When I lived in Argentina I saw them knock down bee's nests to eat the honey out of them and if the bees's nests were low to the ground they would run at them with their tails up to knock them down.
Great video. Just gotta say, dude seems like he just came from some place hard, like a war zone, prison, the hood and said fuck it, I'm gonna raise tegus and retire 🤣🤣🤣
your storing your hornworms incorrectly. flip the lid so the food is at the top and so they climb up to eat it, prop the lid up with a pencil for ventilation, and empty all the poop daily. the food goes bad way fast if you don't
Can you help I have a tegu and I watched a care video and it said if you feed the tegu before hibernation it will die I was wondering if you could tell me about tegu hibernation
I like watching the tegu videos! :) I don't have one my dad won't let me get one but I really enjoy learning about them. Could you post the tegu breaking habit very soon please and is it kind of the same with other reptiles?
Why is Home Depot substrates bad? I’ve heard from a few private breeders that the best bang for you buck and for your animals wellness was to go and purchase your substrate at places like Home Depot as long as it has no fertilizers or chemicals. They added that springtails help with mold and fungus. Are there other bugs in them? And excited to be a returning customer this season!
Basic tegu set up! 20 gallon long or more to allow the lizard to thermal regulate its body temperature (TEMPERATURE) 75 watt bulb or greater! Baby tegus spend up to Half of their life underground/ or in trees! As babies they are super high boreal! (HUMIDITY) very big water bowl! if substrate is dry or sandy is no good! Damp substrate is the best source of humidity! the humidity NEEDS to be around 60 or 70. if it is not the tegu will lose its toes (LIGHTING) defused or full spectrum bulb and als
I use fresh cypress mulch, but never feed the Tegu in his enclosure so that he won't swallow any mulch. I don't water him in it, either, but let him soak in bathtub approx an hour each day. If I'm leaving for a few days, I put a big litter pan full of water in his enclosure and replace substrata with plenty of black and white newspapers. After he's gone to the bathroom, I let him run around the living room until bed time.
Overall is still good, I bought a T albino ball python, very healthy, active eating and friendly, and then when I intend to buy tegu and receive an animal that is completely out of line with the description on the site, and you know, buy any animal in this place, if you change your mind, you will not get a refund, But I still suggest you come here to see the python, very good!
thnx my tegu started getting the shakes and she is about 3 feet long now and she eats everything. she is well cared for and her back legs twitch from time to time. none of my other tegus do that and they're all cared for the same way. any tips i setup a vet appointment for saturday but if you can save me the money thats always good......well see you ryan when i pick up my two blue tegus.
what do you feed your adult tegus on a daily basis and what is good to feed them and also one more thing i have a Argentine black and white tegu . He's around 2 but very under size he's is about 33 inch.I got him about 3 months ago he has bean growing since i got him but no matter what he doesn't eat fruit but i heard you could give them cod liver oil to substitute fruit. But i don't know how to feed him it and what meats to put in and how often to feed him. He eats every 2 days to about 3 days depends how much he eats . He eats a mix of ground turkey, ground chicken and chicken gizzards also boiled eggs with shell and once a week a mouse or a rat is that a good diet to feed him and what could i give him to get him back to size and he didn't hibernate for me looked like he was but he didn't. Thank you for taking the time to read and hope you could help me and god bless you .
Hey Guys, I need some help. I have had my baby tegu for a week now, and am running into some issues with him eating. I feed him in a seperate enclosure than his tank, I have tried to feed him crickets, superworms, raw ground turkey, kale/collard greens, and fruit... He only took a few bites of the raw ground turkey, but after that seemed to lose interest.. He either walks away from his food or simply lays in it... How much are baby tegus supposed to eat, have the four bites of turkey filled him up already?? Also, How long does it take them to eat, I usually leave him with his food for a half hour or so, and he shows absolutely no interest.
yes i did but a lot of different things come out did you spell it right (condalomas ) yesterday he was laying down flat and his back legs were twitching im just waiting for my day off so i can take him to the vet mean while i aint breeding him till next year so that way i know he will be 100% thanks again clark i'll let you know what the vet says saturday
happy to know that i have a local breeder by me where i can see these vids and know for sure that these animals are being properly maintained and cared for.
Great video Rian. Please do a teen/puberty change video phase that you talk about. My female was super tame from day one. Now all of a sudden she tail whips up and hisses and bites us. Yikes! Help us understand how long this last and what we need to be doing. Our recent 2 baby tegus are growing fast looking good. Thanks Rick
OK I've been wanting a tegu for a long time One of the reasons is they are omnivorous Or at least that's what I previously thought hes kind of making it sound different I cannot under any circumstances bring rodents in to my house I still live at home while I'm going to school and my mom is petrified to death of rodents that's also the reason I can't get a snake my question is would a tegu be a bad choice considering that? If yes then what other options for a big lizard do I have because I do want a big lizard and I do have the space for it I can feed other kinds of meat I just can't bring rodents in the house
Underground Reptiles thank you for the video, I just got a baby tegu and I fed him large meal works and he ate them, I was wondering if they would eat baby mice or not
If he's as small as the ones seen here, you will want to wait several months before introducing pinkies into his diet. They prefer their meals bite size and they're not as good at swallowing large prey whole like monitors (which also prefer bite size mouthfuls, BTW).
Hi I'm wanting to know if it's possible to have a tegu and just feed it raw meat & eggs, fruit & veggies, but avoid feeding it bugs and worms??? Because I would really love to have a tegu, but I'm a lot creeped out by the bugs and worms!!! 😳😳😳
They are carnivores. The bulk of their diet should consist of mice. Argentine Tegus are unique in that they actually have been known to eat more fruit than prey animals, though.
been watching for a while do u guys not make UA-cam vids anymore? also did u end up making a vid on how to deal with tegus when they hit that aggressive teenage stage if u have a link to that I'd love to watch it send link plz
Patrick Gabriel that's when you feed them live animals which makes any lizard aggressive. stay away from live pinks and all the other stuff is fine . once they taste blood ,they will always be snappy and bite .
Underground is a joke they never have anything in stock online and everyone around Lee county I've talked to says whatever they've ordered from underground died within a few days of arrival
Dont buy Tegus from Ryan B at underground reptiles. I had the worst experience buying a tegu from him. He shipped a tegu to me and the poor thing almost died, it was horrible. Than he had the nerve to say it was my fault!
adrianna chatteton ordered 3 Niles and they are thriving on the waiting list for some tegus sorry ur experience sucked doesn’t mean he’s a bad guy should of tried a different route
Personally I just dont think ordering animals from online is a good idea. I've had bad experiences from these guys, and other companies, It might be harder but just try to find a reptile expo or exotic breeder who is local, I'm sure you'd have a much better experience.
if ur looking for quality panther chameleons, go to chameleon company.com and email/call jim, they have great prices for great chams, thet are in Fl too
I like it, straight to the point, no bullshit. Good stuff, thanks!

