "little midget fella". As if most of Britain is likely to be bumping in to these characters, or discussing them on a daily basis.
Karl: I just don't know what to call this deformed person!
Little deformed fella: Just call me John, that's my name.
Karl at restaurant: Party of Pig-faced man of South Sussex, please.
John: ffs...
@@QueeferSutherland1 Don't forget the little Jamaican fella.
By far the best XFM show.

They're all talking like "I'll always be part of this"
It's a lot sadder in 2019
Kevin Thompson so weird as I read your comment he said it the exact same time
Not really. He just means a part of the show as long as they're doing it. Karl is right that it's better to leave it, at least for a little bit. I'm fairly positive it will come back when it's time.
@@notmyname9261 I don't think it ever will. Karl has said it wouldn't work, and that he hates it when oldie entertainers go back to what they did in their twenties for a cheeky cash grab.
And he's right. As much as I'd love more content, it would be cringe or just awkward if they got back together and tried to do this stuff again. Many things have changed.
@@ufoash440 Yeh I can't see Ricky in particular doing this again as he seems to choose carefully what he does, says, or is affiliated with. Apart from those crappy films on Netflix he's been in where he's a detective or a journalist or whatever. I just looked on IMDB and saw he does a lot of voice acting, didn't realise that
Karl loves banging on about that random pointless play from Primary School lol.
Best thing he'd ever done
How can people think that ghost woman is Claire Sturgess? Lol.
Obviously not.
I think it sounds suspiciously like her, perhaps effecting an older voice and with an effect on top.
"Well there's things you can learn from it, either don't go to Turkey..."

I can't believe no one has ever called Karl out on that Chuck Berry clue. It doesn't work! His name isn't Don't Chuck Berry. START throwing that fruit about would work.
Wait so you're saying his rockbusters clues are twaddle? Nooo
Lol I love the last minute.
Always funny when the show abruptly ends with them still talking haha.
Armour gonna have to thump ya
chick-can you believe it.
I love how Ricky has a go at Karl for asking "when was that" because he was there - but Ricky's first answer was "I don't know". HE was there!
“He’s going for the glam look! DRESSED FOR A JUMBLE SALE!”

Greatest ever educating Ricky
Why do people dislike these podcasts? 🤔
"Weird innit?"
Probably just the ones who are forever complaining about Ricky laughing and Karl talking so quiet, and nobody has fixed it and made their tiny world perfect, so they take their wickle tantrums out on the dislike button.
That, plus people who have no sense of humour.
probably because they are stuck up pricks with no sense of humour.
@@deltaframes-os4km hahahahahaha, such a ridiculous comment. Send me your comedy material please.
1:37 "It's China coal" lol that's what I always hear when he says this line
Still love Karl! IMO they never bettered these original XFM shows. Apart from the office, this was their apex. f you're a fan of the K-man and you missed his cameo as the copper recently in ‘the thief, his wife and the Canoe’ he was genuinely good. Was pleasantly surprised. The whole show was good too! But seeing him call ‘bullshit’ made it all worthwhile. Would never have guessed from these days he’d ever be able to act. Miles better than in Derek. Displayed some actual nuance...
Thanks for the tip, had no idea he’d even done this. Proper little acting role there, he’s actually quite good. It’s on UA-cam if anyone else is interested.
Mental! I've been listening to these clips for a year now and I've never heard "Pilkington" the interviewer 😂😂
Best Rockbusters prizes ever
rickys explanation of homeopathy is brutal
What was he on about?
As someone who knows nothing about it I had no idea what he was on about.
And he says Karl is bad at explaining himself!
sounded perfectly understandable to me. His explanation anyway. Perhaps the reason why it sounds like gibberish is because homeopathy IS gibberish. The basic meaning is to get a substance that actually works, but then thin it down SO much, that there's nothing there anymore.
It's like putting a single grain of salt in a glas of water and claim it tastes salty. Or rather: claim it's good for you because it contains salt.
Isn't that exactly what Ricky explained? I guess it hinges on people knowing what "dilute" means.
@@omikronweapon completely agree what was vague about his explanation?
"Dont order calamari" - Im in tears, got to be the cleverest thing he has ever said.
And the way he pronounces it “colimari” 😂

Gladys Knight was a great Rockbuster answer! And Mister Mister was, too.
Your not on crack!
39:34 the way Steve says "ah screw it..." kills me haha
I love how Karl says he can't say the word twat because it'd be irresponsible yet says bollocks in the very next link🤣

He had magic powers, or was he four foot?
'the wardrobe doors opened'

A man lost his arm = Education
Karl's mam's Rockbusters are so sweet.
In fairness I can understand why a few people are going a bit Columbo (one more thing, my wife loves ya) and suspecting Karl's ghost story guest is actually Sturgess as they do sound similar.
Their voices aren't actually the same though. Pilky obviously didn't just pull a fast one by getting Claire in. She would've been too coked up anyway.

So, I máy have bought the album second hand júst because I liked the intro to this song. I couldn't find it anywhere online, and even the official site is (long?) dead.
I figure, since second hand sales aren't going towards the artist, I'm mostly excused for sticking it online.
My first music upload, so I have no idea if or when it's going to be taken down. I guess I'll find out. I have no interest in gaining money or subs for this, simply to share his music online, so at least people can lísten to it.
The rest of the album is worth a listen as well, in my opinion. I plan to upload those as well.
Is the footage they were filming here anywhere
Who’s listening in 2035?
For anyone wondering where the part about ghosts starts is 21 mins in.
The craptic clue "stop throwing that fruit about" makes no sense when the answer is Chuck Berry...oh wait, I think think that was a collaboration between KP and his mum!😆x
Actually, I can't find anything wrong with that clue at all! :p Some of them are actually faultless! Others for me include Weezer, Cher, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Limp Bizkit, Buzzcocks, Nickleback, Stiff Little Finges, Supertramp, Flaming Lips...
Don't get me STARTED on Alex Parks, though! XD
yeah, what's wrong with chuck berry? it works. brilliantly, compared to most of the others. It's lacking in grammar a bit, but for once it's actually the exact words, rather than some pronounciation, or exchanging some of the letters.
@@HopeVJustice ah, Supertramp, kicking the feature off decently. Though the bloke that guessed it didn't even understand why it was right. Seemed pretty straight forward to me. How did he come up with it then? Still a better contestant than Smelly Eyebrows girl though.

Karl's Mum's clues are so cute. 😍
I feel Karl's frustration. He had told the Turkey story in a previous episode and Ricky forgot. He must have felt like they didn't listen to him!
