I think its incredible that you start out with that size enclosure for your baby tegus and move them into something bigger when they're adults. I've seen so many adults in a 4x2, you really cant go wrong giving them as much space as you can!

Hey! Just want to say thank you so much for all of your videos they are super helpful! About the basking temp, I’ve seen sites saying basking temp should be 110 for babies and 120 for adults. Is 115-120 basking temp good for both babies and adults. Thank you! Hope to purchase a baby from you sometime. ❤️

You said working together to flip the water dish. Lol I picture a 3 on 3 tug of war over the dish. Rorrrr!! Lol My tegu dirties the heck out of his dish daily but at least it’s not smelly nor do I find any floaters. Great tip about having the basking slate flat to deter burrowing. I did and had it that way for around an hour when I had my Chacoan. Meaning the day I got em. Luckily I thought better of it and did what you said before I found out the hard tragic way.

So I’ve seen people say 130 degrees for basking temps. I always thought that seemed off. I run 115. When I switched my year old to his 8x4 he prolapsed basking and the temp was 130. Didn’t think that was the issue bc it’s “within range” well a day later he did the same thing. Ended up adjusting it back to 115 and it hasn’t happened in over a week. I’m now certain 130 degrees for a basking temperature is wayyy too hottt

Love your videos! My female seems to be very nervous. I’ve had her about 2 weeks now and she getting more comfortable with me hand feeding her with tongs but I still can’t really hold her without her freaking out. I try not to wake her up in the evenings because the last time I did she bit me. She’s in an 8ft enclosure right now because the only other size I had was a 10 gallon. She has she’s twice since I got her as well. She’s eating well, kind of running towards the glass now where before I had to go slow and put it right in front of her face.