I just got my girl from yall. So pretty and I love her. Thank you
I love this guy. Resourceful, informative & honesty is the core of his sucess. Look at the passion when he speaks & his actions.
The size is fine. I would just make sure your temps and humidity levels are on point. Check out our other tegu video on care. Thank you.
your storing your hornworms incorrectly. flip the lid so the food is at the top and so they climb up to eat it, prop the lid up with a pencil for ventilation, and empty all the poop daily. the food goes bad way fast if you don't

Excellent video my guy!!! Straight facts
My goodness he is small. Amazing how big they get!
When they get older can you use a 400 gallon tub for them that’s about 6 foot by 2 or 3
That should be fine for one aslong as you take it out fairly often for exercise
also watch for allergies when you give them new foods, i lost a baby tegue to introducing new fruit and went to work.toung swelled up couldnt breath.
I like watching the tegu videos! :) I don't have one my dad won't let me get one but I really enjoy learning about them. Could you post the tegu breaking habit very soon please and is it kind of the same with other reptiles?
Yes thanks

Tegus are excelent pets, you can have a Pogona and a Iguana too as other viable options, either does'nt eat rodents
What do you recommend to dust with
is verve multi compost soil okay for a substrate?
do you do the same for hand feeding
On your app you're out of stock of Tegus

I raise Dubia for my dragons. Can i feed Dubia, instead of crickets? Thanks for the video!
+Homer Runningtortoise I was thinking the same thing. I would think so because dubias are a lot better than crickets.
+Neon Tiger yeah you can
Thanks!
Wanna hook me up? xD
What could I feed instead of insects, I'm not a big fan of them and my parents don't like them either.
pinkies are a good for your tegu
Amel Bajramovic then don't get a reptile. If you can't deal with what they eat then don't get one.
